This hotel is a bit dated, but the entire establishment is clean and inviting. The owner/ desk clerk is very friendly and accommodating. There is an indoor pool area with a hot tub that is well kept and spacious. For the price and the location, Hotel Manistee is a must stay.Rooms: The rooms are clean and spacious.Safety: The town this hotel is in seems to have been frozen in time. I stayed 4 nights and heard not a single siren. Nor did I feel uncomfortable anywhere I went.Noteworthy details: The beds are very comfortable and I was not disturbed during the day, as I had hung the do not disturb sign on the door.

Inexpensive, friendly staff, and room was very clean. There were also improvements being made to the building. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed 6 nights, smell of pot is strong, but that's in every store, restaurant, casino and home in mi. Get used to it. Room was very nice and clean. Only 2 towels.. yes. Don't ask the big emo girl with purple hair at front desk for nothing. She don't want you to have any towels, toilet paper or pool towels. Must be the owners daughter or she cant figure what her pronouns are , she's bad for business .All other employees were nice. Nice place. Sunrises are awesome there.

Very friendly staff and the hotel room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast area needs some work. The young girl doing the breakfast was on it keeping everything filled. The only complaint the first batch of eggs were discolored the peanut butter was bad and the honey did not taste right as well and there was no butter for your bagels or toast.Rooms: The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly/Food & drinks: The breakfast was not that good the eggs were old when we got there discolored there was no butter or cream cheese for bagels or toast. the peanut butter was very old and so was the honey.

My husband and I stayed Sunday - Tuesday. (Oct 2023) The room had a king bed, desk, 1 chair, small fridge and microwave and nice flat screen tv. It was very clean. Bathroom was a bit tight with toilet and tub crammed in with only enough room to swing open and closed. Our rooms window was smaller than the other rooms and looked out at the overhang and corner of the building the justed out there. A little disappointing since the hotel overlooks the Manistee lake, but we couldn't see it. It was an oddity for this room given the layout of the various sections of the hotel, so most rooms facing the lake would have a better view with no building blocking it, even with the newly constructed townhomes on the shore. While there we had the headboard fall off the wall as my husband leaned back against it, but they had their maintenance person in the room ready to fix it in less than 10 min. He was super friendly and offered to fix with us there or if we were leaving, would we care if he was in there to fix it. So thoughtful about our comfort level and plans for the day.Breakfast was a basic continental with waffles, toast, cereal, sausage, scrambled eggs, bread, bagels. I enjoyed the sausage links, eggs and a bagel with oj both mornings.Pool and hot tub were well maintained and room kept at a comfortable temperature with little humidity.Front desk staff was very friendly and at the desk every time I went through the lobby. For an economical traveler this is an excellent choice to get more than your monies worth. We would stay again if back in the area.Food & drinks: Several good pub, diner or pizza options within walking distance, up to about 1/2 mile. Short walk to river walk

Made reservation over the phone. Asked for a first floor room and was told that's what we have. Got there and they have us on the 2nd floor. I am handicapped and no elevator. I had to do about 12 stairs up and 12 down at least 3 times a day for 2 days. The lady at the counter was rude and said there are no rooms on first floor. Me and my husband stay there a lot but next time I'm up here I win stay elsewhere*********Update********** We gave the hotel another chance and Same thing happened again . Room was supposed to be first floor and was Not! As a handicapped person this is not good! Definitely will not stay there again.

We would like to lay to rest any negative reviews relating to the motels amenities. My husband and I had a two night stay this Sept. 2023. We are pleased to inform anyone questioning the quality of this motel to be assured: the staff were pleasant and accommodating, and the amenities are as stated on the website. The linens were fresh, the mattress was comfortable, and the room clean. For anyone wanting a place to get a good nights sleep at affordable rates. This is the place

CHARMING 70S MOTEL WOWThink the Grand Budapest after its renovations but before its demolition (LET THIS HOTEL NEVER BE DEMOLISHED), though smaller and more American.Rooms are CHEAP but PLEASANT. You're paying Super-8 prices but the pillows aren't stuffed with wood chips, and you get 2 TOWELS.Desk lady was quite accommodating, letting us check in early for no extra charge and providing me a souvenir hanger on my checking out.In my opinion, the GREEN MILE of MANISTEE is improved greatly by this institution. I hope they can get the rest of the exterior painted!

This hotel has a lot of character! Our room, and several others, once had walk out balconies that overlooked the back patio sort of area that gives you kind of a haunting glimpse into the past of what was once one of the city's finer establishments. Can't find any history of the place but there looks to have once been a tennis court and outdoor restaurant seating with a game room and tanning booths! The pool and hot tub were very warm, welcoming and comfortable. Much the same could be said of the staff. Cute, cozy, and wonderful prices to top it off!

Nice motel. Helpful staff. Only drawback is I didn't pack shampoo. Not a big deal but heads up if you go there. Clean. Good pool with great hours. Good price. Easy to find and convenient location.

The location is convenient however the recent outbreak and bedbugs at this hotel was awful. They put me in a room and I found evidence of bedbugs so they switched my room, and I found the same thing and the new room. There is mold in the Jacuzzi rooms, and they were use yesterday’s breakfast the next day.If you’re going to stay here, make sure you wear your hazmat suit to bed.
