I cannot shout praises for Jacob, Brittany, and Freeman enough!!
Jacob was assigned my route on two different occasions when I just happened to be stopping to get my mail. He went above and beyond both times! He's friendly, he's professional, he's efficient, and takes pride in his work. (A lot of carriers scatter mail EVERY WHERE, and Jacob actually was picking it up!) I know we have a substitute route, but am hoping that Jacob is assigned our route permanently!
While I'm here, I also must praise Brittany and Freeman, who work the counter at this location. I don't mail things often, so when I do, I'm clueless. They are always SO friendly, helpful, and tell me all the things I need to do to send something.
I know most people only leave negative reviews. However, I try to always leave the positive ones. And these three individuals deserve a shout-out, a kudos, a job well done, a THANK YOU! :)

Went in to ship a box and the guy Barry, in his 60s tall and thin, preselcted my shipping option for priority and then expected me to pay. It was an absurd priority price of $140 to ship a small box to CA. I was like, can you just send the cheapest, 4 day ground? And then he clicks on the next option that was $60, which was like next day ground. I again was like…no the cheapest option. He cut me off and was quite rude. Then finally picked the cheapest. I’m not confident he wan listen or hear well if I have to repeat myself to much. I told him to stop showing me shipping options if they are not the cheapest, bc I’m asking for the cheapest. Why would I want to ship a box for $140?? It should be obvious to show all the options iup front and not preselect options for me. He was quite rude about it and said its USPs procedure to select priority , which I know it’s not. I’ve sent many packages to CA from MI and have never been forced to select priority by USPS. Its no wonder this location has bad reviews. They are obviously just trying to make a buck.

Working for the post office is not easy. Yet the mail delivery people, those working inside at the registers, and those in the back work hard and efficiently. 99% of the time they are extremely kind, friendly, and helpful.
My guess is those who left bad reviews don’t understand how the post office works, expect their every need and whim be catered to without question, and are generally unhappy people.
Thank you Okemos Post Office for your hard work and helping me keep my small business side hustle successful.

Yet another mail delivery that was confirmed as delivered to my mailbox and is not there for the second day in a row. What are the odds. I'd almost say someone has something against me. Formal complaint incoming :)
Do not trust this location. They seldom get things done right. Unlike losing my mail or frucking up my change of address and so on. Place needs new management or employees.
Taking business to FedEx and UPS. It's a shame it's my regular mail, though, and I can't really do much besides move locations, which first off...no. Just do your job like everyone else in the world, how about that mail person. ?

The outdoor drop off mailbox is so high I can’t reach it and I am six to have long arms but it’s set up for people who have trucks and vans not cars and I hate it

I just want to take a moment and acknowledge how great this post office is. I was recently hit by a new scam online where the seller of an item ships it to the same city and zip code, but because it doesn't show the exact address it ends up showing as delivered Even though you never received it and it was never the item you purchased. Unfortunately apps like Mercari do not trust you and I had 72 hours to prove I didn't receive this or else the seller was going to get the money (400$) I want to say within 12 hours of talking to USPS, the okemos post office saw the case that was opened and dealt with it very quickly giving me the information I needed. Words cannot express how grateful I am for you guys doing that. The whole thing had me very very upset. So thank you!

Absolutely no level of customer service at this location. I've been sending the same 4x6 letter with a keychain for the last 4 years without a problem and today one of the guys insisted I have to send it as a package. Every time I go there, you can tell nobody enjoys working there and the customers have a bad experience. This is one business that could be automated. I'll just go to the Haslett location where the service is actually really good.

TLDR:-If you get the thin, tall-ish guy in maybe his 50s or 60s, pretend you’re getting an important message on your phone, smile at the person behind you in line and say “you can go ahead.”-eBay return packages need to have at least a 4x6 inch area to affix a label to (as of this writing, USPS does not specify this in their instructions). The complete saga:I took an eBay return there. I had selected USPS’ no-package, QR-code-only option. (Side note: I’ve used this option several times with Amazon/UPS without an issue.) When I got to this USPS, the employee told me the item’s box was not big enough for a label. I had brought the shipping package it came in, just in case I needed it, so I pulled that out. He told me that package needed to be closed, and they didn’t have any free tape. I explained that I had selected the USPS no-package option on eBay, to which he responded “the post office isn’t eBay.” I’m sorry, where do you think these shipping instructions come from? Do you think eBay just makes them up, then blindly hopes that USPS will follow them? Do you think they generate random QR codes and cross their fingers that when USPS scans them, it will mean something in their system? The instructions I followed were from USPS. And you can’t even spare me three inches of tape to cover your employer’s miscommunication. So I drove to Meijer like an idiot and bought some packing tape.In closing, feel free to search “Al Pacino Heat don’t waste my time” in YouTube (the six-second clip).Epilogue:Thank you to the employee who helped me when I brought the package back, who made me feel like I was talking to another human. Much appreciated.

These idiots don't even ring the bell or knock, they just put up a notice telling them to come pick it up and it pops up haha I guess they didn't want to bring it because there were a lot of deliveries hahahaha The next delivery didn't even put a notice in front of the door hahahaha They just put it in the mailbox at the management office and threw it away. Rude employees, they have literally yelled at me for dropping off packages in the drop off bin. Then the next time I brought them to them to drop off in person and they were mad about that and told me to use the drop off bin. Rude people that just don't want to work.
