Love love love this it here! I started bringing my dog here recently and don’t want to go anywhere else! I LOVE that there are cameras for me to see him at anytime, and when I come in they always make it so personable and already know me by name, and then they’re so cute they even give you a report card lol I highly recommend!!

My girl, Pickle, loves coming to daycare. She gets super excited every week and always comes home tired and happy! We also love all the photoshoots they do. The employees are kind and genuinely care about all the dogs that go there. Price is fair and comparable to other places in the area. Highly recommend!

My pup enjoys daycare! She is a high energy Boxer, so having a safe space to expend all that exuberant energy is important. Dogtopia provides this, thereby giving me peace of mind!

Me and my dog absolutely love Dogtopia. It has given him social interaction with other dogs ever since he was a puppy and it has kept him busy and happy! The staff has always been super friendly and great to work with. I also love that they offer some spa services. I highly recommend Dogtopia of Northville!

We took our dogs there for a while and liked it, but the place went downhill after an ownership change. We witnessed employees not treating the dogs well so we decided it was worth it to drive a little farther to take our dogs elsewhere.

Where to begin...I have been a Dogtopia Northville client since 2020. At that time, management was wonderful. They knew me and my dog by name and dropping off/picking up was always quick (even during the pandemic). They used to clean my dog after daycare and she came home tired, happy, and smelled good. We even got free pictures of our dogs during special events (something the new management charges for now). Over the past couple of years, there has been a change in management, and it shows. Since then, we got another dog, and we usually send our dogs there twice a month on Fridays (so, 4 daycare sessions a month). I know that's small potatoes compared to people who send their dogs there every day, but as two teachers, we can't afford that. Prices for their daycare have gone way up since 2020 as well. We always purchased the 20-day daycare package, but as of this past week, apparently that is no longer an option. They only offer weekly packages now, which doesn't make sense for my dogs that go twice a month. Last spring I also spotted some very aggressive human behavior by a staff member while watching the cameras at my lunch hour. I reported it, and Dogtopia's response was to credit my account with a couple daycare days. That doesn't really solve the problem, so I hope that staff member was re-trained or let go. I did end up talking to a regional manager and she was very kind, helpful, and understanding. After reading so many awful reviews that have been posted lately, I know I'm not alone. This is a shame as this location has the potential to be incredible with its proximity to so many surrounding communities, but unfortunately we are going to be taking our dogs elsewhere now. Do better, Dogtopia.

Their new workers are not nice and very snappy. Not the best service, def need to get a dog lover and lover of People should be at the front desk assisting customers, not someone who looks high and a non chalant attitude.David

If I could give a 0 star I would - my dogs were physically harmed here and I considered filing a lawsuit. This place was really great a couple years ago, but new owners took over last year; since then I have read terrible reviews and none of the staff is the same. The cameras were not turned on until I called and asked them to be. After requesting to watch the video after daycare, I saw the dogs were caged immediately upon arrival for 2 hours. This NEVER happened in the past and the cameras were always on.On March 15 2023, I brought my golden retrievers to daycare and an employee used dog mace on all of the dogs for hours burning their eyes, nose and ears. My dogs thank god are okay - my oldest got an ear infection the following week and they both winced and shook their heads at the sight of a small spray can. I would NEVER leave my dogs here for daycare or boarding - I can't imagine what they would be subjected to during this time without cameras. To be clear, the lady who sprayed the dogs was fired on the spot and the manager said all dog parents were notified, but the owners refused to release a formal apology letter after multiple requests. I will never bring my dogs back to this location. The manager assured me that every owner was notified, but as you read this, please consider your beloved dogs before leaving them in the care of Dogtopia Northville. Watching this abuse broke my heart - especially for the poor white dog who continuously was sprayed over and over because he wouldn't run away and hide with the others. If cameras are not on when leaving your dogs, please call immediately so you can be sure they're not just caged or being abused. Please read all recent reviews before taking your dogs here as things have changed for the worse.—Thank you for the comment below - it is still missing an apology… do you feel bad that your employees did this to animals under your care? Why is this the first time I am hearing back from someone after numerous calls and messages and requests for the owner to contact me? Please release a statement to the owners of pets who were sprayed that day. My dogs eyes were watering and one ended up with an ear infection - the product did burn them and the product was held spraying dogs over and over and over for hours. It was not being used as intended and it includes ethanol and citronella… it says to seek medical attention if it gets in your eyes which it clearly did.

I had also visited with Dogtopia a few times but this last and FINAL encounter takes the cake.My dog is 16 years old and this has never been a secret. I explained this when I dropped him off and reiterated it when I returned to pick him up. I 1000% agree that things are not the same as they use to be.I have since, shared this with the owner. On July 29th, I left my dog, Sam, with Dogtopia. I was assured that he was doing well when I called to check on him. However, when I arrived to pick him up, I was told that he needed to be cleaned and asked to wait. Due to my schedule, I requested that he be wiped down instead. When I received Sam, I was shocked to find him smelling of urine and feces and trembling with fear. It was clear that he had been left in that state for quite some time. I immediately questioned the Dogtopia staff about the situation and their protocol for such cases. I was deeply upset and found myself in tears. As someone who entrusted my pet to their care, I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Dogtopia. Since returning home, Sam has not been the same, and I am concerned. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, some staff members apologized and shared my concerns about potential mistreatment.Sam and I will not be returning. I only hope that he can recover as he was prior to his visit.I have advised Dogtopia also.Dr. Monique D Porter

The staff are so responsive and caring with our dogs! We’ve trusted this establishment with our dogs a handful of times now. They make me feel so comfortable with leaving my dogs there. 10/10 would recommend

We’ve been coming here for years and since the new ownership it’s been terrible. We’ve given them about a year for transition and even through our dog getting terrible kennel cough which turned serious with hospitalization. When you walk in the facility all you smell is dog urine and it about takes your breath away. Their cameras were “down” for the week that we just boarded our pup (this past week). I can’t prove it but it seems unlikely they were down when I saw the condition the place was in. They were disorganized and it took them 20 min to find his belongings but the worst of it was watching our pup come out and being absolutely disgusting beyond words. He was wet and smelled like urine, his normal white legs were black… he came back with half of his food and just looked like he had been living on the streets. His bed was covered in urine and feces. His paws were soaked so much so that I need to shampoo the carpet in my car. I’m sad, angry and disgusted with this facility. It’s really sad to see a place that was so wonderful turn to this…

Dogtopia is quite literally the worst place ever. I would never take any animal there. The staff is extremely rude abd gas no consideration fir animal life. I took my dog there to be boarded for the week while I was out of the country, their general manager quit and he was who I did all my paperwork for my dog through the staf claimed they lost the paperwork and sent my dog to the humane society without my knowledge. No one tried to contact me or any when they have my information. They abused my dog to no extent they did not feed him or anything he has lost ten pounds and came back very sick he won’t stop throwing up and he has diarrhea. He starts shaking whenever peopl come up to him. I took him to the vet and they told me my dog is experiencing extreme stress from abuse. Furthermore when they took my do to the humane society the removed his tags and collar and acted as if he was an abandoned puppy that had no home. I would never take any animal here thid place needs to be shut down IMMEDIATELY.
