I rescued a puppy in detroit that was tied to an abandoned house with his mother. The new owner took the puppy here to get neutered, and the puppy was very scared and growling. Because of this, the veterinarian had recommended euthanasia. I don't understand how anyone could meet a dog one time and decide It needs to be put down. She stated that she has never met a puppy this aggressive before. Most puppies at his age don't go through what this dog has been through. I am disgusted that someone who we are supposed to trust our animals with could be so quick to judge and determine that killing a scared puppy would be the best option, especially knowing the owner was unable to bring the dog himself and had to have a friend bring him in a crate. She should have just suggested he come when he can get time away from work so he could be with him.
I went to see the puppy, Sammy, the same day and did not see any reason that he would need to be euthanized. What I saw was happy and loving puppy. I even took him to the pet store and did amazingly with everyone!!
Please choose another profession if you don't have patience or knowledge or compassion for animals who have had a history of neglect and abuse!!!! Added a photo of him saying hi to a worker at the pet store, the same day it was suggested he be put down.
And also this vet said, if you choose to do that, "We'd gladly do it for you". Just imagine if his new owner felt he had no other option because a DVM made the recommendation. A PUPPY WHO HAS HIS WHOLE LIFE AHEAD OF HIM.
So disgusted with this place and whichever veterinarian said this based on a single interaction!!!!

Compassion don’t exist in this building. Was the job done as said … yes. Putting a dog down is not easy.. feeling as an inconvenience or rushing the process is not what I expected there today. The dog was put down. This wasn’t just a bill to pay for me- this was family and wanted better for him.
From other comments I can see this was a similar situation.

They saved my dogs life! They got us right in within minutes of needing emergency treatment. If it wasn't for their fast response time she would have died.

Toni is one of the kindest vets I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She has helped me tremendously with TNRing the stray cat colony near my house. She also vaccinated my dogs at a very affordable rate. She’s the best!

I cannot say enough great things about this vet. I recently took my 8 week old GSD pup in for his first shots. He unexpectedly had a bad reaction and they were able to see him within 15 minutes of my call (they were closed at the time). Great people who care about the animals. I'll forever take my pets here.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Truly the best vet we have ever had. No nonsense or pushy upsells. Very competitive pricing and the feeling like they legitimately care about you and your animals. They truly see all creatures, too. They’ve helped us with cats, dogs, goats and chickens. Never a wait because it’s a small office, your appointment time is your appointment time, and save for a few instances when they’ve had emergency walk-in’s, I’m in and out in 15 minutes for typical visits. They have given us amazing care and help over the years. From newborn animals to end-of-life care for seniors and everything in-between; they have become a very important part of our animals well-being. It’s really comforting to know that no matter what we’ve got a truly caring office we can rely on when things go wrong, or just for yearly preventatives. When you need a vet, you want the best vet - and this is the place.

It’s taken over a year to write this. This was the least compassionate vet we have ever met - he referred to our beloved Newfoundland as needing to be “put down” and it was clear that animals are just that to him - animals. We took our girl there based on positive reviews. My husband left heartbroken at his callous treatment to our already fragile senior dog. If you’re looking for compassion- do NOT go here!

Toni and Doc did an amazing job with surgical casteration on my goat Bash. Toni told me about the process and gave me instructions for after care since I was new to it all. It's been over a month and Bash is healthy and happy little dude! Thank you for calming my nerves as a newbie goat owner and all the in and outs to care for him. Major plus and thank you for getting his twin sister up to date on her shots!Everything you did was greatly appreciated!!!
