Very arrogant and rude to my wife when she asked a simple question about the fudge. I’d never go there again.

Guy working the counter changed our minds about spending money there. If you're looking to be treated like a child instead of a paying customer, this is the place for you. Rude remarks offered, no extra charge. Nothing special, save your time.

If zero stars was possible, i would have given the store that. Should have known better as we walked in with the store owner having an altercation with another customer who frantically left. We were in there with small children picking out a souvenir when he began complaining how he doesn't want to own the store but can't sell because everyone "low balls" him. Ranted about his divorce and complained that he wishes kids didnt come into his shop - a shop with kids toys and candy. So we left without making any purchases. No sure how he can stay open if he's going to run all his customers out of the shop.

Based on the other reviews the owner sounds really toxic. I assume he's the one that cussed at my mom and brother from a window above the entrance when they were trying to get in the store to buy fudge. Apparently they were closed super early that day. Wouldn't recommend spending a dime here.

The recent horrendous reviews are not exaggerations. When I walked in and greeted the owner with "How are you," he responded that he'd be a lot better if he didn't have to chat with women. It caught me off guard and I thought he was joking at first, but he then spent my entire fudge purchase giving me his life story about how his divorce just became final, and launching into a rant about how much he hates having to deal with women. I honestly should've just chucked the box of fudge at his head, but, you know, fudge. To treat a customer with such rudeness and antagonism is inexcusable. This guy really needs to retire.

So we tried to visit Crazy Joe's antiques today, couldn't tell if they were open or closed, no signs saying either way, or hours posted. The gentleman (owner) came out, told us he's owner of that place and oh fudge shoppe. He said rudely that he's not open, my mother said "it's OK, no problem," he responds rudely with "no, it's not ok!" My dad glanced down at his watch to check the time, the guy proceeds to say "yeah i dont need to be reminded what time it is" Then says he's having trouble finding people, which we understand that. Then starts ranting about going through a divorce with his wife, giving us his life story. He was being super rude and I didn't appreciate how he spoke to my mother or father. I can understand why his wife is divorcing him and I can understand now why all these other people gave bad reviews about this place. And why he can't find employees. who would want to work for him? Props to whoever does.

Upon entering the store, I greeted the owner with "How are you?" and he said that he'd be fine if he didn't have to chat with women. I thought it was a strange response, and even joked "Hey, I'm a women," but he then spent the entire time ringing up my fudge purchase telling me that his divorce was just finalized and then going on a rant about how he hates having to deal with women. I'm trying to wrap my head around why or how he is in business. Just an angry little man.

If I could leave zero stars I would. The owner is very rude. He asked where my family was from, we said Lapeer and he said “oh that makes sense”, then he said “can I help anyone that’s actually going to buy something?”. Don’t waste your money at this guys shop, when there are actual good people who own businesses in Lexington. 0% recommend. Will not be returning.

My sisters and I went to this shop on Mother’s Day with my mom. We were the only ones in the store at the time so we were whispering amongst ourselves on what fudge we wanted because we didn’t want to be loud. The guy at the counter was upset we were whispering and stated how frustrating it was that we were whispering and how we weren’t in middle school anymore very rudely. Then as we were checking out another family came in with children probably about 4 and 7 and he said to my mom how “people think there is a playground in his store and it makes him want to close early” and the kids were not even doing anything wrong. So with that being said if you go to this store do not bring your kids with you and do not whisper. LOL. We will not be returning.

Went in, was never greeted. Went to the counter to make a purchase. My husband was standing next to me. He tapped the broken floor tiles a couple times. The owner proceeds to say, the only words he spoke to us. Yeah I hate this place. I’ve been trying to sell it for years. I know what’s wrong with the floor you don’t have to tell me. Confused as we had no idea really as to what he was talking about. He says to us, remind you as we are purchasing something, you know, you are very rude and disrespectful to tap on my floor. I know the floor needs to be fixed. We said nothing about the floor. He made the inference that my husband was telling him to “fix” his floor, but that definitely was not what he was doing. I’m shocked that as a store owner he would say anything of that nature to a paying patron. He did not say thank you or anything. Charged my credit card, and turned his back to us and walked away.Sorry to say, but we will never go there again. To say how awkward, and unprofessional the experience was is quite an understatement :(

The fudge here was kinda yum but the man who worked here was incredibly rude to my group. I walked in with a group of ladies and the man behind the counter made a point to mention how our "lady murmuring" was giving him a "male headache" and proceeded to talk about how he needed a beer. We weren't loud or disruptive in the slightest and we were intending on making purchases. He was rude unprompted. Like I said the fudge was fine, I didn't purchase it myself though because I'm not supporting a man who is blatantly sexist. If you need clothes or souvenirs I would suggest anywhere else, if you need fudge I guess this place is fine.

Went in and was looking around when I heard the owner tell a customer that he hates when kids touch everything in the store. You know like the kids clothes, candy, and toys he’s trying to sell. Started that he couldn’t wait to sell the place so he didn’t have to deal with the people anymore. We rounded up our kids and quickly got out. Bummer because other indicators told us he was a Christian man, but sure wasn’t willing to love others.

Horrible. They should not be in business any longer due to customer service. A woman with a young child asked where the closest restroom was. The guy at the register ignored her for a minute and eventually replied with down at the harbor. Never once did he look up. Upon her departure he began berating her stating she should have made her child use the bathroom before leaving the house and how tourist have no manners. This rant about children went on for approximately two minutes while I stood there with my four quiet children awaiting patiently to select a piece of fudge. Our turn came up and my son handed the individual my card. He didn’t respond to our greetings or questions on how his day is going. Nor did he respond to our thank-yous for the fudge. He printed off the receipt, my son went to hand me the receipt (due to him knowing I needed to sign) and the guy rips it out of my sons hand. Not saying a word. Doesn’t look up at me for any of the entire transaction. I’m disappointed. I’m sure no one will read this and it will not impact his business due to it being majority the tourist this guy despises so much. Cherry on the cake… the guy was blasting Christian music. Not the Christian I grew up being.

I love this place - have been going there for many years. I love the little rooms with themes- such as the pirate room. I purchase a couple of small pirate flags- I put them on my deck to see the wind direction- whimsical and fun to me.The fudge is made in house and is delicious. Lots of Michigan sweatshirts t-shirts. Assorted children's toys- candy and souvenirs. The owner and staff are all vacation friendly- just nice relaxed people and atmosphere.
