The only reason I am giving this place one star is because I have to give at least one in order to leave a review! This place sucks! The nursing staff have an attitude. If you ask the nurses a question about your loved one, they get an instant attitude. If you ask them to do anything, they get an attitude. The charge nurse looked my mother up and down with a nasty look because my mother walked into her husbands room and he was bleeding from the neck and his pads were soaked, and my mother kindly asked the nurse to clean him up and asked what happened since yesterday. The day before he was not doing any of this. I have never been to a hospital where the staff shows no empathy, compassion or sympathy for their patients or the patients loved ones. We are looking to have our loved one moved to another hospital. The staff here are clearly here for a pay check only. Please, please, please if you truly love your loved one, don’t bring them here.Update November 29, 2023. So after all this above, my family demanded new nurses. The CEO came to talk to us and we explained to him all the attitude my family is experiencing with his staff. So we received a different nurse. He was not the friendliest either. When he entered my father’s room to administer medication, my sister asked him politely what was he giving our father, he responded “medicine”, so we asked again politely, for the name and what is it for. I just don’t understand the lack of compassion from the nursing staff here. Our father came here very ill and we understand that. We ask questions because we care and we are trying to make one of the most difficult decisions of our lives regarding his situation and this place lacks compassion for what we are going through and for what our father is going through. I have never experienced anything like this before and it is very tramatizing. So, the next day my family came up, we had another nurse and she was ok. She did explain everything she was doing and what she administered to my father. My family still doesn’t trust this place completely. From the moment my father arrived at this facility, it was nothing but attitude from the nursing staff.

In order to leave this review I was forced to give a 1 star rating. They actually deserve less than nothing. This place is an utter disgrace. Please heed my warning when I tell you to please find an alternative for your loved one. From upper management (especially) to clinicians, regular staff, and administration, they were ALL beyond disappointing and disgusting. My father, a 72 year old Decorated Vietnam Veteran, came to Select Care as a recommendation for rehabilitation from another facility. They were suggested as a place that could promote and provide quicker healing so he could return home. Instead of passion, care, concern, and actual rehabilitation medical care, he was restrained, overly sedated day and night, and treated very poorly. I lost my father 2 months ago now and I know for certain that they perpetuated his death and stole time he had left on this earth. For 18 days he stayed in this facility they did absolutely nothing for him but bill the VA and his insurance provider. In 18 days in a facility who claimed to be working on getting him up and moving they spent less than 3 hours in collective total on his physical therapy. The only reason he remained there for all 18 days was because upon our several requests for his release we were warned against doing so by the administration. They cited that taking him AMA could result in the insurance company not paying for his stay that was already brinking on 100k. We were trapped and afraid. I requested all 537 pages of his medical records that I reviewed myself page by page and found multiple discrepancies and downright lies in the notes. I am now preparing to retain an attorney to address this matter further as none of my attempts in speaking with upper management were met with proper action or attention. Be warned, do not make the mistake I did and place a single ounce of trust in this institution. They will steal time from your loved one you cannot get back and money from your pocket or your insurance company that will line their pockets and not go towards any type of quality care.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS FACILITY!!! THEY ARE NOT NICE PEOPLE,.. DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU,!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA!! MY MOTHER WAS FINE UNTIL SHE CAME HERE!! THEY LET HER DIE RIGHT IN MY FACE AND DID NOTHING TO HELP HER.. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! GO ELSEWHERE.!! I WISHED I COULD'VE GAVE THEM A MINUS 0. DO YOUR RESEARCH.. I DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF THE GOOD REVIEWS. THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFETIME!!.DON'T COMPLAIN TO THE CEO HE WILL MAKE YOUR LOVED-ONE SUFFER. THE CEO KEPT COMING TO MY MOMS ROOM TO TALK TO ME AND HE WAS NOT NICE! I I FOUND ONE REALLY NICE NURSE WHEN I SAY ONE THAT'S WHAT I MEAN,THAT WAS TRYING TO HELP ME WITH MY MOM CAUSE NONE OF THE OTHER NURSES WERE NICE AND THE CEO CAME IN MY MOMS ROOM AND SEEN THE NURSE WAS BEING NICE TO MY MOM AND YELLED AT THE NURSE AND TOOK HER AWAY! THAT NURSE WAS NEVER SEEN AGAIN! I'M SORRY I COMPLAINED TO THE CEO ABOUT HIS STAFF CAUSE MY MOM GOT PUNISHED!! I JUST READ ANOTHER REVIEW ABOUT THE NURSES NOT ANSWERING BELL THEIR GOOD FOR THAT TOO.. I CAN GO ON AND ON.. THEY ALSO PLAYED WITH MY MOMS OXYGEN TILL SHE DIED TOO!!! THE NURSES KEPT SAYING DON'T LOOK THE NUMBERS CAUSE THEY'RE OFF AND HER HEART RATE NUMBERS KEPT GOING DOWN AS WELL THE NURSES SAID THAT MACHINE WAS ALSO NOT WORKING. THE NURSES WERE SO MEAN TELLING ME AND MY FAMILY THE OXYGEN AND THE HEART RATE MACHINE WASN'T WORKING!! REALLY!!! MY MOM BEGGED US TO GET HER OUT OF THIS PLACE AND I WAS DOING SO BUT HAD TO GO THROUGH EXTREME MEASURES TO HER OUT. I ASK FOR HOSPICE JUST TO GET HER OUT THIS PLACE. MY MOM'S KIDNEY DR. CAME IN AND SAID WHAT'S THE PROBLEM I TOLD HER THEY WON'T LET HER OUT AND SHE WENT OVER EVERYONE'S HEAD SHE GOT MY MOM RELEASE PAPERS FOR HOSPICE AND THAT'S WHEN THEY TOOK MY MOTHER'S LIFE BY TURNING HER OXYGEN DOWN . THEY KNEW MY MOM WAS GONNA COME HOME AND TELL US ALL THE BAD THINGS THEY WE'RE DOING TO HER THAT'S WHY SHE NEVER MAKE IT HOME!! IF YOU TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE PLEASE LISTEN TO THEM AND GET THEM OUT IMMEDIATELY. I TRULY BELIEVE IN KARMA! DON'T FORGET THERE'S A MENTAL INSTITUTION UPSTAIRS FROM THIS PLACE. IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THAT'S WERE THEY'RE STAFF COMES FROM. WHAT PLACE DO YOU KNOW THAT HAS ALL THE SECURITY THEY HAVE AND YOU CAN'T GET UP THERE TO SEE YOUR LOVED ONE UNEXPECTEDLY CAUSE THERE'S LOCKS ON EVERY DOOR. THAT CEO HAS HIMSELF COVERED!! I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS PLACE. I DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF THE GOOD REVIEWS! IF YOU TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY YOU WILL SEE A BIG CHANGE IN THEIR HEALTH FOR THE WORST!!!! PLEASE CHECK ON THEM DAILY! BECAUSE OF MY REVIEW HOPEFULLY THEY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND NOT DRUG YOUR FAMILY MEMBER! I KNOW THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE! THE OWNER WROTE THERE PATIENTS IN HIS FACILITY ARE CRITICALLY ILL SO HOW WAS THIS PATIENT ABLE TO WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT HOW GREAT THEY ARE TO HER?????

Everyone was great. They took very good care of my husband. The speech therapist worked very hard helping him to be able to swallow food again. Physical therapy helped him get up and walking again. They have all private rooms so it is nice to have the privacy for patients and when visiting.

I am currently a patient here and have received the best care SO far. The nursing staff is very prompt and take such good care of me. They are working with me to get me home to my daughters. Highly recommend !!! Robbin and Dee are great nurses, they all are BUT wanted to give a special THANK you to them.

My mom is a patient here and they have taken the best care of her. If your loved one needs a next level of care this is the place to take them. Staff is awesome!!!

Patient neglect!!!!!!!!!!!! Talking to a lawyer about this! They keep shutting the nurses button when he has needed help this is blatent patient neglect!!!!!

This is the best place that my mom got treatment for her Sophia cooper all The nurses and ll the doctor and therapy and wound docters I would recommend this hospital to anyone in a bad case of in fectiin for Care my whole family agree with this and there Ll very nice to her family

Don’t take your loved ones here.You ask for a nurse to move or shift your loved ones because they’re slopped or don’t look like they have been moved they will throw a fit “well I was just in here two hours ago and I wiped her face off them” or “well all the workers like doctors been in here today so idk what to tell you” from a nurse who instantly had attitude seemed ready to fight or flight kinda mood. Like wow. Great nurses soooo impressed. NOT. Also if you have IMPORTANT questions they will all tell you, well idk the answer every single nurse or doctor. No one will actually tell you. How does no one know. Mind blown. I worked in places similar to this for years and I never seen something this ridiculous before.

My Dad was put into this facility after he got stabilized at Ascension Madison Heights. He immediately started to decline and not much was done to address his main health concerns. It was quite clear from the start that they wanted me to "pull the plug", d/t my dad not getting any better. That's all they recommended from the start, was to let him go, as there was no hope for recovery. Staff was rude and stand offish. It always felt as tho they would prefer my dad to not be there. I can't explain exactly what it was, but something wasn't right. Yeah it looks nice and is clean, but staff is questionable. Please reconsider putting your family in this place.

Because of the excellent care here, my father-in-law was able to recover enough to have the valve replacement surgery he needed at another facility. They were willing to collaborate with another hospital to give him the special care he needed. Dr. Yazdani, his team, the pharmacist, and so many others like Albert, his nurse, all helped him, so that now he's successfully recovering at home. We're all very grateful for their detailed care.
