The two service techs were both great. The Philippine support and sales staff just can’t seem to understand the nuances of the English language. But they do interestingly know how to shell game the numbers. Over and over they tried to tell me they were giving me a discount when it was the posted price. Just scammy, lousy and frankly sad that big business thinks we can’t detect their bullshit.
2024 October Update - WOW Still sucks but Comcast was just as bad before them. I got a new Sercom wifi modem this week and the problems seems even worse. Fiber hurry up.

I cancelled my service, and the associate said I would have to pay the balance manually because my auto pay would stop. That wasn't the case and they took the payment. I double paid. I'm owed a refund but have to wait 10 days and then 2-3 weeks for it to post. Unacceptable.
I cancelled my service because the cost kept creeping up and service going down.

Received a new modem from wow on oct 24 2024 activated the next day worked fine for 2 days the our internet started to freeze many times an hour every hour. Made a service call tech came out Mon oct 28 2024 replace wire from pole to house checked modem. Right after he left internet began to freeze again. Made a second service call tech came out on Tuesday oct 29 2024 he changed fitting on pole installed new modem second one in 5 days. Again after he left same issues. Called for third time for service told soonest would be Thursday Oct 31 2024 but my issue was escalated (guess that’s means it takes even longer to get someone out). Wow even added a $64 service call fee even though I was told no charge if it’s a wow issues. It Wii be at least 5 days till we have service due to WOW’s poor equipment was I offered a discount for all the down time of course not. I plan to call comcast and see if they can install sooner than WOW can repair.
By the way it took about 30 minutes to type this because internet froze 4 times.

Wow Cable – Predatory Practices, Fraudulent Billing, and the Worst Customer Service Imaginable
If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is a complete scam. Their so-called "customer service" is beyond pathetic, and their cancellation process is deliberately designed to trap customers.
I called to cancel my service, but the representative I spoke to could barely speak English—he sounded like he hadn’t made it past 3rd grade. I was forced to hang up and try again. When I reached out to their online chat team, Abel, and his supervisor, Fred, both dismissed my concerns like I didn’t matter. They refused to provide any help or solutions, telling me the ONLY way to cancel is to call back, wait on hold, and hope that the next person speaks English.
Their so-called "policies" are absurd and likely illegal. You can’t cancel in person, by mail, certified letter, email, social media, or on their website. According to them, if I were deployed, incarcerated, or even dead, they’d keep billing me because they offer no alternative cancellation method beyond a phone call. This is blatant fraud—it is illegal under state and federal law to knowingly continue billing for services they are not providing.
I switched to Xfinity because the Wow service didn’t work. Despite telling them through the chat (with my name, account number, and address) that my service had been disconnected at the pole, they still said they would continue billing me. I explained that I don’t even have their equipment anymore and provided proof that no signal is coming into my house. They didn’t care. Their rep literally offered me a $10/month discount instead of sending a technician, despite me saying I’d pay out of pocket for a fix.
This company is predatory—their goal isn’t to provide working internet; it’s to trap customers in a nightmare cancellation process and keep charging you even after you’ve left. They cannot legally bill for a service they know they aren’t providing, and their shady policies won’t protect them from state and federal consumer laws.
If you’re considering Wow Cable—don’t. Save yourself the headache and the fraudulent charges. They don’t care about providing service, just about stealing your money. My reason for cancellation is that my service literally didn't work, on a previous phone called through a massive language barrier I explained I needed a technician and that I don't care if I need to pay him I just need internet that works. I was met with $10/month off my bill. He simply didn't want to send someone or more likely had no idea what I was saying.
So I now have Xfinity, he unhooked Wow at the pole and at my house because I needed a new drop and a new line in my house because they were degraded by age. I informed Abel and Fred that I don't have any of their equipment, I have proof that their service isn't coming into my house and I provided my name, address and account number all in writing in the online chat to people who work at Wow cable and they did not care. They said they are still going to bill me until I call and cancel with someone that doesn't understand english.

I have contacted WOW every month since August 2024 to correct my account (ie. charged me $150.00 should have been $122.00). THEN to top it off I have attempted to pay on line and it tells me I need to contact customer service - sure!!!! Phillis does not speak English and I don't understand her so opted out of on line payment and am going back to good ole mail service and then WOW can charge me a monthly fee for that!!!! Currently looking at COMCAST!!!

I had AT&T U-verse for a while, but it was getting pricey, so I switched to WOW. Now, I regret that decision. With AT&T, my service outages were minimal, but with WOW, my connection drops so often that my hotspot is more reliable.
I can accept occasional outages, but experiencing them every few days is unacceptable. As for the speeds, they leave much to be desired. Honestly, WOW’s slogan should be, "You’ll Definitely Be Saying WOW, I Made a Mistake When I Joined WOW Internet."

I would give no stars if possible. I had WOW internet for years and thankfully didn't have too many issues with the actual service. The problem started when I moved residence and cancelled my service. I overpaid the bill so I was due for a refund. The overpayment came directly out of my checking account, so instead of a refund to the account, or a check being sent for the overpayment, they sent me a Mastercard prepaid debit with the amount loaded on the card. I activated it and tried to use it and it continuously gets declined. I call the number on the back of the card and in very broken english, which seems to be the norm with customer service with WOW as well, they tell me that there is a fraud alert on the card, even though I never used it. It literally has a balance of $38 on it. Where is the fraud alert coming from? They couldn't really provide an answer. They said wait an hour and try again, they are escalating it to the supervisor. I did even better and waited overnight. Tried again and once again it's declined. Now it's been a week and it's still getting declined. I called WOW customer service and explained the issue only to be transferred to the same number I called on the back of the card. I reached out to WOW again to ask them to just send me a check so I can put it back into my bank account and was told they couldn't help me because my account is closed. Here's the best part! The information packet that comes with the Mastercard says that they deduct $4.95 a month if it is not used. So basically, you don't get a refund, they will deduct that amount until it's gone and you can't use it before they start deducting the monthly "fee". WOW you need to do better, this is fraud. Stop sending prepaid cards for refunds that are unusable. Enjoy that extra $38 you got. I will NEVER use WOW as a provider again.

Deceptive advertising and pricing. I was offered free professional installation, a price lock and a gift card for the level of service that I chose. They charged me full price for the installation, and kept fraudelently billing me for it. I agreed to auto-pay for the best discount price, then they didn't take out the first payment by auto pay, making me late for my first payment. Then they said that I was no longer qualified for promotional pricing, because I was late for my first payment. I didn't include dollar amounts, because I think that it is against the Google review rules. I am still with the company, because I have to wait 3 months for Xfinity to consider me a new customer. I'm counting down the days.
