I have, for years, chosen goodwill to donate my stuff to because they supposedly hire the handicap and provide job training. Today, I had a steel frame, lightweight L shaped desk I had taken the end brackets off to get it into my car trunk. I drive up to the donation center - had the employee take his position in the door with no offer to help unload or anything - and when I pulled the top board out of the trunk he asked what it was. I told him and his response angered me. He said, "We cannot accept it unless it is fully assembled." Apparently the handicap they hire are incapable of driving 7 screws back in to the holes they came out of. Salvation Army accepted it - no questions asked.

I very much dislike how much they charge for things considering that they get it for free. I do know that they have to pay for things but come on. I know people shop at thrift stores because they want to. I do it because I have to and I need for stuff to be extremely cheap, I thought that's what Goodwill was all about.

I was in Mt Pleasant cruising thirt shops today. Usually college towns have the best donation-based shops.. This Goodwill is huge, clean, orderly and popular. I noticed the donation center was very busy. Great selection of books. Tons of houseware.

Decent selection and somewhat organized. Pricing is not obvious on some items or confusing per rack signage.

Went in for the first time over the weekend. Was well-kept, easy to find items, and had a good variety. It was quite busy and the employee that checked us out was very nice. Even handled some rude customers well.If you were the two ladies that put your items on the checkout counter and complained about having to wait in line - shame on you. You were literally next in line but you had to complain because you had to feel entitled. You've clearly never worked in customer service and it shows. ?

Love that the store has gotten rid of bags. They have signs letting you know they don’t use bags anymore, but they have reusables near the checkout if you forget. Prices are decent on clothes. Some other items are priced higher than I am comfortable paying for. Store is always well stocked. I would say 70% of the time the staff are very nice, but the other 30% they are somewhat abrasive. I often leave the store empty handed, but the gems that I do get on occasion are worth the time.

Nice selection, sometimes overpriced on a few things, not a fan of the no bag situation either.

So overpriced these days. I can buy brand new for cheaper or shop local thrift stores, which I'll be doing. How are you marking things with original tags on for more than the original price tag, we can see.

Wow! Great selection. Best Goodwill location I've ever been in. My son recently bought a house, and I'm trying to find kitchen items. I hit the jackpot! Staff is so helpful and friendly.
