Awful place, they ran a credit check and refused to rent the car. Never once on the phone settings up the rental was the credit check mentioned..I went literally 10 minutes down the street to Enterprise and was in and out with a NICER car in less time than it took for hertz to hassle me!

Terrible service, they gave me a damaged car and now they are charging me for the damage it already had, it is ridiculous that they give you a vehicle in bad condition and then they themselves tell you that it is not acceptable, plus the manager there has a bad service attitude

HORRIBLE management and customer service at this location!! The car I was driving ESC and ABS lights came on, car would not accelerate from stop lights or on the road if there was a hill. This happened as I was driving, asked my daughter to see if a Hertz was nearby. Luckily there was one a half a mile away we were very happy. Was able to get the car into the lot. Went into the lobby, told the person at the desk what was going on, he said there was nothing they could do and had to call roadside assistance. Asked again why they can’t help me they said it is a separate matter and had to call the assistance number on my rental agreement. Obviously was not getting an anywhere with that guy so I called roadside. Without going into how long that took, they told me I had to wait 90 minutes for a tow truck to come and pick up the car and myself and my daughter and drive us to Metro Airport which is 45 minutes away to get a exchange car. I told them I was a Hertz location in the lobby and there are 7-10 cars sitting in the lot.. they said they called and the location said they did not have any cars available. I once again, said I was at a Hertz location and I see nearly a dozen cars sitting here.. the roadside person said there was nothing they could do. As all this is going on there was NO ONE from the Hertz location to be found, two employees rushed by several times but would not make eye contact or stop and ask to help me at ALL. After going back and forth with the roadside assistance person on the phone it was apparent this was my only option. I asked both people at the location I was at if there was any way they could help us because I needed to get my daughter to her commitment we were driving to, they said no and walked away. As a last ditch effort to try and not spend the next 3 hours waiting for a tow truck to take us to Metro to do this exchange I asked what looked like a manager if there was any way any of the 7-10 cars we were standing in the middle of (we were outside in the lot) he could help us with he said these were not available.. he was saying this as he was pulling his belongings out of one car and putting them in another one. I told him this was ABSOLUTELY the worst customer service I had ever experienced. Neither him or the other guy asked if we were ok or to even speak with us while I was in the lobby. He said he was sorry, I said obviously that is a line. He did not stop once to see what he could do to help and with all these cars there was NOTHING they could do for us. He said they were not available..as he continued to move his stuff from one car to the next. Again, absolutely nothing than a blank stare after we spoke so it was very apparent the staff do not really care to offer any assistance or try to help us. Now we wait

DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. I have literally witnessed profiling of customers. I then personally experienced the most horrible customer service I’ve never had from Bryan. I have rented from them two times for business travel. The first car had a non working touch screen. And the second was a car with no hubcaps!!! I was basically told take it or leave it. For over $400 I left it. Clearly from the amount of reviews the mention him specifically he must be a member of the Hertz family. They need to shut down this location and move Calvin to a different location. He is the only person there that should be employed by Hertz.

We've used this Hertz location twice in the past three months -- once for a weeklong roundtrip to Florida and once while our car was in the shop for more than a week. My wife and I have both interacted with multiple staff members and had positive experiences each time, including getting our questions answered and receiving accommodations and upgrades at great prices. Shout out to Calvin and his team for taking good care of us!

Rental cars can be a nightmare, but I needed a car while mine was in the shop for a new engine. I was told by the dealer that this location had no cars available but when I called them directly they said they could help me. I arranged everything over the phone and then had my bf take me over there to get my rental. The paperwork was ready, they got my car (a Nissan Altima) quickly, and I was all set. The best part was the dealership was paying for the rental - and Hertz lowered the price so it equaled what the dealership reimbursement was. When I turned it in I kept waiting to see a charge on my cc bill, but I'm happy to report I did not get charged any extra fees or charges. The dealer indeed paid everything and the whole transaction was super smooth.

I know rental car companies are getting a lot of hate so I wanted to share a positive experience I had at Hertz in Madison Heights. My car was at the dealer for 3 months and the dealer was footing the bill of a rental car for me. I had to go back numerous reasons to exchange the rental car because of problems, sign a new contract, etc. and I always dealt with Tanae and she was so helpful, quick, and knew what she was doing. She was great to work with in a super annoying situation.
