I've recently started to frequent this Kroger when I need a few staple items. Seriously, I usually wander around most stores looking for new products and clearance items. Kroger is great for this.

Only good thing about this place is Starbucks the people are honestly AWESOME!! The self checkout clerk is beyond rude and will talk about other customers to customers, every time I've gone to this Kroger early in the morning it's been nothing but a bad experience with this one worker she has an attitude every time and begins to throw my groceries down after scanning, she clearly hates her job and I would highly recommend her to be trained again with how to give a customer a better experience possibly her just staying quiet would resolve ALOT!

I have lived within a 1/2 mile of the Kroger on 8 Mile in Livonia, MI for almost 30 years. I remember when they were open 24 hours! It's been my favorite grocery store to shop. That has drastically changed over the last several years, & more recently the last several months! While there are some wonderful, friendly & helpful people there (Brandon - the tall young man in produce is AWESOME!), sadly the majority of my recent experiences have been with some bitter & nasty employees who show nothing but disdain for us customers & treat you like you're an inconvenient bother. Recently while checking out, I was the only customer in the line & it was the only line open that I could see. The cashier said something along the lines of she wasn't feeling good, while she was turned & facing me. I said, "Oh no! You're not feeling well?". She then told me that she wasn't talking to me & that I needed to mind my own business! She said that that's why they don't like to say anything in front of us customers, because we jump into business that's not ours & are so nosy! I was totally shocked! I explained that I was not being nosy but concerned because she said she wasn't feeling well. She said again, that she wasn't talking to me & I needed to mind my own business. I asked who she was talking to because I was the only one in her line. She moved aside, & pointed 2 lanes behind her where a lady was standing alone, & informed me she was talking to her 'manager'. What's even sadder is that her 'manager' heard what she said to me & the attitude in which she said it, but did not say one word to her or me! Also, on quite a few occasions I have been overcharged for items. Most of the time I catch it, but sometimes I'm in a hurry & don't notice the overcharge until I get home. Michigan law states that if you are overcharged for an item ... You are entitled to receive the difference between the displayed price and what you were charged. You are ALSO eligible for a "bonus" of ten times the difference between the two. The bonus must be at least $1.00 but it may not be more than $5.00. " Recently I purchased some bakery items on the clearance shelf with a 50% off sticker, they rang up full price. Twice I caught the error before my order was totaled & the price was corrected. But twice I didn't notice until I had gotten home. The second time I went back for the price adjustment, they called a manager over (happened to be the same 'manager' who witnessed the previous cashier being rude & nasty, & said nothing). The manager tried to give me a hard time about getting the extra $5. When I didn't accept that explanation, she very rudely said 'Fine! I don't want to have to deal with it! Just do it!' & instructed the girl to make sure she wrote that I was refunded on the receipt. She insinuated that I was trying to scam them. The truth of the matter is that if they don't want to pay the $5, then they should quit overcharging! Just with myself I have been overcharged 4 times on bakery clearance items alone recently (twice I caught it, twice I went in to get the price adjustment). Instead of talking to the department & making sure they are putting the correct 50% off bar coding - they choose to get upset with the customer that keeps getting overcharged!! This same 'manager' has also felt the need to scold myself & several other customers who were in the self check-out & checking out at 9:55p (5 minutes before the store actually closed), for shopping so late & not shopping earlier! Very presumptuous of her because she doesn't know anyone's personal circumstances, nor should we need to explain to her, or get permission to shop when we are able to! Between these several instances & the general attitude of rudeness & being made to feel like I'm a bother, I will be choosing to spend my hard earned money

Store just went through a renovation but staff need an overhaul. Rude and unhelpful. Last few times been treated as an inconvenience. I love to support my local store but will be shopping in Northville from now on. Cashier literally through my bread and a closed sign on my food, tearing open my sausage and didn't apologize. All while I was bagging my groceries trying to be helpful. Makes me wonder if they are treated poorly by management. They show no concern or friendliness to customers.

Long story short but this is the worst Kroger I've ever been to. Empty shelves, very few items in stock and messy messy messy

The parking was a little bit messy at this Kroger, as there were some sections in the parking lot that were closed off. But other than that, this Kroger store was just fine. I was able to find the grocery items that I was looking for with little to no problem. Although I personally found the section of the plant-based milk that was completely away from where the regular milk was located to be a little counter-intuitive and honestly a tad confusing, but I was eventually able to find the plant based milk I needed. I'm also excited that one of my favorite cereals was sold at this Kroger and it was on sale. We love the "island vanilla" flavor of sodium-free Kashi cereal that's super hard to find in the SF Bay Area but is abundant here in this area - we're so buying a couple boxes to bring back to Cali :)

Worst Kroger I ever go to. Every time I go in that store I walk out disappointed for some reason or another. Constantly missing stuff that other Kroger stores have. Today I walked in and walked out empty-handed that's how many things were missing.

I killed a whole forest by selecting curbside pickup. I'm not kidding. 16 paper bags for an order that was under $100. I kid you not... there was a full paper bag to hold one bag of five roma tomatoes. Another bag for a bunch of bananas (5) and a box of crackers. Another bag for two boxes of cereal. I usually go into grocery stores with my own bags. So the environmental part of me literally screamed inside when I saw how inefficient and wasteful this was. If I had to bag everything, I would have been able to do it with 6 bags. 16 is absolutely outrageous. And paper bags are not cheap!!!! Kroger you should look into this... Anyway. Overall this is still a better option than Meijer seeing that Meijer can't get it together to complete their orders in the first place. The produce is in better shape than Meijer as well. Between the two, I would chose Meijer if you are in the Livonia, Farmington or Northville area.

They must add coloring to their meat to make it look ok on top. I purchased Ground Chuck yesterday and when i got home and opened it the inside and bottom were brown, however the top was normal looking. I took of a pic of the meat b4 returning it this morning. Imagine if I consumed it.

DO NOT BUY ribeye steak from these people because it's not. It's a different cut of beef disguised to look like Robert and totally unchewable

Super disappointed in this Kroger. Overall they have been on top of stocking lately which is awesome. Employees are nice I actually know someone who works here. Unfortunately lately the produce & some of their products aren't fresh.. Over the last few months I know how difficult things have been and I am such a patient person. I have found expired things on the shelf. I get it, that happens.. I live a mile away. Over the last few months the produce shelf life has been AWFUL we have had fruit go bad within a few days, yogurt, cheese that had mold in it within two weeks when the date says October!! Of course they aren't taking returns.. no one is.. Twice my boyfriends mom purchased shrimp, used it within a few days and when she was cooking it the smell was awful and it had to be thrown away.. TWICE.. I was so frustrated last week with the cheese that I had just purchased I went in and demanded they swapped it out. The guy was very nice but they still aren't doing returns. I said I just want to swap it out. They finally let me.. I felt like they thought I was some kind of crazy thief. They acted like my story was non-credible. Ive thrown out about 50 dollars worth of food due to it going bad just days after buying it. Ive had food in my fridge for WEEKS without an issue.. Im not sure if Krogers distributors are having issues right now but this is so frustrating. I will definitely go another few miles out of my way and even pay more for the shelf life of my produce and food. Sorry Kroger I don't plan to return for most products. I still may come here for a few dry goods but my advice to people reading this is just make sure you plan to use the perishables within the week! Also if you plan to shop here plan to use exact change or to round up.. not down! They now don't give back change.

I normally like this Kroger, and I was glad it was open until 11, because I hadn't grabbed anything for dinner after my own day of working with customers in a retail store. I got here at 10:40, and I felt bad because I knew it was late, and they want to go home. But I had four items, and I was using the self-checkout, and the older woman running it had closed half of the six checkouts down--again, understandable. I know they are ready to go home, too, and I respect that. But she didn't HAVE to treat me like I was some kind of monster when I first walked up to an already closed checkout. I did not appreciate it. We all have days when we're tired and done and just want to go home. I get it. But there's no call for treating people like they're unwelcome in a store that, late though it was, was still open. I needed no actual assistance, and I was trying to get in and out as fast as I could out of respect for a woman who treated me with no respect at all.

The most disgusting Kroger around... 1) Fish smell upon walking in, 2) rat in the juice aisle, 3) warm dairy coolers, 4) overflowing toilets, 5) rude & incompetent workers. This store has gone from bad to worse to now completely unacceptable. Save your time/money/health, and shop elsewhere!

I'm a vegetarian and appreciate the selection Kroger is now offering. I do wish they would carry Quorn roast and lunch meats by Lightlife. Tofurkey isn't something I enjoy as they have no flavor.

The floral/balloon department is always a nightmare to deal with. You have to ask many associates just to hope for someone to show up and help blow up a balloon(which ended up being under inflated). Not one employee is friendly or customer service oriented. The only reason to go here is if you need a few grocery items. Otherwise, head to the Haggerty location or another grocery store entirely.
