Kelsey in Niles was great. Helped me with all my out of state needs, rather quickly.

Made and appointment and showed up. Was timely, efficient and the woman who helped us was friendly and easy to work with. Best SOS experience I've ever had and that includes multiple states.

my husband set me up an appointment because he had it all set up and easy access. im from indiana trying to witch everything to Michigan so I'm new to all this. I go in and get yelled at about how he's not allowed to make my appointment for me and that I needed to . I said its the same time slot I didnt think it was a issue. she got mad and said it is a issue and continued to be rude. look if you don't like your job melliisa you can always collect unemployment and sit at home and me miserable there. there's ways of talking to people without being mean or rude. will hope to never have to go there again.

If I could give a quarter star it would be too much. The supervisor working today is one of the rudest people in customer service I have ever had to deal with. Conveniently at 4pm on a Friday their computers are down with over 50 people still waiting to be serviced. At 5:45 I get called up and she (supervisor) asks to see my paperwork. When I tell her I have 13 fleet vehicles to be renewed she tells me their system is totally down. Everyone else is being serviced, I don't see anyone else being told they can't be serviced. The computers seem to be working fine for everyone else. I tried to reason with her and got absolutely no where. She even spoke loud enough for everyone to hear her say "I should have come in sooner to renew our fleet tags", basically saying this was my fault. Pathetic - she has no business in customer service.

Normally, I drive farther to go to this location over Benton Harbor. Every person working here today is completely rude! My 16 year old daughter asked one simple question, and they looked at her like she was stupid and incompetent. Way to make a kid feel good about getting her first car, State of Michigan!

Niles Secretary of State I'm #71, they are on #10 I leave and go to the bank, lowes, back to SoS, on # 19. Drive 1/2 hr to Dowagiac SoS, closed for remodel. Back to Niles, on #47 and close in 1 hr. They're not getting to #71 today. Unacceptable.

I'm not sure what's going on with this place, the staff is pretty much the same as it's always been, but I waited for five hours in there today, FIVE hours, and was told it's the new "norm"! I took a number when I walked in, it was in the 20's and they were just calling 38. Yeah, the numbers roll over after 99 so there were 80+ ahead of me in line and they were processing maybe 5 people every 30min. Out of the five staffers I saw only one lady who was actively working with a customer, two were having some kind of extended confab, there was a fourth in an office, and a fifth lady kept walking around with a bunch of papers. Reminded me of trying to checkout at Walmart with a cartload of frozen food and only one lane open. Mood in there was grim. Folks were mad and in disbelief, many handing their tickets to others and leaving after an hour or so. One lady who had some kind of portable medical device was all but in tears when she had to go because her batteries were going dead. Others came in on their lunch hour only to find out their numbers wouldn't be called until the next day! I called the main customer service number in Lansing, of course it's always busy, and left callback info. Four hours later my cell rings and I'm put immediately on hold. No human ever came on the line. What a scam. This situation is beyond ridiculous! WTF is going on? I usually mail our renewal forms in for license plates, but you know for other things like titlework and driver's license issues people have to physically go in there! Better plan on losing a whole day of work! If you're reading this and have had a similar experience, call your state representative's office and give them an earful.
