My absolute favorite yoga studio, and one of my favorite places in general. The setting is open and inviting and I love that there are always mats, blocks, and straps to spare in case you forgot yours or don't have one. This studio is the definition of inclusive, from donation based classes to a variety of different kinds of classes for all kinds of folks including trauma informed yoga. It is a safe space for yogis of all flavor, and B is incredible in sharing not only the physical, but the spiritual and mental aspects of yoga practice during class. I always feel lighter, more joyful, and more present after classes. Thanks B!!

I attended Yoga Basics for the first time this weekend. I was nervous and unsure of what to expect beforehand because I had never done yoga before. I also have pretty bad anxiety, but I immediately felt at ease once I stepped inside: B and her space are warm and welcoming. I felt refreshed, strong, and thankful afterward and will definitely come back again.

My first visit was wonderful. My cousin and I came to a beginner class and, due to some health issues, have some physical limitations. The instructor actually modified to class slightly to make sure everyone was comfortable and able to enjoy. We will be back on a regular basis!

For being called "Just B" yoga, me and my friend hard a time just being ourselves here, which was really dissapointing.. we had to park on a side street and as soon as we got out of our we got harrassed by some guy on his porch (totally unrelated to the studio but still was a very unpleasant way to start of my day. we arrived ten minutes early because it said to onine but the instructor made it very clear that we were interrupting.. the instructor/owner seemed very hostile and when i mentioned i love balancing my chakras with crystals she made me seem stupid and acted like she had never heard of such a thing.. she seemed to be very nice and pleasant to other people there but me and my friend.. after the class was over i noticed there was a wall of names that if you donated you were put on. I went up to her and said i really enjoyed the class and i'd love to donate and she just stuck her hand out for the money.. no thank you.. no please come back..

It's January: that time of year when folks think about goals and resolutions. Doing so reminded me of this great place -- the ONLY donation-based studio in Michigan, last I heard. Not only will you find attentive instructors here, you'll also find an emphasis on sangha (community) -- ALL of it, from LGBTQ and allies yoga classes, trauma-informed yoginis, and even classes designed to include folks with more curves and those over 40. If you haven't checked them out, maybe this time of year will get you through the door, too?

Was here 3 years ago on LGBTQ night and it was nice. But went there tonight and was treated very rudely by the two women opening the shop. It was cold outside we arrived 20 minutes early I very nicely asked if we were free to come inside Sine they had unlocked the door. And that we got there a little early but I remembered having a problem finding good parking close before when I arrived close to the start time of 7:30pm. They gruffly said the class doesn't start until 7:30. It was very cold and un welcoming the way my friend and I were treated. If they have an issue with people arriving 20minutes early then they should state it clearly on the website. It really felt Like they didn't want new yoga members and couldn't be bothered to treat their fellow humans with simple kindness.

This seems like an excellent place to practice for average health based individuals. However, it does not feel like an appropriate place

Belinda and her fellow teachers are fantastic! I have taken several classes at her studio. She also came to my work and taught a private lesson to me and my fellow employees for a team bonding activity. She did a wonderful job! And came to us and brought mats and everything! She did a great job at tailoring the class to help everyone. Thanks Belinda!

In town for one day and had the fortune of staying near this studio. What a gift, thanks universe! B immediately welcomed my boyfriend and I into the space, answering questions and showing us around. Then led us through a magical practice filled with breathe, space, and laughter! I can't remember the last time I was encouraged to laugh during a practice and it was so great. I loved the childlike curiosity B encouraged and the invitation to pause and delight in the space we were in. Practicing here was the definite highlight of our trip - and I even had a Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake at a diner B recommended. Love the community focus here and will make every effort to come back whenever I'm in Lansing.
