My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Candlelight Inn! Melanie is an attentive host that ensures you feel welcome and taken care of. She makes excellent breakfast and desserts everyday as well as keeps the freezer stocked with various kinds of ice cream. She’s also considerate to guests’ dietary restrictions, making vegetarian versions of her breakfast items and having dairy free milks etc. Our room was the perfect size for our 2 night stay, including an ensuite, tv with an Amazon fire stick, ac, sitting chairs, and queen sized bed. Our only note was that the ac was a bit loud and the curtains/blinds were thin (we’re used to blackout curtains, so really it was an “us” thing). The Inn is in walking distance to downtown shops/restaurants, as well as has nice outdoor seating areas to enjoy. We will be recommending the Candlelight Inn to all of our friends and family for their next getaway!

Wow!! That one word describes the entire stay at this b&b. The breakfasts are amazing with something new every morning, make sure you try the potatoes, you will be amazed! Not only are the breakfasts amazing, so are the desserts in the evening. From cakes, to cookies, to a variety of ice cream and toppings everyone can find something they love. The rooms themselves are also top notch and are perfect to the tiniest details! For example each room has wine glasses, and a cork screw to enjoy a glass of wine after a long day of adventures. The rooms are exceptionally clean and cozy!

Melanie is an amazing host and will make sure you have absolutely whatever you need. We've visited every year for 6 years running, if that tells you how much we love it!
Rooms: The rooms are always clean, small but cozy. They have new smart TVs and each has a private bathroom. The Romantic Retreat room has a huge jacuzzi tub!
Walkability: About a mile walk to downtown, with historic houses and shops along the way.

My husband and I really enjoy our trips to the Candlelite Inn bed and breakfast! Melanie and her sons are beautiful people and they provide for a very relaxing get away! The food is fabulous, the inviting smell of baked goods and lovely atmosphere all make this an exceptional bed and breakfast! We love it!

My daughter and I loved our stay at the inn. It was charming, quiet, and easy to get around to kitchen etc. Breakfast was delicious, the staff was wonderful, and I enjoyed the special touches. I enjoyed watching the cat outside ( which didn’t belong to the inn, but you are kind enough to feed it). I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely experience! Warm, welcoming, and cozy! My husband and I stayed for our 10th wedding anniversary in November, 2023. We had the romantic suite, which is on the first floor, has a jacuzzi tub, and king size bed with a small electric fireplace. The baked goods that Melanie has available all day are DELICIOUS. She has you choose your own time for breakfast, and is happy to make a menu specific for each guest. Her son makes very good potato hashbrowns! Would recommend to others to stay here!

In a word, charming. In a few more words, we had such a wonderful time in the “romantic retreat” jacuzzi suite. From the chocolate strawberries to the lavish breakfast items, everything was nothing short of spectacular. Melanie and her sons are warm, welcoming, accommodating hosts that embody the word hospitality. For two tired, overworked parents this was the perfect weekend away from it all.

Wow what an incredible experience! Melanie is the sweetest and so much delicious food and snacks. The house is so beautiful and charming. We even go a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon suite. If your looking for a great bed and breakfast in Ludington do not pass this place up they are the best! Id give them 10 stars if I could. We will be back again.

Beautiful home. We stayed in the Victorian room. Extremely nice people. Incredible breakfast! So many treats, food adrink options. Those hashbrowns! We stayed in Ludington overnight to go to Silver Lake. I loved Ludington too! Wish we could have stayed longer. We got food for the Dunes from the Q smokehouse. Had a drink at the rooftop of Blu Moon, fish and dip from Bortell's Fish market though there is another place in town Fish Keeper's. So many good restaurants to choose from, but we were only there for a short time. We also checked out the Ludington Hydro Dam. I highly recommend Candlelite Inn.Rooms: Rooms have a movie channel at 500 and DVD collection downstairs. Quaint, clean, great attention to details.Nearby activities: The hydro dam, the port, downtown, shopping, little bars, many restaurants, beach and more!Walkability: This place is within walking distance from downtown if you like to walk, if not a short drive.Food & drinks: Excellent food at Inn and downtown.Noteworthy details: It was built in 1905. There are at least 3 nooks in the back to hang out at. Very pretty.

My husband and I have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before but were looking to do a relaxing overnight for our 29 th anniversary and found the perfect spot! Melanie and her 2 sons were amazing host and go above and beyond! We were greeted by our names, taken on a tour of everything that was available to us from cake, fudge, ice cream, chocolate covered strawberries, popcorn, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sodas, cheesecake, and warm just out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. We were told that we were to make it our home away from home. The romantic room had the softest sheets, a jacuzzi with heart candles all around it, beautiful glassware, chocolate candy all around and a gift basket with treats too.The breakfast in the morning is served on the front porch with 2 kinds of meat, house potatoes, fresh fruit, coffee cake, French toast, egg bake, soufflé, and anything you can imagine to drink—even fresh squeezed Oj! It was amazing! We were spoiled for our first experience and not sure anywhere else will ever compare! We will be staying here again!Thank you Melanie and sons for an amazing and relaxing time away!!
