I tried 2 rooms at this hotel this weekend. the 1st had a smoke alarm going off so I switched to another room but that was filled with a perfume smell so bad even opening the windows didn't clear it. The hallways are super rundown, the window latch in the 2nd room (although on the 4th floor) was broken and the pillows were old/yellowed under the cases. I had to move out of the hotel that same night. The front desk staff was very kind & accommodating for the issues. Location isn't bad if you can get a nice room. Just another old hotel in Detroit area that needs a lot of work done on it.

The only bad part about this location is that there is quite a bit of construction happening in the area. This Residence is located very close to many restaurants, bars, and shopping centers. It is the old style Residence Inn requiring you to go outside to get to the free breakfast. Not a big deal when warm, but during the cold months it would be no fun. I found the room to be just fine and it met my needs.

Nice location but really poor rooms for the cost. There is no reason this should cost so much. The lighting fixture had a hole in it, the bathroom door wouldn’t close or lock, the bath tub faucet wasn’t connected to the wall. Smelled bad, and so much more. Heard what sounded like a kidnapping in the very early morning.. would not recommend

Spoke to Kayla at the front desk and after asking for a manager she LIED and said there was no manager available. Kayla SHUT IN MY FACE. Disrespected me and I have it all on audio. When I called back a “manager named Courtney” informed me there was no rooms available for me because of my “ATTITUDE”. I’ve been here twice in 2 weeks spent hundreds of dollars only for them to decline me entry due to my attitude. So they lost me as a customer and lost 150 for the day all because I asked for a manager for being disrespected by Kayla. They told me call on Monday to talk to the supervisor or manager but I’ve never been to a place that let their employees refuse service to a customer who’s been there many times. Illl never be back. I’ll make sure all my friends don’t come back either. Can’t wait to speak to the manager on Monday. These 2 ladies let emotions waste hundreds of dollars because “I asked for a manager and was rude” when I’m reality I have everything recorded and Kayla was extremely rude. Especially for a customer who’s been there many times. If you value your self respect stay away from this place who doesn’t respect hard paying customers.

This place is not clean. We paid $155 a night after tax. The bathtub faucet was completely detached from the wall. The carpet is gross and dusty. The halls smell like a rodent exhibit at a zoo. The maid was sitting in the hallway on the ground FaceTiming someone when we walked outside this AM. Our neighbor said his bathtub drain didn't work hardly at all.Elevator was dirty and old. At 6:50 this morning I woke up to a woman screaming about getting in a car that 2 people jumped in and drove off in before I could even tell what kind of car it was through the window. (I am on the top floor/4th). The coffee in the breakfast bar was so weak and burnt tasting. Shower water pressure was very low and did not get very hot. Bed was very uncomfortable- (table top hard so maybe you'll like that if you prefer that kind) This is embarrassing to Marriott. Decent things- there were Jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches at the breakfast bar & the concierge was nice at check in.

Rooms are ok. But the staff is VERY VERY NASTY! They charged my card $200 for being 15mins late after checkout time. Needless to say they will be receiving a call from my Attorney. Not to mention for the last few days there was a loud jack hammer noise penetrating through the entire building. Had to almost beg for them to come clean the room, the beds are uncomfortable, the whole experience was a 1 out of 5, mainly because of the nasty receptionist at the front desk.????

There was pet hair all over the room. It took them a week and half to finally cleaned it. Housekeeping never cleans your room even after many requests. The manager lies about putting points on the rewards account. I was there because the company set the room up but I finally had enough and left the hotel after my room not being cleaned for two weeks.

Based on my experience with this property I would NOT stay here. If you are on any discount as an employee of Marriott they will treat differently. The housekeepers do not speak English and will wake you every hour after 8. I'm not sure who is in charge but they should teach their employees a better verbiage than what they have. Being on a discount should not negate the fact that I am unsatisfied with my stay but it did. Being in a doc should not allow you to not uphold the standard and of marriott. Marriott treats their employees great so that they can treat their guest amazing and today I did not feel that. Just book the Fairfield Inn Livonia it's safe affordable and clean.

I recently booked a 10-day stay at Marriott Residence Inn, thinking it would be in line with past Marriott experiences. Let's just say, this one was...unique. I had to bail out after 4 days. The fact that I lasted that long should give you a clue that I’m pretty low maintenance.First, the décor. It seems like "stained chic" might be the new trend because it's everywhere - walls, carpets, and furniture. This left me creeped out any time I had to touch something.Based on a survey of the exterior, about 20% of the rooms had ductwork for portable air conditioners coming out the windows . I was lucky enough to get one, and gave my room an odd 'DIY fixer-upper' vibe, with the added benefit of a full time loud humming noise in the room. Not what you’d expect for the price. I asked the front desk if I could change rooms, but the guy at the desk indicated he had no way of knowing which rooms had them, and couldn’t guarantee I wouldn’t get one in the next room I moved to.While I’m no entomologist, I did become quite familiar with the spiders and pill bugs that decided to share my room. An experience I could have lived without. Pretty sure the spiders weren’t poisonous, but once you’ve seen two the size of a quarter, you start to imagine them everywhere. The omnipresent aroma of curry was hard to ignore. Oppressive is the word that comes to mind. While I appreciate diverse scents, this was on the overwhelming side. And the shower? Let’s just say mold isn’t on my list of required amenities.Perhaps the biggest head-scratcher was the pool. Covered in August. Not that I was going to swim, but it gives an idea of their philosophy on maintenance. On top of that, a heated domestic dispute from down the hallway kept me debating whether to call 911. Fortunately, (…and this is the truth) a tornado came through about that time and seemed to distract them enough to deescalate the conflict.Dear Hilton Hotels, I’m sorry I cheated on you, never again.

Dog in 204 has been barking for hrs. The whole place needs to be updated. Also no pool. Make sure you ask for a receipt of charges in paper, they charge for parking.

We enjoyed our stay. Ashley went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The rest of the staff was very friendly. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. I will stay again.

The service was great. The rooms were clean. I must say that the hotel needs a renovation. Everything needs to be updated. The beds need to be more softer. Once renovations are done, then the hotel would be much more relaxing.

Terrible!! Housekeeping never comes when you ask them too! Then they get mad when you call and complain for the 6th time!! We were there because of a house fire!! The only good thing was the other guests staying there!! If you come plan on cleaning your own rooms!!!!Rooms: If you want your room cleaned plan on them not coming!! And when they do done very badly!!

Two stars are for the people who work there- they are super nice and accommodating. Otherwise, the property is old, run down and maybe understaffed.
