We went for Jack O' lanterns Unleashed; it was great, very cool! Lots of very cool artwork on the pumpkins. Highly recommend for the entire family.

I went here for the Jack O Lanterns Unleashed. It was a nice walk and the art was cool. Some things for kids to do. There was a food truck and a drink stand along the path. There were real bathrooms. Not much else though. Seemed a bit pricey for what it was but I had a good time. It was a family friendly atmosphere.

This is about Jack O’ Lanterns Unleashed. Last year was the first time we went. I noticed many of the pumpkins were not real, but still had a good time. This year, we decided to go again. I thought the displays would be different but they are about 90 percent the same. But, they also didn’t have a lot of entertainment like last year, just one group of dancers. Last year, they also had superheroes, princesses and sci-fi characters like Darth Vader standing by pumpkins with similar artwork, but also interacting with kids for photos, etc. One kid almost lost her composure talking to Elsa. It was so cute. None of this was there this year. The blow up display that played music by the gate wasn’t there either. At $18 a head, I assumed the pumpkins would change or even there would be real carved ones? I watch Outrageous Pumpkins and there has to be artists in the area that would make new sculptures. The Wizard of Oz display I do believe was new. So was the volcano. I probably won’t be coming back next year. I would like to look at pumpkins without a seam and flecks of foam falling off. Why not have a competition with artists making new designs each year with real pumpkins? Like another review said, you could have kids carve real pumpkins, have both human and pet costume contests, other game contests, people dressed up like the themes to be in the field or the tents. I did like the guy inside the drink tent carving pumpkins with potatoes and carrots added. The tent offers a lot of cool photo backdrops. There are opportunities to buy beer or the trail and there are real bathrooms. The midway offers rides that are small but fine and some food trucks.

It's nice if you're going for the rides, but it's just not the same as what it used to be. There's not as many animals before age as seems like it's taken the back seat to the carnival

The Ingham County Fair gets better every year. 45 years ago our kids started 4H, and the first week in August was everything fair. Today we took our two grandsons, 6 and 4. We all had a fantastic time. Thank you to the many people who make the fair possible

My experience was at the rabbit exhibition. I asked if my grandson could pet the rabbit and the worker said no he doesn’t like to be petted. I’m an African American female. But when a white Caucasian family came up to the table she le there daughter pet the rabbit. I waited to ask her why my grandson could not pet the rabbit. She was caught off guard and the family of the little girl apologized to me for having to be treated that way. I told them thank you and left the fair in Mason.

I have been attending the Ingham County Fair & events held at the Ingham County Fairgrounds my entire life (and I'm in my 40's). However, January 29, 2023, I had such a horrible experience that I will never step foot on the fairgrounds again! I attended the Purse Bingo fundraiser for the Ingham County Fair Foundation. Let me just say this was the MOST POORLY PLANNED, POORLY EXECUTED, AND POORLY ORGANIZED EVENT, that I have ever attended! Alcohol was significantly over served to highly intoxicated patrons (I have videos and witnesses). They were whistling, whooping, and being obnoxiously loud. This table was full of wives and family members of Fair Board Members (whom the announcer introduced at the start) - many of the fair board men were working the alcohol table. I talked with these women and they informed me and the three other people I was with that they were married or related to Fair Board Members. One woman (the one the arrow is pointing to in the attached picture) asked me if "I wanted to go outside" when I confronted them about being disruptive. Seriously think she is in her 60's and she was so intoxicated she was ready to fight me. Of course, when I got up to go outside, she didn't want any part of it. I reported all of this to the announcer, I believe his name was Steve, and to the Executive Director, Lindsey McKeever, of the fair after bingo ended and absolutely nothing was done. Lindsey just became very defensive. Before I had barely even gotten the words out of my mouth, the Executive Director, immediately denied that this table was married or related to anyone on Fair Board, even though they had told us. The highly intoxicated women in the pictures were literally holding up their margarita glasses to men working the alcohol table and the men would deliver alcohol directly to them - they did this for no one else, but these women weren't connected right? They were closely associated with everyone volunteering/working the event, including Lindsey McKeever. I then asked what Lindsey what she was going to do about the overserving of alcohol. She then turned her back on me and wouldn't say anything else. I wish I would have just called the cops to handle this, particularly since an attendee was trying to fight me. Also, this table of highly intoxicated attendees were friends of the Executive Director, as you can also see by the picture of her at their table. This table also won more than half of the prizes, specifically this group that has connections to the Fair Board. I have attached the Bingo rules and laws and so many were violated. No players saw any of the bingo balls that were called, there was no display of numbers called, (at a minimum 2 players should view the balls as called)....only the workers. Nothing at all was in place to monitor and uphold the integrity of the game. Fair Board members and their agents are not allowed to play bingo and many were, which they even announced. The doors of the event opened at 11:30. Arrived around 11:50 and had to wait outside in the cold for over 30 minutes because they did not have an efficient system/process for entry in place. Even though I received electronic tickets, which could also be printed, they didn't even check tickets. Just looked for names on a list which definitely prolonged the check in process....would have been much faster if they could have just scanned tickets. There were hundreds of people in attendance, way oversold in my opinion, as for almost every game of bingo played 2 or more players (4 in several cases) had bingo and playoffs had to be held. I am an avid bingo player and have played many places and have never had this occur, so they did not order the correct amount of bingo sheets from supplier. Then the pace of bingo was UNBELIEVABLE SLOW! It took 3 hours to get through 17 slow paced games. The lunch that was served was absolutely DISGUSTING and the building was very cold!

The annual carnival is the best! Amazing rides and they even have mascots! If you are ever in Mason around the beginning of September that’s when the carnival is in town! Great food, great games, and great rides. They even have farm competitions and animals on display! Auctions are common too. Just make sure you don’t stay too long, 2-3 hours is optimal otherwise you may start feeling a bit tired and sick. The carnie food and rides are fun but they take a lot out of you, same with the loud noises common throughout the grounds during carnival time.
