Friendly staff, very helpful! Even though they didn't have an ancient faucet part I was looking for, the gentleman suggested several places who mightbhavebit.

Sold me a defective product, agreed that is was not a full container but would not make things right. I shop there often but will never again. I would support them in spite of the fact they are more expensive then the other hardware stores, but they basically called one of the stores regular customers a liar. I have dropped 300 the last month in other hardware stores, will take the other 3k that I regularly spend elsewhere and suggest others do also.

Great hardware store! Knowledgeable friendly staff and just about everything you need in a hardware store. It's always my first choice before the big box store.

A shame that a store that I use regularly and is 2 blocks away would sell me a compromised liquid product, agree that it was not full and not allow me to return it because it was opened. I said that I would not come in and lie to them since I do the majority of my shopping there, of course they agreed and did not return it essentially calling me a liar. I will never set foot in there again, and have dropped 200 in great lakes hardware these last 2 weeks. Now my 3k a year I spend in there might be a small amount to them but i am not the only one. My friends at Hunts hardware will get the money now and will thank me since they have class and promote customer loyalty. A one star review here is only because the option for no stars is not available.

Well I try to help out my local community by supporting local businesses. Not any more. I am going to help support my family. I bought a pop up canopy and it broke in less than 2 weeks. I went to True Value where I got it to see about a replacement. The cashier ignored me, I finally talked to Christine who did care a bit and said well it was used I can’t take it back. I will now help my self out and shop at the big box stores. It is cheaper and I guarantee Home Depot would have exchanged it no problems.

Although they did not have one item I needed, they had everything else I went in for, and they went out of their way to be helpful. Wish I had known there was a charge to use credit cards prior to purchase, but will know for next time to use cash only. I'll be back.

The owner of the store is very rude I saw him arguing with a gentleman and he actually pushed him I had several items I was going to purchase and when I saw that I put them back and left the store frankly I think they're way overpriced

Like many others have noted, I discovered a $0.79 "Non Cash Adj" added to my bill because I used a debit card. The cashier told me my total was $8.25. I found it odd that she took my card to insert it into the chip reader (which was facing her), but didn't give it a second thought.I did not notice the actual charge was $9.04 until a few days after I made my purchase. I like shopping at local hardware stores, but won't go to this one again. There is a much better True Value at 9 Mile and Farmington Road. That store is better stocked, friendlier and more helpful. Oh, and they don't scam you with added (and hidden) "adjustments."

I also was scammed for the .79 non-cash adjustment. For the past couple months I have been making a few purchases there. not one was I told that there was a fee for card usage. I'm gonna check my prior purchase reciepts and try to get a refund for these fees! Kodets is the only true value stores that charges a credit card fee. If I were you, drive the extra few miles south on Wayne Rd and go to Northside True Value Hardware. They don't charge fees and their employees are knowledgeable and the store is well stocked. Bottom line is don't shop at Kodets, I never will again!
