The care my animals received by the veterinarians and vet techs was fantastic. However, the front desk and support staff could use some instruction on customer service. It was recommended I purchase a ProBiotic supplement for my dog during her appointment 3 weeks ago. She was being treated for colitis and received an injection in the office and sent home with 4 pills and 10 individual packets of the probiotics. I never needed to use the packets because she responded remarkably well with the other two meds. I have returned unused products twice before and my account was credited. The packets were still in the same bag I brought home. This time I was advised they would not accept a return and I could "donate" the product if I chose to. I understand the rationale behind this if the med had been a product that could be tampered with, this could NOT be done with individual factory sealed packets. If a question of contamination was a concern then why would they suggest donating it? I have taken my pets to them for almost 20 years with never a problem. This disappointed me so much that I called their office when I got home and requested they release all my records to Paw Paw Veterinary Clinic. They consented without question or concern as to why I would leave their office. I guess that should tell me all I need to know about how valuable their customers are to them.

I am obsessed with the care that my dogs have received from mattawan animal hospital. I've been bringing my dogs here since they were tiny puppies and they are now 6 and 7 years old. I moved across state and still take the time to come here!

I'll start by saying that Dr.Williamson has been so amazing to us and this review in no way reflects her. We are extremely sad to be losing her. After coming home from vacation in March, my two dogs developed kennel cough from daycare visits. They were both brought in and were prescribed medicine to treat them. Unfortunately, MAH was 12 pills short for the medication we needed. No problem, they made a note and they told me they would call when the rest of the pills were in. I paid in full and have an invoice showing this. I never received a phone call but fortunately my dogs both improved and made a full recovery with what we were given so I didn't reach out about the other pills. Fast forward to today, my dogs have developed kennel cough yet again and have been hacking all day and night. My first thought is to reach back out to MAH to pick up the rest of the pills that I am owed and have already purchased. There was confusion on the phone by one of the staff members at first and she told me they couldn't do refills without a vet's approval and they could ask Dr.W but not until she returns NEXT MONTH. I explained the situation and was told that there was no note in their system about me not receiving all the pills. She then insinuated that I wasn't being honest and told me they would only give me the pills if I had the old bottle, 3 months after using the medication. So not only was I not going to get the medication that could help my dog, they weren't going to give me any of my money back due to staff error on their part. We will absolutely not be returning to MAH due to how I was treated by their front desk staff. Shame on you MAH!

Pay attention people. Service and communication at its worse. The veterinarians do not pay attention to the records of the animals. They treat repeatedly with the same meds that are not working. They prescribe things for issues that have no relavance of what the issue is. After several visits I caught on and started asking questions. Told me I should make sure my pup is seeing the same vet every time. SAY WHAT! Pretty much got the run around it took a week to get a call back and when I started asking more questions I was asked if they could call me back. Then they asked if there was someplace they could send my pups records. WOW So as far as I am concerned they just wanted my money and more of it.
