We are so thrilled with our Angell! Stonehill said they breed calm dogs, and although she is all puppy (and a German Shredder at this stage), the two comments we get most often from those that meet her - she is beautiful, and she is so calm! She is super smart, trainable and has such depth to her personality. Also relevant - I told a fellow GSD owner in West Michigan that I got her at Stonehill, and he said his trainer in west Michigan said it’s one of the only 3 places to get a GSD in Michigan. I can’t disagree!

We learned about Stonehill Kennels online -- the reviews and the Facebook page were great resources for us to make our choice to have our puppy train at Stonehill. We live in Oak Park, IL and had been looking for a place that would be a positive training experience for our 6-month GS puppy, Watts. While we knew it would be a bit of a drive from Oak Park to Stonehill, it was SOOO worth it. Watts had a great time, Stacy sent us videos and photos while Watts was doing a two-week board and train session. Watts had a lot of very "typical" puppy behavior (would pull the leash on walks, was only about "50/50" at complying with basic commands like "sit"). At the end of two weeks, Watts has learned so much (sit, down, heel, place) and, more importantly, you can really tell she WANTS to learn and is excited when we do training with her at home. When we came to pick up Watts, Stacy took time with us to go through the training protocol Watts had learned and to show us how to continue the training at home. Ideally, we needed Watts to be able to "heel" well enough on walks so that my younger children and my older parents could take her out and be able to walk her -- I'm happy to report that she is doing GREAT! We could not be happier with our experience and plan to make Stonehill part of any future boarding and training. I only wish we lived closer because the socials look so fun and we hope to make a trip up for one in the future.

Stacy was a God-send with our puppy, Hilda. Hilda is a great dane and had phenomenal temperament, with no manners and my husband and I were at a loss for where to start and how to properly control her with how big she was getting so quickly. After a 2 week board and train with Stacy, she came home a totally different dog and has all the manners she was lacking before. Stacy instructed us on how to keep the training going at home and keep consistency so we didn't lose any work she had done. It was a phenomenal experience and I highly recommend this program and Stacy to anyone who needs some help with anything dog related.

We have a 2 year old miniature dachshund, Willa, who was aggressive with children and other people, she was short tempered and we couldn’t trust her! With a lot of our friends having small children and us not being able to bring our dog around we decided it was time to do something about it. We researched, found Stonehill kennels and reached out to see if it would be a good fit for Willa. We ended up taking Willa there for a 3 week board and train program. Nichole took Willa under her wing and completely transformed her!!! Nichole & her children helped turn her into a calmer, well behaved, overall more tame dog. We now can take her into public places and strangers can approach her… which is a miracle! She’s done a complete 180 and I owe it all to them. I 10/10 recommend stonehill for any training needs!

We had a great experience with the two week board and train. We took our lovable, but poorly trained, 150lbs+ Newfoundland. Prior to being in “boot camp” it was impossible for any of my family, other than me, to walk him. He would even pull me when he saw another dog (he loves making new friends). After two weeks with Stacy, he now is walked by my 9 year old daughter with just a few “heals” and “leave its.” We will be boarding our big boy again for an upcoming trip, and I look forward to Stacy giving him a refresher, reinforcing his training, and maybe even teaching him a new trick. Thank you Stacy and Stonehill Kennels!

We heard great things about Stonehill Kennels so we made the decision to have our 1 year old GSD adopted puppy trained on site for 2 weeks. Nichole was our trainer and she has completely transformed our scared and aggressive puppy into a confident and loving dog! She is patient, structured, and trains based on reward and not punishment. She was so great with our puppy that we just sent our 7 year old rescue dog for two weeks to work with her. I can’t say enough good things about what she has done for our sweet boy. We are so grateful for her professionalism and love of dogs! If you need a great trainer, I highly recommend Nichole! 10/10 stars!!

Exceptional Dog Training Experience!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Stacy and I couldn't be happier with the results. From the moment I contacted them, their professionalism and dedication to their craft were evident. We have done two group training classes elsewhere in the past with little success. We decided to go with the two week board and train and were extremely happy with the results at Stonehill.
Stacy took the time to thoroughly assess my dog's needs and tailor a training program that suited both of us perfectly. Their methods were gentle yet effective, and I was amazed at how quickly my dog responded to their guidance.
Not only did Stacy provide invaluable training sessions, but they also equipped me with the knowledge and tools to continue reinforcing positive behaviors at home. Their ongoing support and encouragement were incredibly reassuring, and I felt empowered to continue our training journey long after our sessions concluded. We will be purchasing our next dog from Stonehill.

My 4 1/2 year old shepherd, Nola, went to Stonehill for a two week stay and train. Nola worked on basic obedience and reactivity with smaller children with Nichole and her daughters. They were so great with my girl! I got updates, photos and videos of her progress. Nichole was great, catering her training to what we needed in our home and laid a great foundation for us to continue working on. I could tell they really bonded and cared for her during her stay and they also continued to check in once we came home. I am very pleased and would recommend to anyone. Very great price for all you receive with them and worth driving across the state for their great service. Thank you!!

Was searching around for the best dog training in the area and I found Stonehill kennels. I highly recommend this place they did an amazing job with my German shepherd. At 1st he didn’t like anyone I couldn’t take him on walks or in stores and after picking up my Dog after the training I was able to do everything that I couldn’t do before and I’m happy I made the choice of taking him to Stonehill kennels!!!

We were extremely impressed with the training that Stacy provided to our 14 month old, 155lb mastiff. We signed up for the 2 week obedience training and it was invaluable. He is a completely different dog walking and his demeanor around other dogs improved tremendously.

Awesome breeder. I rescued my Lexie from there. Someone returned her for health reasons. Then I was able to adopt. They have classes to help people train their dogs. So many cool things going on at Stone Hill Kennels!!
