Terrible! Their sign said they leave for lunch at 2:15pm. What Post Office closes for lunch? Plus, I walked in before 2:15pm. They were rude and dismissive. What an embarrassment. I’ve never encountered such terrible customer service at any place in my life. I recommend never to come here. Then again, not coming here would make these employees happy.

Horrible customer service.Went to the post office to mail out a letter to a client of mine.Clerk # 09 refused to weigh my letter on the scale. I requested that it be weighed, and I needed it done this way for my client. She only offered selling me a stamp and was rude about it and not helpful at all. This was truly a horrible USPS experience with NO courtesy at all. She is not willing to help customers at all and is very confrontational.

First of all, I need to explain the 5 stars because there is no doubt that this location has had, and still has; the same condescending, hating-life, inconsiderate, person employed at the Lathrup Village Post Office. Why the 5 stars then? Due to the new bright light named Jasmyne. She's professional, kind, quick and patient. She doesn't raise her voice, she doesn't treat customers like they aren't worth her time. She's a pleasant woman who does her job well. Say "Hi" to Jasmyne with a smile. She deserves your best you!

While I was standing in line a few weeks ago, there was an older gentleman at the beginning of the line. A space opened up and he slowly approached the desk. The employee that greeted him (I believe Jenelle) said in a tone, you are supposed to wait until we call on you, that's why we have the signs up. The man apologized and asked if he should go back and in sounding like she was doing him a favor she said no, you are already here anyway. It just seemed like such a rude and unnecessary way to talk to a person. I looked around as well and there is no sign that says to wait until called on in that store. I usually had poor experiences here and it seems that almost every clerk has an attitude or is just very crude when snapping orders at people. It's unfortunate since I live so close but I would much rather drive an extra 10 minutes to a post office than to be treated the way I usually get treated / witness people get treated here. They may just be over worked but if that's the case I would still hope to be treated better than I do when I go there.

2:27pm on Friday, 12/30 the USPS employee named "Jennelle" treated me like cattle. After she was done with a young man in front of me, I started to approach the area. Jennelle abruptly and sternly stated "I didn't call you, GO BACK!" I couldn't believe how rude I was spoken to. I turned around and went back to the line where other guests were shaking their heads and raising their eyebrows at Jennelle's comment to me. No manners and ruined my day. An alternative line she needs to learn and go over some training with her manager is "Sorry, but would you mind going back to the line for a moment? I will call you in just a moment after I finish pulling this piece of tape off. Sorry for the inconvenience."

This is one of the better post offices. It's fairly quiet, and the lines move quick.

New resident here- On Thursday I attempted to drop off prepaid packages. It took 10 minutes to make a left hand turn into the post office. When I approached the door someone was leaving so I entered the building when I went to enter the area to ship the packages I had the post offices door slammed in my face and locked. I looked at my watch and realized it was 5:01pm. My boxes are prepaid USPS boxes. Having an area large enough for boxes that are prepaid to be shipped would be beneficial. A couple of days later I arranged for a pick up at my house instead of dropping them off. It has been 3 days and none of my packages are tracking. I tried calling the post office to see what else I could do and I was hung up on mid sentence. I don’t know how else to proceed. I have a business where I ship things through USPS daily and I would like to utilize the closest branch but I feel like this location does not want to be bothered.

I cannot tell you how many times I've been to this post office and have been told "the computers down." Three years ago I vowed to never return to Lathrup Village's Post Office of Unabashed Incompetence™ but today I was in a pinch. Lo and behold, the computers are down! Imagine my shock as I returned to my truck, kicking myself for thinking that perhaps maybe today they might be able to function as, oh... I don't know... A POST OFFICE.Anyways, for all of you out there, who keep voting for more and more government. Just remember, the USPS is a government agency and you're voting for more of THIS. These people will get paid to sit in an empty Post Office waiting for another gov't employee to swing by and restart their computer or why not just go home early (which theyve done on numerous occasions) and guess what? YOU'RE PAYING FOR IT whether you like it or not. And then these people will have the gall to say: "hey, we need more money! pay more taxes and we'll make sure the USPS has working computers, we super duper double promise!"You think the people at FedEx, UPS, or DHL are just going to shut their doors and say "ooops, sorry. computers down! try again tomorrow! BYE!"The govt are the only people who get MORE money when they do a WORSE job.

Went there at 3PM and it was closed. I am assuming this is a dead location that only has PO Boxes. Do not waste your time.

I had an awful experience at the Lathrup Post Office on Friday, April 22, 2022. A postal clerk who identified herself as Ebony was rude, argumentative, confrontational and insulting towards me. Subsequent to me asking her how much it would cost to track my mail, she said to me "you don't know what you want. and told me Bye Girl." She refused to honor my request to speak to a supervisor by responding after I waited for a few minutes for her to call a supervisor, "I'm the only one here." She told me her supervisor; Bonita at the post office on 11 Mile. I drove the extra miles, however, there was a line with approximately 15 people. I had an appointment and was unable to wait in the line to file my complaint with her alleged supervisor. I then called and left a message with a machine on USPS complaint line. I hope someone will pay attention to my complaint. This young woman should not be working in customer service.

What rude, illegal customer service. The clerk yelled "Mask!" at me and refused to let me come near the desk without one, even thought there are NO city of Southfield, Oakland county, Michigan state or federal mask mandates in effect right now. I even spoke to the post master in Lansing, Michigan, who confirmed that customers are no required to wear masks in the post office and her behavior was illegal. I will be following up to make sure the "Masks Required" sign is removed from the entrance door, and that this employee is reprimanded for her behavior. She yelled at, talked down to, and reprimanded every other customer who walked in without a mask, as well. Disgusting, bullying behavior. Our tax money hard at work.

If I could give zero stars I would. Today I was refused service because I didn't have a mask. Not only was I refused service, I was yelled at and called a name I won't repeat. This lady was very unprofessional with a horrible attitude. There was nobody inside the office and she was behind glass. How is me not having a mask an issue? I thought the option was mine to wear a mask. I wasn't yelling at her for having a mask on. What is wrong with people today. Don't worry, I will never return to this location.
