“Lewiston postal workers are helpful and informed. The hours make it difficult to pick up parcels from our PO Box, but that can't be helped.The postal system isn't failing because of any staffing problem, it's failing because Congress made them fully fund an entire pension plan within a year, which no other service is required to do. They are the only government service required to self-fund and be profitable. This has dried up all their operational funding, leading the postal workers to do twice the work for half the pay.I give extra kudos to the postal staff, since I've witnessed them calmly enduring completely unnecessary verbal assaults from rude, entitled customers. I certainly wouldn't be able to cut it at their job.”
