Bought a portable dishwasher from here and they claimed it was perfect. They gave me a "90 day warranty". Brought it home and it doesn't even clean the top rack of dishes (yes, I know, you have to rinse dishes before putting them in, he felt compelled to tell me that like I'm a clueless child) and produces a burning hair smell when the heat cycle is on, he told me that was normal and there's no way it is. I brought it back in and told him I wasn't happy with it and wanted a refund. He told me no refunds. So I said that's fine, at least fix it for me. He wouldnt even LOOK at it and I literally had it in the back of my car. So no refunds and no warranty even though it literally says 90 day warranty on my receipt. Go someplace else. Save yourself a headache. They pretend to be nice but are screwing you over

This place is an under appreciated gem! I’ve been here twice now. While on first glance it seems a bit cluttered and musty, I learned that just means they know exactly what, where, and how many of any appliance parts or tools they have available. Plus the wealth of knowledge and experience of repairing, which they’ve been wonderfully helpful for DIY!The first time I came here was for a gas oven igniter, I came with the part no. and model of my stove. The older man on a stool (never caught his name, sorry!) knew exactly which part I needed when I said the part number. He still double checked it with the oven’s model for me and gave me a few pointers on dismantling and reassembly I wouldn’t have known otherwise. The part was slightly more expensive than online (nooo, really??? things are cheap online??? Lol.) Truly the service and information was more than worth waiting days for a lower quality part and garbage foreign customer service if I had any issues to save a few bucks. Second time I stopped in to see if they had an electric dryer lint filter, which sadly they didn’t have in stock. However, the same gentleman who helped me before checked one of their local warehouse distributor’s stock for me before sending me over- where I got the OEM part at half the price of online!! Both my stove and dryer have worked beautifully since for only 60$.I highly recommend them if you’re a hands on repair person, this is the place to go for appliance parts. I’ve not yet had anything delivered personally, however seeing his son Billy remove a washing machine from a truck bed like it weighed absolutely nothing and with the utmost care spoke about his capability if/when I do!

Nicest people I have ever dealt with, great prices too. They came to my house took out my old washer/dryer and hooked up the new one, we’re entirely professional the whole time, and 100% recommend to anyone in need of an appliance. 10/10

I purchased a refrigerator from John R Appliance, and had it delivered. So far, I am very happy with my experience. After selecting the refrigerator I wanted, I had to wait a while before actually making the purchase. The unit needed a part. However, it was my choice to wait. I would rather have everything done correctly prior to the purchase, rather than rush and purchase something I would not be happy with. The refrigerator has a 90 day warranty, which I hope I will not have to use.Several people have mentioned that they won't go back to John R Appliance due to poor customer service. That is, the older man's grumpy attitude. There is no question about it, he is grumpy!!!!!!That was not an issue for me in the least. My perspective was, here is an older man, in a rolling chair, that is most likely in pain. I believe he is almost 90 years of age. Yet, instead of sitting at home and withering away, he was out and about.During my interactions with the older man, as an act of my own free will, I chose to ignore his rough edges. I chose to laugh, be happy, and wish him good health!!!!What I focused on was the fact that it is a family business, that has been operating for years. Their prices are reasonable. I sensed a pride of ownership amongst the others that worked at the store. Also, there was an "ingredient" that I find missing in many establishments. That missing ingredient is called "integrity".I believe it was the grandson, along with another man, that delivered the refrigerator. Both men went out of their way to make sure that the refrigerator was set up according to a standard of excellence.Based on my personal experience, I highly recommend John R Appliance. It is not a "pretty" place to shop. There are no fancy lights, and there is no modern showroom to walk around.Instead, it is a small establishment, and is kind of dinky. I only came across the store by accident, while I was searching for another appliance store. However, in terms of making what I consider a quality purchase, I think the place is a treasure...a hidden gem. However, it

It's a trip to read the reviews because they're all spot on. I suspect if you get in there when Ralph isn't there, you'd have a shot at a decent environmental experience along with a fairly priced product. On the other hand, you could experience the absolutely insane chaos that ensues when Ralph and his family start talking. He won't listen to you-won't hear or respond to your questions appropriately and is generally a bit abrasive. I respect my elders, but I'm in the market for a stove now and will not step foot inside that shop again-no matter how good the prices are.

Very nice family owned business, I was in desperate need for a refrigerator for my family. I walked in and found the perfect refrigerator for my family and I. I couldn’t thank them enough. They delivered it and took the old one out to my garage.

I called John R Appliance 2 days ago looking for a glass top electric stove. Over the phone, they told me that they had a 'great stainless and black stove that they just fixed up'. I asked about pricing and he said, '$275 plus $40 for delivery. I said that was perfect and I'd like to purchase it. I explained that I was about an hour away and the earliest that I could get there was Saturday (2 days later) and I asked if I could pay for it over the phone with my credit card, or put a hold on it with my credit card and then come in and pay cash. They informed me that 'they don't take payments over the phone but they could hold it if I was sure that I was going to purchase it on Saturday.' I said absolutely and asked their hours on Saturday...they said 10-6, so I said I'd be there at 10. He said make it 10:30. I said great and that I would see them Saturday morning. Fast forward to Saturday...I get to the store just after 10:30, walk in and say, 'hi I'm here to pay for a hold...I believe it's that stove right there.' The guy says, 'oh that stove was sold last night.' My jaw dropped and I explained the whole thing. The old guy with crazy hair (Ralph?) Told me too bad, the stove is sold and they didn't have anything else like it but that I could go down the street to different store. He also told me he didn't care how far I drove to get there or that they said they'd hold it for me. Frankly, I'm appalled at the horrible experience. I've purchased many times before, both putting a deposit down and walking in and purchasing. Bottom line, they didn't even try to make it right...it was just too bad that I wasted my time, gas, etc driving there to purchase something they never intended on holding. They could've been honest in the 1st place and I would've gone to store #2 first. With this experience, they've lost a long standing customer.

My refrigerator that came with my house was from John R Appliance and lasted 9 years despite its age! I was able to bring the old one back and get a new one and a ridiculously low cost. I couldn't even believe how easy it was and people I tell the price to say I got a steal. They are a family company which makes it all even more worth supporting them. Highly recommend-older used appliances last longer than the new ones!**update 9/22/22Shopped around for a dishwasher for a few weeks only to come back to my favorite appliance store at John our appliance. Best price and still the best customer service. Drove all the way from Holly Michigan and it was worth the trip
