I made an appointment to have my city taxes completed. The person who was supposed to do them was leaving for the summer, but assured me that her manager would take over and handle them. I called back a week later and was told that the manager was handling a lot of requests but would call when she completed my taxes. It’s June 28th and I still haven’t heard back. I handled my city taxes on the due date because I had a feeling she wouldn’t call or even answer the phone. However, I gave them my documents and have no clue what they’ve done with them. No one has answered the phone and when I call the Holmes location, no one can give an answer.
I have had great experiences with Mimi in the past, so I do not blame her for this. However, if she or her manager were too swamped to handle more returns, they never should’ve agreed to handle mine and take my documents when they had no intentions of actually working on them. Will never go back here again. And personally I think someone should be fired.

Much like other people who have left reviews here, I had the most terrible experience with Cheryl Hulbert. I went in there in April to get my taxes done. Being a “non resident international” student, I told Cheryl of my situation and asked whether she’d be able to handle the non typical filing. She said she could take a look. At the end of her filing my taxes, I realized that she had filed all four of my various tax documents (Federal, Michigan, North Carolina, and City of East Lansing taxes) incorrectly and had put me as a “resident” when I had clearly told her that my taxes were to be done as “non resident”. I called her later letting her know of the situation and asking for a refund so that I could hire an “actual professional” to help me out. But she was very rude, kept lying, spoke over me, said she would get back to me with the refund and had been unreachable since. She insisted (lied) that I had forced her to do my taxes even though she said she wasn’t trained to file non-resident taxes. I’m a Michigan State Engineer who graduated with honors. Would I not have the simple sense to go elsewhere when a service provider is saying that they don’t know how to handle my specific tax situation. Anyways, I had to redo all my taxes and file corrected tax returns which are even harder to file. I am very surprised that she is still being allowed to make people’s lives harder despite multiple people having complained of her. I bet she’s using her lying nature to get out of these complaints but she needs to be fired asap.
Additionally, even if the resident / non-resident filing situation is ignored for a second, the city of East Lansing taxes she filed had me paying city taxes to East Lansing for money that I made in Raleigh, North Carolina while living in NC during summer. Now how can a professional make such a silly mistake. This is simply laughable. I haven’t had such a stressful experience in a very long time. Please stay away from this location until HR Block takes real action.

I called to get help sometime the other locations answer the phone to help out and this lady was so rude she had to help me I asked her name and she hung up I was respectful all I said if your saying you can’t help me because I had got mines done at a different location and she get mad you can’t report just be careful

Very unprofessional at the Frandor location. The manager is awful. They misquoted us and then said they would take it higher up the chain and never called us back. Had to complain to corporate before anything happened.Also when I called and asked for the managers name, I was given first and last and then heard her telling the receptionist not to give out her last name and the receptionist stated that it’s on her business card anyway. Very unprofessional. Will not be using this branch again.

I will never again use H&R Block.paid 400+ dollars for our taxes to be done. I was told our amended return would be at no cost as it was advised we file them then do the amendment. It’s now been 5+ months and no only can we not get any one (including our person that did our taxes) to even communicate back with us. Not even the manager will reply back. Our amendment is still not filed. Even though they said it was done in the first place. We are now expected to pay $99 for it to be filed. Some of us really depend on that money for our family. Thanks H&R Block.

Worst service I’ve ever gotten from Cheryl! She said I couldn’t get my taxes sent to me and she wouldn’t give me her mangers name. I don’t often leave reviews but she shouldn’t be doing anyone’s taxes.

The HR Block in Holt MI forgot to file my taxes (literally the easiest part of the process). Cheryl Hulbert "helped" me with the refund process. Except she pretended to have submitted all the information to corporate. After 5 months of dodging my calls and pretending that the emails were lost, I involved HR BLOCK corporate who said did not receive anything from Cheryl Hulbert. I have to imagine it's rare for them to forget to file someone's taxes, but avoid working with Cheryl Hulbert at all costs.

Changed to this office for a better option. It got very good reviews. I'm very happy with them and will use them next year! Highly recommend.

Horrible at communication. I went a month ago, they started filling my taxes but said they needed to consult with another employee that was not present at the moment. I sent some extra documents the next day. After a week of them not coming back I sent emails and started calling. The employee that had my case was ALWAYS busy or not present, and A MONTH later she tells me to come pick up my documents because she cannot complete it for me. Now I have to rush to see if I can find someone else. Terrible experience.

Sandra was not professional and did not reach back out on her own after faling to pursue services she guaranteed. She was also rude to me as a customer and hung up on me without a reason. She also did not explain on how to retrieve my tax documents that she was still in possession of. Would not recommend.
