Beware of PETCO grooming Frandor Shopping Plaza MI. Unethical business, Lying, stealing.... I have given them to many chances. I have a beautiful English Labrador (Apollo). This was not my first problem here but my last. Yesterday, I took Apollo in to get his teeth brushed. I was advised to look after his dental health a little more. Apollo likes to kiss and gets excited when you brush his teeth making it difficult for me at home. I decided to start taking him regularly just for a brushing. First, the young girl, approx 5'4", Dark medium length hair, pale skin with stainless steel piercings in her nose and I think between her eyes or somewhere (two of them) is who helped. I called and scheduled with her (nice and sweet) arrived on time to drop Apollo off. I was then told I could not leave him there and had to stay in the store. I just needed to go grab something (in the same shopping plaza) and would be right back in 25 to 30 Minutes at most. Nope, so I walked out upset why I couldn't just be right back. So I left and came back, When she took Apollo in for a brushing I decided to watch through the window behind her to see how they do it. She put on a blue rubber finger brush with nubs on it. No toothpaste and tried to get Apollo to let her brush his right side. She got maybe one stroke forward and back before jumping to the left and just barely touching his teeth with the tip of the rubber thingy, then immediately grabbed a bottle of breath spray and without even looking, quickly, pushed up his gum on his right side and squirted his face, it didn't even get in his mouth. That portion took place in hardly one minute. She then faked a quick nail grinding and had him back to the counter in under 5 minutes. I should have made a scene but I didn't. I asked her why she didn't brush his teeth but she denied it and lied and said she did. I was so mad. I asked her then what the blue finger brush was and she said we have different brushed on the shelf and she would show me. We went to the isle and I pointed at a regular dog brush (on purpose) and said what about this and she replied with, thats what we normally use but we dont have any teeth brushed back there today. Thats when I said exactly so how did you brush his teeth, I stood in the glass the whole time. She was embarrassed and walked away still denying it. I went to pay at the counter and asked the girl,( name started with an L, Hair in a bun, Tall probably 6'1', young) if she thought this was ok and if I could speak to someone but she told me that's not PETCOs problem and they are not affiliated. BUT SHE TOOK A NEW BRUSH FROM THE ISLE, WALKED ME SHOPPING, I CALLED PETCO TO SCHEDULE, AND BOOM I FREAKING PAID AT THE REGISTER AND PETCO TOOK MY MONEY FOR THE GROOMING. Yes, I paid because I didnt want to cause a big scene. It's not the money, its the fact that I take my pride and joy, love of my life, 17K pure white service trained Labrador to get his teeth groomed because they tell me I'm not doing it enough. THIS IS WHY HE HAS DENTAL HYGIENE ISSUES. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET PLEASE TAKE HIM ANYWHERE BUT THIS PETCO. FIGHT TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF. JUST BECAUSE ANIMALS CANT TALK DOES MEAN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM. THIS IS CAUSING YOUR PET MORE HARM THAN GOOD AND SHORTENING THEIR LIFE SPAN AND COSTING PET OWNERS TIME, MONEY, AND QUALITY OF LIFE. IF THIS WERE HUMAN IT WOULD BE CRIMINAL. THIS IS CRIMINAL AND THEY SHOULD BE3 SHUT DOWN. SHE SHOULD GET FIRED OR PETCO IS RESPONSIBLE. ALONG WITH HER FRIEND AT THE COUNTER. TELL ME FROM THIS PHOTO WHO IS OFFERING GROOMING. WTF...

I got the pleasure to work with Justin in frandor store. He was upbeat very helpful and a great attitude. I want to just let his boss know how amazing he was to me and that he makes me want to keep coming back. Put a smile on my face today! Thank you Justin!

The general manager (Jonnie/Jonny?) of this location is truly remarkable! From dog and cat needs, to saltwater fish and now reptile care, it is clear the manager cares about my animals as if they were his own. There is never any upselling or anything, but rather always helping ensure I get everything I really need at the right price. They price match when there are obvious discrepancies, and always take the time to answer any questions I throw at them. Definitely recommend this location!

They cancelled on me at the last second, because their groomer was "sick" (and, they weren't professional enough to have a backup.) I rescheduled with them. I showed up today to drop the dog off. She's older. The vet's told us we need to be careful of her back when lifting her. They REFUSED TO WORK ON HER because of that. Basically, these clowns cancelled on me NOT ONCE but TWICE at the LAST POSSIBLE SECOND. Extremely unprofessional and hard to work with. Will not use again.

Honestly I would never go here to buy your animals anything. They are never stocked and the customer service is awful they’re passive aggressive and combative. I called to make sure I could return something letting them know I didn’t have the receipt they said it was fine on the phone I go all the way to store and now I can’t do it. When she’s calls the manager to the register he acts like he couldn’t care less. Will not be going here again.

I tried to order something for my dog. They asked questions that I answered but when asked for my dog's weight, they didn't accept my answer. I don't know how they want it to be entered???

Started coming to this location after I adopted a cat in April, as it has a very convenient location if you’re a student at MSU.At first, it was great. They always had what I needed in stock, and very helpful employees.Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case as of the last month or so. Whenever I visit to purchase litter or food, they have very limited stock. My cat’s very picky and will only eat Canidae, and now they no longer have any Canidae food (wet or dry) in stock.When I asked an employee if they have any, their explanation was that they thought they had plenty to restock the shelves when they checked, however, it had all expired so they had to throw it out.So now not only do I have to worry about whether or not it’s in stock, but also if it’s expired when it is in stock.Hoping things change soon, I’d rather not have to switch to Amazon.
