I took my truck into the Apple Ave location to have a bumper repair done. I dropped it off on 11/18/21. I drove the vehicle in with no problems but a bumper. On 11/04/21 I purchased a brand new key fob to the vehicle at the local Dodge dealership because I had an indication that the battery was going low in mine. On 12/10/21 I was called to come pick up the vehicle from Gerber & when I got there I was informed that my key fob had been turned into a key, because I didn’t understand the dynamics I thought now I just had an option to use the key fob as a key or utilize my push start. I didn’t notice until that evening that my start/stop button was in my ashtray. I wasn’t walked to my vehicle, they didn’t show me what had been done or check to see if I was okay with the repairs, after what continued I now know why. I wasn’t contacted to say that they had ran into an issue or the vehicle was malfunctioning and they needed to remove parts of my truck. Gerber Collision is not a mechanical shop, they can’t warranty mechanical I guess or it just may depend on who you are or how much they value your business. I immediately called them and was told by Dakota he had been given permission to remove my button by his boss, when I spoke to Jason Brookhouse I was informed no manager would give the permission that they had dropped the ball on communication and my vehicle would be restored to the manner in which I brought it in. Well he was just as dishonest as his service, he went on to take the vehicle back to the place I got the key fob and had them diagnose it, he then called the insurance company and told them that I had a pre existing condition to the vehicle that had been left undone so it was not the fault of Gerber. Well I took my truck back to the dealership and was informed that Jason brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic and when informed the repair the truck now required was 900$’s he stated “well that’s not our fault” Well who’s fault is it? If it was a miscommunication between my start/stop and my key fob the programming on 11/04/21 would have not worked or lasted 2 weeks. Tim at the Dodge dealership was floored that Jason would relay that information as he didn’t say that neither did the diagnostic back that theory up. Fast forward to today, the truck that I picked out with all the amenities I wanted is no longer that. Just like a routine traffic stop gon bad this was my experience with a body shop who over stepped every boundary possible and reconstructed the makeup of my vehicle and the many features that having my start/stop button provides. Let’s not forget to add that Jason who had no personal etiquette threatened to call the cops and say I stole a rental vehicle if I didn’t come get my truck ASAP and return the rental, while I was sitting at work I was in tears just trying to understand how something like this could happen. I saw an Orange Dodge Ram parked out in the front on today when I went to pick up my vehicle and I could only imagine how the owner of that truck (Jason) would feel if what him and his shop did to my vehicle was done to his. I would not recommend this business to anyone who stands on honesty or has a valued possession, unless you may be a friend or relative or they value your business. My business wasn’t valued. This shop has no integrity whatsoever. This was a terrible ending to the year and Holiday Season, I must now chop what they did up as a loss because no way can I afford 900$ 7 days before Christmas or 7 days after giving them 1000$ deductible. This really happened to me and it’s unbelievable that humans can be that down right and dirty. This repair shop couldn’t even put the start/stop button back in because they aren’t a mechanical shop but mind you they took it off. Make that make sense!!!

I initially had my vehicle towed to Gerber and wasn't expecting much: the typical towing and totalling process. To my surprise, the Gerber team went above and BEYOND my expectations. I was offered assistance towards finding a new a vehicle, was guided through the process of buying a new vehicle, and had my new vehicle inspected by them. I am very impressed with the team. Tedd specifically, was eager to help and offered thorough advice. You can trust Gerber with your car needs.

Dont bother going to this location, choose another body shop. I called Mike and asked if he would give me an estimate on my 2015 Lincoln MKZ that was being worked on RIGHT NEXT DOOR (attached) to Great Lakes Ford. They told me to have GLF bring the vehicle to them. REALLY?! You cant walk to the adjacent parking lot to give me an estimate for work?! They must not want my business. I have had work done here on 4 seperate occasions for different vehicles. The customer service and attitude has gone downhill. There are PLENTY of mom and pop auto body places in Muskegon, please give your business to one of them. Apparently Mike and Gerber don't care about customer service.

My wife's 2017 car was hit in a parking garage during a hosptial stay , so we did some research, and found this little gem about 4 minutes from our house. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly staff, who very knowledgeable in their jobs. I was told the job would take around 8 days, but it was done the same week! Throughout the whole process, I was informed numerous times, on the status of the vehicle. Upon picking it up, I was told that there was one part that hadn't come in yet, and that when it did, it would be replaced at no additional cost, and it was. I will use Gerber for any repair work needed on my vehicles for as long as I can drive. They also can pick up you and your vehicle, depending on how far you are!
