Charging me for an insurance company canceling payment on a check. When talking to a manager about it, she made it very clear to me that it's my responsibility to make sure a check is good before I cash it...how? Especially with this being an insurance company. It damn well best be legit. And even so, bill them! She refused, and to be frank, their service sucks lately. I used to love them but I won't deal with this kind of service anymore. You can have that $15, I'll go somewhere else!

On two occasions the auto pay service set up for my credit card payment did not go through after I had made an voluntary additional payment on my own. After the first time it had happened, I was given assurances that it would not happen again. However, it did happen and I was sent notices in the mail and I was assessed a late payment fee. I talked with the bank manager of the Dartmouth DR. location in Midland, MI. The manager could not determine why or how it happened. She also told me that it was my responsibility to assure the monthly payment is made every month. But, my feeling is: that this is exactly the purpose of auto pay. I do not trust Members First Credit Union and I certainly do not trust the clowns that work at the Dartmouth Drive, Midland MI branch!

I have belonged to Credit Unions my entire life and it pains me to leave a bad review like this. First, I am not a member, I purchased a motorcycle from one. I called on a Friday asking if they could verify a Cashiers check and give me a Release of Lien - yes. Unfortunately their loan department doesn't work weekends so too bad - they will email me a copy. Nothing, and when I call I am told they don't do that but will mail their member instead. 10 days later the member gets is and I can register my purchase - worried that the the Secretary of State won't accept an emailed copy I called the CU again and they promised that they would fax it to the SoS in plenty of time. Nope.I checked with my CU and they were paid for the Cashiers Check the first Tuesday - total lack of member service.

i went into the branch to get a form signed and stamped the lady did not help whatsoever, i gave her all the information i could and she refused to fill it out. Went over to the main branch on wackerly no issues, signed and stamped immediately.

Been a member for a couple years now. Have had 2 personal loans. I have become behind on my second loan because they didn't set up the auto pay feature like I originally had. Without notice they have locked my account. The app allowed me me to deposit my pay but no other transactions including my automated bill pay. Real nice Members First!

My husband and I have been faithful members for 24 years with our personal and business accounts. Cashing or depositing checks has never been an easy task, them holding funds for up to a couple weeks or possibly denying cashing completely. They have only once, in 24 years, given us an auto loan (with a very high % rate), when we have applied many times for auto or camper loans. After our last experience with them a week ago, I will be closing my last remaining account with them. I would not recommend doing business with MFCU. Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union has gone out of their way to earn our business, with their percentage rates on our loans being the lowest rates, and they will now receive all of ours business!
