In short Block Advisors FAILED MISERABLY in their ability to prepare my small business taxes. I was bounced around to four different tax preparers at Block Advisors due to them either not having time to do my taxes or the individual not knowing how to prepare a small business return for a S-Corp. Yes, they can plug in the numbers you give them, but they have no capability to advise on strategy and how to minimize taxes - they are button pushers at their best. I interviewed just about every Block Advisor in the Detroit Metro area and almost none of them knew much about how an S-Corp return even works, but all offered to do it. I gave up while waiting 6 months for them to get around to amend my small business taxes (which they did incorrectly) so I ended up hiring someone else. I've now waited almost 2 more months for a refund and still no sign of it. So much for their maximum return guarantee and 100% satisfaction. I am 100% dissatisfied with their ability to advise and prepare taxes for a small business.

Booked appointment online.Tax advisor said that she does not do “sit downs” even when I was able to book it online.Advisor never got back to me even when we agreed to meet at a particular date.I am seeing 5 stars reviews for the same advisor, maybe something personal happened like a family emergency and this is why I got such a bad experience.Regardless, I feel that the advisor should have contacted me. I was relying on her to help me. That’s what I would do if I was on her situation.Will revise this review if I am able to solve this situation.

Tracey McIntyre-McMinn has been my tax advisor for the past two tax years. My previous advisor, Ann, was wonderful so I was sad she moved to another opportunity. Tracey has been great. Block has a convenient website that makes doing taxes easy and fast. I have nothing but good things to say about Block Advisors.
