Only good thing about this place is Starbucks the people are honestly AWESOME!! The self checkout clerk is beyond rude and will talk about other customers to customers, every time I've gone to this Kroger early in the morning it's been nothing but a bad experience with this one worker she has an attitude every time and begins to throw my groceries down after scanning, she clearly hates her job and I would highly recommend her to be trained again with how to give a customer a better experience possibly her just staying quiet would resolve ALOT!

I have lived within a 1/2 mile of the Kroger on 8 Mile in Livonia, MI for almost 30 years. I remember when they were open 24 hours! It's been my favorite grocery store to shop. That has drastically changed over the last several years, & more recently the last several months! While there are some wonderful, friendly & helpful people there (Brandon - the tall young man in produce is AWESOME!), sadly the majority of my recent experiences have been with some bitter & nasty employees who show nothing but disdain for us customers & treat you like you're an inconvenient bother. Recently while checking out, I was the only customer in the line & it was the only line open that I could see. The cashier said something along the lines of she wasn't feeling good, while she was turned & facing me. I said, "Oh no! You're not feeling well?". She then told me that she wasn't talking to me & that I needed to mind my own business! She said that that's why they don't like to say anything in front of us customers, because we jump into business that's not ours & are so nosy! I was totally shocked! I explained that I was not being nosy but concerned because she said she wasn't feeling well. She said again, that she wasn't talking to me & I needed to mind my own business. I asked who she was talking to because I was the only one in her line. She moved aside, & pointed 2 lanes behind her where a lady was standing alone, & informed me she was talking to her 'manager'. What's even sadder is that her 'manager' heard what she said to me & the attitude in which she said it, but did not say one word to her or me! Also, on quite a few occasions I have been overcharged for items. Most of the time I catch it, but sometimes I'm in a hurry & don't notice the overcharge until I get home. Michigan law states that if you are overcharged for an item ... You are entitled to receive the difference between the displayed price and what you were charged. You are ALSO eligible for a "bonus" of ten times the difference between the two. The bonus must be at least $1.00 but it may not be more than $5.00. " Recently I purchased some bakery items on the clearance shelf with a 50% off sticker, they rang up full price. Twice I caught the error before my order was totaled & the price was corrected. But twice I didn't notice until I had gotten home. The second time I went back for the price adjustment, they called a manager over (happened to be the same 'manager' who witnessed the previous cashier being rude & nasty, & said nothing). The manager tried to give me a hard time about getting the extra $5. When I didn't accept that explanation, she very rudely said 'Fine! I don't want to have to deal with it! Just do it!' & instructed the girl to make sure she wrote that I was refunded on the receipt. She insinuated that I was trying to scam them. The truth of the matter is that if they don't want to pay the $5, then they should quit overcharging! Just with myself I have been overcharged 4 times on bakery clearance items alone recently (twice I caught it, twice I went in to get the price adjustment). Instead of talking to the department & making sure they are putting the correct 50% off bar coding - they choose to get upset with the customer that keeps getting overcharged!! This same 'manager' has also felt the need to scold myself & several other customers who were in the self check-out & checking out at 9:55p (5 minutes before the store actually closed), for shopping so late & not shopping earlier! Very presumptuous of her because she doesn't know anyone's personal circumstances, nor should we need to explain to her, or get permission to shop when we are able to! Between these several instances & the general attitude of rudeness & being made to feel like I'm a bother, I will be choosing to spend my hard earned money

What's wrong with this place? There's about 4-5 people working at any given time and no one seems interested in their job, especially at the deli. Complete skeleton crew here... likely driven by ownership's desire for higher margins. Have a better chance of being struck by lightning twice than to get someone to slice deli meat. Guy just sits there putting on his gloves for 15 mins and has no sense of other's time. Forget it, go somewhere else.

I wonder what they do to their open bottle room that's outdoors when it starts to snow? Never mind they leave it open All winter long, I won't be bringing my bottles back here for the rest of the winter, Kroger must hate its customers to put an outside pop bottle area without being able to close it when it gets negative degrees. Not to mention I've been here over an hour today and told an employee that their bottle area was filthy, has about four or five carts of trash and nobody will come out to empty it or pick it up! The outdoor bottle room would be great if this was somewhere like I don't know, Florida or Texas, what Michigan is too darn cold for that!

8 mile Kroger was sadly disappointing. Probably due to the holiday season. They didn't have anything I was looking for.
