Their billing practices are horrible, almost crooked. After changing jobs and getting confirmation that they would take my new insurance, they waited a full year to tell me they, in fact, did not take my new insurance. I was hit with a $2,000 bill. When I disputed their billing, I was told that there were several errors made by previous employees and that someone would reach out to me to work out the proper billing. I felt that this was their mistake and their responsibility. I didn’t feel that I should pay for that. Recently I was sent a statement/bill for $670. When I called in to make arrangements on that balance, I was told it was $2,000 again. It seems to me that no one there really knows, or cares, what is going on and how it affects their patients.

Not a great experience. No one picks up the phone, you could try all day. You’re required to keep your CC on file, but they do not charge it within an acceptable timeframe. They do not have enough therapists for their office caseload. I switched providers months ago and today received a call that I missed my appointment. I liked Luiza, but cannot recommend this practice because it is disorganized and understaffed.

I just wanted to say Big thank you to the lady who answers the phone. Makes my appointments. Always finds a place to fit me in. If I leave a message she always returns my calls. Her name is HEATHER !!! I want you to know how much I appreciate you, for caring and kindness in the office or over the phone!!!THANK YOU

Front desk ladies are very rude. Other than that it’s fine.

Office staff needs to realize they are working with all types of people. The people have been so rude in the office recently I'll be finding a new therapist and psychiatrist, unfortunately. I should of read the reviews more closely. ?

The receptionists and the manager Julie are rude, their therapist practices EFT, which is proven ineffective by medical science. Asked them to provide records to my private insurance company, that I signed releases for. Gave me bogus reasons why they couldn’t. Then made me personally send it to them. Charged me copays, when they should not have. I sought a refund and got bounced around. They refunded 2 of 3 appointments. Couldn’t refund the one card because it had expired. I said calmly “you still owe me the money” Was told I was being rude. Still waiting on that refund, ten days later. Asked for a refill of one of my psychiatric medications, they couldn’t because “that wasn’t originally prescribed by their psychiatrist.” Even though the psychiatrist knew I was on it, I just forgot to have her refill it. Everything simple, you ask of them has some ridiculous reason they can’t do it. Your mental health will deteriorate just dealing with their ever so friendly staff. Oh, and about the other refund? I’ll just chargeback and let you guys deal withyour merchant account! Anyone potentially looking for psychiatric care Oakland Psychological, would do best to stay far away from them.

I've never had anything other than stellar service from Oakland Psych. Leslie & the other receptionists are wonderfully kind and I've gotten the best treatment here out of any of the many therapists I've seen in the last 20 years.

My psychologist at Oakland has helped me establish a good foundational framework for positive changes and personal development in the future. I am no longer afraid and know that I can finally move forward.

Closed my file without notice, even though I had an upcoming appointment after the Dr. was in India for 3 months. Horrible service at the front desk.

I took my son for some issues And the first appointment he probably said a total of ten words to my son and we were there over an hour. At a first appointment like this your suppose to communicate with the patient and family and get a feel for each other. I don’t feel that Tom did that, he wrote down what I had already written on the new patient paperwork the whole time and then our visit was over. He may have been assessing the patient with the paperwork given however while only speaking a mere then words to the patient I was not confident about the patient care and opted not to return.
