Homey, clean, well-run lodge close to summer and winter attractions. The manager (Deb S.) is great and very responsive. Staff seems happy, and morale is important to quality.

My husband and I stayed here with our baby girl last month. The Pleasant Moose was indeed a pleasant stay for our little family!Because we had a stroller and bassinet to carry with us, I asked if we could switch our room to the first floor. The person at the desk was able to get us into an upgraded room at a good price! While the rooms are dated, we enjoyed having a lot of space in our suite along with the kitchenette. You don’t see large Jacuzzi baths like that every day!Breakfast had a large variety of foods (eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, pastries, bagels, oatmeal) and the lobby was comfortable. The only thing I would have liked to have had was fresh fruit options like the usual apples, bananas, or oranges. When I was done eating, I checked out the small gift shop. Even though it was small, it has lots of essentials and gifts. I picked up a few stickers for my water bottle.Again, everyone was so kind and accommodating. They helped suggest some things to do in the area as well. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again if we are in the area!

Perfect place to stay while in the Newberry area. Super friendly welcoming staff. Breakfast was a great way to start out the day. Rooms super clean and comfy. Popcorn, donuts, and ice cream before bed if desired. But what really sets this place apart is you can feel their appreciation that you decided to stay at their establishment. They want to make your stay great. We'll definitely stay again on our next trip north.

My husband and I stayed at the Pleasant Moose Lodge for one night as we were passing through Newberry. We had our St. Bernard-mix dog with us and we chose Pleasant Moose because it was pet-friendly and independently owned. We loved it. The manager, Deb, is so friendly. She makes every guest feel welcome and loved. The room was comfortable and spotless. The front lobby--where breakfast is served--is also a comfortable, lovely place to hang out. And this motel is truly pet-friendly. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

The customer service here was super welcoming and had very “homey” feel when you walked through the door. The rooms were nice, neat and clean. The breakfast was very delicious and plenty of options to choose from. I would definitely choose to stay here again! Thank you for a great nights stay!

Had planned to stay at the pleasant moose for our fall weekend trip to Tahquamenon Falls. When we arrived the front desk manager was very friendly and hospitable, and explained the great amenities they offer, which make the hotel look great from the entrance. Once we arrived to our room (108) things went downhill. It may just be me but I believe the pictures online are misrepresentative of the quality of the rooms. Nothing in the room looked as if it had been updated within the last 30 years, and when checking out the bed the mattress was stained, as well as the Ill fitting mattress “protector” which was just a thin sheet underneath the even thinner fitted sheet, which did not fit the queen mattress. We asked for new sheets which we did get, but after discovering the hair left underneath the sheets and mattress protector, the dust and crumbs left on the floor by the bed, and just the overall timeworn appearance of the room, we just were not comfortable. The final straw was when we opened the curtains of our window and saw our unfortunate location/view was directly into the kids playroom, which was odd and not a pleasant addition to the experience. We were given the option to leave and get a refund which we did receive, and a thorough apology for not meeting our expectations, which I do appreciate. I do wish that they would put as much effort into the quality of the rooms as they do their hospitality and front of house. I cannot speak for the other rooms but in my opinion if you are going to stay, do not book room 108.

We Love ❤️ staying in our favorite room Number #105We Were treated with empecable care from our initial phone call to this establishment from Becky around 9:30pm on 9/13/23 she gave us price and breakdown of prices, room availability, held our room till we could locate some hot food ( a meal) before coming and then again on a second call ? helped us with directions when we got lost and turned around in town arriving later than originally stated. Upon check in ( Becky) was very pleasant and helpful and quick doing paperwork. Plus ➕️ huge bonus offering late night ? snacks Moose poop, ice cream, soda, ect. Cannot go wrong ever there to top an evening off. I thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi tub on my sore body after a 18 hour ride/ drive. They had a gift shop > yeah, Breakfast was fabulous and many choices and hot choices. Loved bagels too. Hot popcorn ? for the road when leaving. The Manager Deb Singeleton here runs a nice , homey, down to earth, family feeling establishment with superb hospitality and I hope the this place and the rates stay here and the same for years to come . Already planning my next return.

NOT family friendly at all.. Received a call from the front desk at 4:30am questioning if my infant was ok because she was fussing while I made her a bottle. They stated we needed to calm her down because she was keeping other guests awake. Will NEVER stay here again with my family and I hope other families don’t get treated this way. Sad that they could have had us as a long time frequent customer.

Took a week long tour around the UP & this was by far the best customer service experience from start to finish. The room was so clean and the pillows were the ones that make you think about catching an extra charge on your bill! We came in late so everything was closed, but they cooked us pizza & had a lovely breakfast spread in the morning. If you don’t see what you want there’s a full service bar/restaurant up front that has great food! The two ladies up front this morning (8/10) you’re the sweetest ladies. Thank you for the exceptional hospitality!Nearby activities: Waterfalls, Bear Sanctuary, Sled dogs, ORV trails, camping, museumFood & drinks: Plenty of nearby options before 9pm
