Don’t tell anyone, but I believe I’ve stumbled on an honest mechanic. I had an oil leak. Of that I was certain. I’m ok with troubleshooting vehicles. I change my own oil, plugs, etc., but when I saw a huge puddle of oil under my truck, I didn’t want to take any chances. I’ve had a couple of really, bad experiences with mechanics in this region so I wanted to try someone new.I called Garrett. He is obviously quite busy and didn’t need to help me. He went out of his way to allow me to bring it by just so he could get a look and see if the root cause was obvious. I added oil and hit the road. Next thing I know, Garrett is under my truck and has identified the issue. It was (embarrassingly) a loose, oil filter. I have no idea how or why that was the case as it’s been quite a while since my last oil change and it’s only recently begun leaking, but the point is Garrett probably could’ve told me anything.Not only did he not mislead me, but he fixed it right there on the fly, topped me off, and tried several times to refuse payment. The world could use a few million more people like Garrett. I met his father while at his shop and see where Garrett gets his integrity from. I just want to publicly recognize him. I’ve had a few, bad breaks recently and really didn’t need a new, truck payment. Thank you, Garrett. I sincerely appreciate your kindness today. I guarantee I’ll be back in the future and next time I’ll wait my turn.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My diesel truck developed an oil leak while we were in the area on vacation. Garrett squeezed in a check on my truck, made a quick fix, and had me back out the door quickly. Finding a diesel mechanic anywhere can be a challenge. Thank you so much for taking care of my F350!

My husband and I were on a road trip and noticed we had a flat tire. Guffey’s was the closest auto repair to us. Garrett and Connor were so quick to help us with our tire. They are so incredibly friendly, helpful and kind. They are thorough and helped us get back in the road quickly.

After recently moving to Traverse City, I had a few problems with the battery in my car. Garrett hooked my car battery up to a computer, found the issue, and had a new battery in the car that day. Great service and great prices. Will be back again.
