I now live in Lansing and still bring my dog here. Hands down the best vet I've ever experienced.

This vet has terrible communication. We scheduled an appointment for a dental cleaning for our dog. After MULTIPLE miscommunications via phone and texts, we finally brought her in for the appointment and the ladies at the counter told us that we shouldn't follow the instructions in the texts, those are just sent out automatically.
A few hours after dropping our dog off, we got a phone call telling us that they PULLED OUT HER TEETH and want to pull out more at a later date. No one told us that they were going to pull out her teeth! Not that morning, not at previous appointments, not at any time had we been informed of this. We brought her in for a teeth cleaning, not for them to pull any teeth from her mouth WITHOUT asking for consent first! We didn't even get the chance to get a second opinion! The veterinarian insisted that they "only pulled four tiny teeth." Tiny to them apparently mean one of her canine teeth in the real world. The veterinarian also spent the whole time justifying herself and refusing to listen.
When we went in to pick up the poor girl that afternoon, they slapped a bill of EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS on us. WITHOUT TELLING US IN ADVANCE! And when we tried to explain our problem with their lack of communication, they handed us our dog's paperwork and told us to find another vet. And no, they didn't take any money off of the bill for us, either.
To add insult to injury after all of this, the front desk lady brought out our dog with BLOOD DRIPPING DOWN HER FACE! She was whimpering and bleeding as we walked out of the door. So much for caring about animals, huh?

I love the staff! The vets are very caring and take time to answer questions. We have two older pets and they help us keep them healthy, comfortable and happy.

The best vet in Southwest Michigan. Best prices, best staff, best experience. Will keep coming here as long as they will let me.

I would actually give zero stars if possible. The front desk staff were beyond rude and snarky when asked questions, I asked how much longer it would be for my appointment after waiting 20 minutes and the response was, I don't know they will call you when they are ready. I stated that I had been waiting 20 minutes and if I was 20 minutes late they would have given my appointment away or not seen me and I was just curious how much longer the wait was going to be since I took time off of work to bring my pet in. They offered to reschedule my appointment, I declined and continued to wait and only asked for one service to be done instead of the 4 we were originally being seen for. The rudeness and snarkiness only became worse after that. I called to follow up on the results from my pets testing and they couldn't find her file because she was inactivated because the front staff stated I was rude to them.

Rude front desk. General questions get snippy, rude, comments. Im not sure what makes these workers always the worst in customer service.

I was going to get my cats records sent over (from Wyoming) and come here except it was going to be a 3 week wait for an appointment. My cat had been throwing up and our old vet got her in the next day.

Our dogs enjoy boarding at Thornapple. They are excited to see what the other dogs are up to! The employees are friendly to us and our dogs.
