Over the years, my husband and I have used multiple pharmacies in Muskegon. We used Walgreen's at Henry and Sherman for a long time. Then, after we moved closer to the one on Apple, we used that one. We really liked them, but they ended their contract with our insurance or some such thing, so we had to change.
We started out with the pharmacy at Walmart on Sherman. Well, they were clueless (I could say worse, but I'm a lady ?), so we switched to CVS on Apple. They were just okay, but nothing happened that would cause us to switch, and they were close to home, so we stayed with them. That is, until one time, when they were out of one one of my regular medications.
As it turned out, several pharmacies around town were out of it. Eventually, I contacted Rite Aid in North Muskegon. They didn't have it either, but they bent over backward to find a solution for me. That goes a long way in our book, so even though they are out of our way and we have several pharmacies that are closer to us, we switched to Rite Aid.
It was well over 5 years when that happened, and we haven't regretted our decision once! The employees know us by sight, even some who don't work in the pharmacy area, and they're all always very friendly, yet professional. It's almost like the small, hometown pharmacies from days gone by, and we plan to remain with them as long as it's within our power to do so!
UPDATE: Well, it's no longer within our power to stay with Rite Aid. They up and went out of business without even telling us. ? A week ago Friday, I got an antibiotic from there for a tooth infection. Monday, after calling our doctor's office to request refills of our regular prescriptions, they called back to say Rite Aid is closed!
When I asked if it was temporary closure or a permanent one, I was told that it's permanent! I was shocked, to say the least.
So, a little while ago, I called Rite Aid's number, just to double check (I guess I am in denial ?). I got a recording saying, "Thank you for calling Walgreen's!" Looks like we'll be going back to Walgreen's (yes, I called to verify that they are taking our insurance again).
We'll miss you, Rite Aid!

The in the back told me i have blood pressure thats not the greatest experience but anyway me ( pink easter bunny with pumpkin mask) and sb (gorilla) walked in with full-body suits and the employees were treating us inhumane looking at saying “strong burglary vibes” we didn’t feel welcomed so we left to play on the snow hill in the parking lot but the employe was still watching like a perv, we felt so uncomfortable that we had no choice but to equip ourselves to the 2-person bike and rode off into the woods so we can lay by the river.

Great pharmacy/pharmacists, they will have time to discuss medications. From A-Z Rite Aid will have it.

This RiteAid has been my pharmacy since moving to North Muskegon in 2007. Love the Pharmacy Managers Jessica and Rocky and am always greeted by name by the Pharmacy Assistants. The couple of times they haven’t had my prescription in stock they’ve called to the other stores and had it all set up for me to just go pick it up. I’ve even been able to quickly and easily schedule my vaccines there. It’s obvious that they care about their patients. Amazing service!!

August 5 had covid test done. Told 2 days for results. It's 11 days later and never given results. Now have lost my job because of this. I will never use this store again!

Those girls working there were so friendly, and so helpful. They made me feel like family instead of a customer.

Worst experience ever getting flu shots for my family. Sat for over 40 minutes after turning in paperwork and proper insurance card. Pharmacist excuse was she was training someone and instead of taking the time to help let the poor girl struggle for over 30 minutes. We were literally the only customers in the store so she had plenty of time to help. So when I had the nerve to complain she proceeded to raise her voice in front of her trainee and my entire family making me feel like it was my fault! I will never step foot in the store again and will tell everyone I know the same:

I work right across the street at Classy Chassy Auto Sales and the pharmacy workers have always been great when I call for a prescription refill. Staff in the store is helpful and friendly, when I go inside and try to find something, everyone has always been wonderful.

Filled a prescription as 90 days which was not covered on insurance. Insurance sent a notice rejecting the 90 days but Rite Aid filled it as 90 days and charged me full price. Pharmacy error and should have reimbursed me but would not. I am changing pharmacies.
