My husband and I booked 2 nights at this hotel to be followed by 2 nights at the Grand hotel after that for 4 days our anniversary. The week before we left my husband was diagnosed with cancer. God willing, we hope after his treatment, we can still go to Mackinac island. The Grand Hotel was so kind when I called to cancel last minute and gave me a credit without any problem for a future stay. The Inn on Mackinac, on the other hand, was not only rude to us at such a sad time in my life, they refuse to refund us or even give a partial credit of any kind, or even a kind word. You don't forget that kind of treatment during such a low point in your life. I would stay at the Grand Hotel any day over this place. After the way the Inn on Mackinac treated my husband, who is now being treated for renal cancer, and I, when we had to cancel last minute because of the sudden diagnosis (which we were able to prove through letters and phone calls from his physician)...... It's just mean. They could not offer a future credit or even a kind word. Even if they couldn't have done a refund, they could have at least given us a credit. I just felt so crushed at the way the Inn workers treated me over the phone the same week I was facing the possibility of losing my spouse. The Grand Hotel, on the other hand was exceptionally kind.

I stayed here with my 13-year-old son and my mother who is in her late 60s. We all three enjoyed our stay here. The building is beautiful, the room was large, the beds were comfy, the location was great, the breakfast was decent, the spa pool was awesome, and the 24-hour coffee, tea, and hot chocolate was very nice. It's an easy walk from the ferries and into town. Bike rental options are across the street and also like two doors down. Our only complaint was that the floors in the room above us were sooooo creaky. I sleep with earplugs and they drowned out the horses clopping by and the ship horns my son said he heard, but even through my ear plugs I heard the creaky floor overhead! It would also be super nice if they had refrigerators or couches in the rooms that are that big. We could've used both. But I would stay here again for sure if the price was right. Recommended.

Great people, cute rooms. Quiet hours are 10:00pm - 8:00am. Its location is probably the perfect distance from the center of town while still being on the main road/walkway.Continental breakfast is great for vegetarians, but the lack of any meat for me (carnivore) was a negative. I wouldn't let it prevent you from staying here though. The staff were just so kind and friendly.Blow dryers are complimentary -- just ask at the front desk.Safety: The island is SAFE. The hotel felt safe and sound inside.Walkability: You can walk anywhere on the island and the hotel is close to downtown. If you're in a manual wheelchair you may want to use a taxi.

Listen, if you are going here in the peak tourist season everything will be overpriced, it's just reality right now. 4 adults split the double queen room for about $500ish and it was comfortable! We got a second story room that had direct access to side paths to the street and easy access coming from the pool (door only opens from pool area to street and not from street to pool area so you have to enter the pool area through the third floor). Location: excellent and easy. It is directly on the Main Street, about 5-10 mins walk from the ferry terminal. Staff: everyone we met was super friendly and nice. Perks: free continental breakfast! Toast, muffins, fruit, etc. and hard boiled eggs I believe. Juice, coffee and tea. They also can make espresso drinks if you ask. Hot tub! It was super nice with a little waterfall but it is WARM like 100F+. Overall a nice hotel and fairly clean. It could definitely use a good room update, the shower curtains are sad and the shower amenities are minimal (bar soap basically), and they could've given more toilet paper (we only had one roll) and towels in the room (and ran out of towels in the pool area). For the peak tourist season, it was a great choice for use and fit our one night stay of 4 adults perfectly.

I cannot see our family staying anywhere but the Inn on Mackinac when we visit the island. Our family had two rooms, and they were both exceptionally clean. Our view was lovely, and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the main street in the evenings. The breakfast they offer in the mornings had plenty of options to satisfy our whole family. Every interaction we had with the staff (our dock porter, front desk staff, housekeeping) was very positive. The location is perfect, too. Very short walk to the downtown area. We're already looking forward to our next stay!

My lady companion and I enjoyed a one night stay (8/6-8/7), at the Inn on Mackinac. Although the room was small, it was very clean and accommodating. I can't say enough about the staff as this review only goes up to five stars. Their attitude and customer awareness were well above the norm. We came to enjoy the sights and atmosphere of the island, but the Inn added much more to the pleasantries. Thank you for your professional attitude and helpfulness.

Great place on the Island! So many great little perks at this place, that many other places do not have on the island! Elevators! Air conditioning! Large Private Bathroom! Breakfast Included! Heated outdoor pool/spa area! Wrap around porch! Cookies in the evening! Fudge & coffee shop right in the lobby! I would stay here every time I visit the island, if I could! With all these extra amenities, they are often booked up as they should be!! Many people don’t realize how nice it is to have these extras on Mackinac island!! On the Main Street and Close to town without being right in the busiest area!! If you stay here you will not regret it!! All of the staff that we encountered were excellent, very friendly and helpful!! Keep up the great work!!Food & drinks: Great breakfast and evening cookies included with your stay!

The Inn on Mackinac elevates the experience of vacation and relaxation to an exceptional level. Upon entering through a trellis entryway, adorned with a diverse array of vibrant flowers, one is immediately immersed in the beauty of the front garden. The air is filled with a heavenly scent emanating from a wall of lilacs in shades of purple and white. The front staff are affable and efficient, ensuring a pleasant stay. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a selection of beverages, including coffee, hot chocolate, and an assortment of fruits from the breakfast room. The continental breakfast, served from 7:30 to 10:30 am, is satisfying and plentiful. The carpet, soft and comforting, provides relief for our weary feet after a day of exploration by foot and bicycle around the entire island. The room numbers, uniquely inscribed in ceramic, contribute to the inn's Victorian charm, transporting guests to a bygone era. Our own room, number 309, boasts a private terrace complete with a deck table and four chairs. The sheets are pristine and crisp, while the pillows offer a cloud-like softness.Although one can discern muffled voices from adjacent rooms and the occasional creaking of the floor above, these sounds only add to the inn's charm. They blend harmoniously with the distinctive auditory tapestry of the island, including the rhythmic clickety-clack of horses' hooves on the streets. Notably, the second floor houses a delightful common room, and its accompanying terrace grants a panoramic view of the front garden, perfect for people-watching or admiring the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets of Mackinac Island. In terms of proximity, The Inn is conveniently situated: a mere 8-10 minutes from dock 1, 10-12 minutes from downtown, approximately 15 minutes from the boardwalk, 16-18 minutes from the Grand Hotel, 5-6 minutes from Fort Mackinac, 3-4 minutes from St. Anne's Church, 5 minutes from Doud's market, 8-10 minutes from the golf course, 10-15 minutes from Mission Pointe Resort, and 20-25 minutes from The Arch when ascending 207 steps.

Rooms are big for Mackinac. We were surprised to find a small balcony. Great location just outside downtown.

Everything was amazing, will come back next year for more days. Breakfast was awesome, particularly for tired parents who don't have to cook. Rooms were sweet. The hot tub awesome, but please turn down the temp. Even in the cold evening it was way too hot. During the day I wanted to take a dip and it was unbearable in the 70 degree weather. A 100 points to staff!!!

I really like this place. Had a great time. The room was nice. Easy to get from room to outside in minutes. Didn't try the pool. Bike rack on the side to lock up your bikes. It's an more than 150 years old and it's not the 4 seasons but it doesn't pretend to be. Probably the smallest bathroom I've ever experienced. Had a view of the harbor and there is a giant lilac bush next to the hotel. If you are not too picky about things I would recommend staying here. The bed was good. The TV and internet was not but I didn't go there to watch TV. Has good phone connection.

This is an awesome place to stay. Not too far from downtown, but far enough that it's quiet at night. This place is huge! Doesn't look like it from outside, but once you're inside, it makes you wonder how they fit so many rooms. The place is very clean. The employees are very kind and helpful.Walkability: It's an easy walk to all the stores and restaurants.

Good place to stay provided the price range. Has a spa and good view from rooms. Clean place with amazing breakfast options. Try to avoid top floor rooms, can get really hot during summer.
