I've used Rathbun for several years. Karen, who is unfortunately not working there anymore, was absolutely stellar in setting up my then husband and I with a policy after we had a nightmare experience with another company. I stayed at Rathbun paying a little more for what was undoubtedly better insurance for years out of loyalty to her and the customer service I was provided. When I cancelled my auto policy I wasn't asked why I wanted to leave or if there was anything they could do to help me stay with them and that was a little odd. I still have home policy with them and would continue to recommend people to the agency, I'll just miss my Karen and her outstanding service to me and all the help she gave during some rough times.

I looked into switching homeowners policy, asked for the declaration page; was given the previous year’s policy to hide a $500 increase. Receiving a refund of the previous years premium months in; my account manager had no idea, believing that it was the previous rate.

Absolutely abysmal service.My wife has called multiple times over the course of the past several years trying to get Rathbun to change her account information (name on her policy), which is always met with "you'll get a call back" or "we'll take care of it."It has never been taken care of, they never call back, which leads to more phone calls, leaving messages with "receptionists."We've gone through a mortgage process recently, and they have even been refusing to provide information to the bank. Our loan officer has said that he has tried to contact them multiple times over the course of the past 4 months, and they just tell them that we've "switched insurance carriers." Which absolutely is not the case.Terrible service, you will never receive any calls back, and they will always take the easiest way out of any situation that you present them.I would not recommend Rathbun to anyone that I know.

I've been a Rathbun customer for about 9 years and have never received anything but spectacular service. Not only do they consistently answer any questions you may have, they proactively monitor your policies and call you with suggestions or to notify you of changes.

Rathbun is a sponsor of Firecracker Foundation whose founder is homophobic and believes in gay conversion therapy and has recently been harassing a young lesbian online. When I asked them if they knew about this and provided proof they blocked me from messenger so I can only assume they support it too.
