Food is decent but usually bland but understandable for this essentially retirement town. Only problem with this place is low staff so it takes forever with service.
Walkability: If a local not a bad walk from down town.
Food & drinks: The do serve alcohol
Noteworthy details: Great for the older crowd.

The restaurant was excellent. From the moment you walk in you feel how friendly everyone is. The food was, as before simply wonderful. If you're in the area stop and eat. You won't regret it.

I recently had the misfortune of dining at Zellar's Village Inn in Newberry, Michigan, and it pains me to say that it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. From start to finish, the entire meal was marred by subpar service, lackluster food, and an overall atmosphere that left much to be desired.First and foremost, the service was slow and inattentive. It seemed as though the staff were more preoccupied with chatting amongst themselves than actually attending to the needs of the customers. Our server appeared disinterested and took forever to bring us our drinks, let alone take our orders. As for the food, it was nothing short of underwhelming. The menu boasted of hearty, home-cooked meals, but what arrived at our table was bland and uninspired. The ingredients seemed lackluster and poorly sourced, leaving us questioning the freshness of what we were eating. Portions were also surprisingly small for the price we paid, making the whole dining experience feel like a rip-off.The atmosphere of the restaurant didn't help salvage the experience either. The interior felt outdated and dingy, with dim lighting that only served to highlight the lack of cleanliness. It's clear that little effort has been made to create a welcoming or inviting ambiance for diners. In conclusion, Zellar's Village Inn in Newberry, Michigan, left much to be desired. From the sluggish service to the lackluster food and dreary atmosphere, it's safe to say that I won't be returning anytime soon. Save yourself the disappointment and dine elsewhere.

Consistently good food. I love the breakfasts, best veggie sandwich, the chicken parmesan is huge, pasties, and all the comfort foods!
