We rarely lose power, when we do they power is restored within a few hours. They follow up with a phone call to ensure that everything is working.

I rarely lose power, and if I do, it's for a short time. A lot of neighbors use Consumers energy and they have outages every storm. So happy to have great lakes energy.

The service is excellent, and customer support is great. I have no complaints about GLE, themselves. However, they hire third-party installers many of which, I can only assume, recruit their "talent" directly from trap houses and prison busses. Expect them to destroy your fence & bushes, hit on your wife, kick your dog, and pretend they didn't when you call them out on it. Anticipate them to say outlandish things like "Your fence already had a telephone pole laying on it when we got here" or "Those dually tire tracks over your now dead bush we are parked next to, that matches our trucks precisely? We don't know anything about it". I strongly suggest you surveil them the whole time they are they are even in proximity to your home/property. Good luck.

The lady I spoke to on the phone was rude and unprofessional with a major attitude. If you don't want to help people and hate answering phones then go work somewhere, where there are no people.

We as a customer pay 30 dollars a month for power outage protection I have lived here for years and never have I seen a great lakes energy truck unless the power was out just rounding off that's 36 million dollars a year they should be out cutting trees and clearing the area around their lines instead of driving fancy cars someone is embezzling money at a high level

They’ve always been very reliable with service. Lots of Consumers Energy receivers (including our 2nd home) have lost power several times this year during rough storms but we have not had that issue. Not even once. The customer service agents do their jobs well and are also always friendly/understanding.

I have had Great Lakes provide my service for many years and full time now that I live here full time. Though I occasionally lose power, that is to be expected in an area with many trees and spread out customers. I have always been treated with respect by the linemen and they work hard to restore my power, even when weather is not on their side. The metering system is up to date and allows for the company to know when I am out. I am proud to be a Great Lakes customer.

The women that work in this office are horrid. I’ve had so many problems with Great Lakes Energy itself as well. Every month there’s a “problem” and they always want more money. If I could switch electric companies I would!!!

Currently been without power for hours now, no storms, nothing. And when my husband drove by the workers "supposed " to be fixing the issue, they were sitting on a fence, talking, NOT working. This is twice in 2 days powers gone out, and more than 6x in 3 mos.

It's the only power company near us in the area and they always take 5+ hours to get the power back on (that frequently goes out) if you're going to charge us an extra 37 bucks just to use your services maybe you should provide faster more reliable service. Just an idea. I would switch if I could.
