Bottom line: This Discount Tire location was absolutely great and I would highly recommend Discount Tire, generally.
I was due for a tire rotation, and since I get free tire rotations, I made an appointment at this location of Discount Tire. I worked in Lansing today, so made the appointment there, as I usually would not. My appointment was for 5:15, which is 45 minutes before their closing time. I didn’t think anyone would be there, but the room was almost full when I got there. I let the person who helped me know I can reschedule my appointment if they were backed up, but he assured me the appointments would take priority, and it would no longer than the normal hour.
It was certainly true, and I got my back within the hour of my appointment time. Actually less than an hour. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Even though they were swamped, every person I came in contact with, or even overheard, had a very positive attitude. It might be irritating to some, but I noticed the staff took their time with each person they were helping to make sure the customer got and understood everything that was happening. When it comes to tires and the anxiety that comes with overall car maintenance, I thought that was great, as it seemed to ease the stress of the customers.
I would highly recommend this location and will definitely continue to give Discount Tire my business.

Just got new tires all 4 had a bad tier sensor so instead of saying anything to me they just left it bad I thought it was just low air absolutely ridiculous they didn't say anything now I have to make another appointment and wait forever to get my wife's car fixed. Definitely taking my business somewhere else from now on

Came into the market place blvd location 4/8/23 for 2 new tires for a 2015 dodge durango, paid over $550 for 2 brand new “winter tires” because they told me that’s what was on my car only to find out now that only A YEAR later that the 2 tires that were replaced tread’s are below the red line, under 20% tread and all the tires on my car are already all season. Was lied to by this location to pay more money for only 2 tires that did not even last a year. Currently at Tasmanian tires in Holt paying HALF that price for ALL 4 tires. Would recommend trying this place over ever going to discount tire in Lansing.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had with any company I’ve don’t business with. ROBERT spent too much time trying to upsell a tire that did not need to be replaced. I would really focus on retraining this gentleman because his customer service skills are absolutely awful in his upsell skills are even worse. To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement. Beyond disgusted with his location yet again.

Stopped by for air in my tires as they offer the service, however several employees looked at me and failed to acknowledge me there waiting. After nearly 15 minutes I left. The location on Pennsylvania in Lansing handles customer service far better.

Came in to this location as a walk in and was setting up an install for wheels and tires with Josh (I think that was his name) and after talking with him he called around and was able to pull off a miracle for me, got me installed and out the door(Another location did the install) before noon.
Great experience. Really knowledgeable and friendly. Miracle workers.

Let me begin with 2 items.
1. I have easily spent over $10,000 with Discount Tire over many years. This trend will likely not continue.
2. The staff at the store in question, particularly Sean and Garrett, are all respectful, patient, and professional. I nearly handed a card to Sean to offer him a job.
Those items out of the way. I avoided writing a poor review of this location from my last experience in late fall of 2023 hoping it was a one off experience. Today confirmed it was not. The previous visit, I had ordered winter tires and scheduled a 10am appointment for the install on the OE rims. I mentioned that I had an appointment upon arrival. After many back and forths with staff, my car wasn't taken into have the tires put on until well after noon, at which point staff looked to be in a panic and had all hands on deck to make it happen, which was nice to see, but should never have been needed. Management clearly knew it wasn't good and did what they could to kiss up.
Today, I had a 1215 appointment to swap back to the OE all seasons from the winter tires. I arrived at 1207 and I made clear to staff that I needed to keep things timely and was assured it would be. At 1245 my car still had not been taken back. I talked with Sean again, noting my need to be on time. My car was taken back at 1255, 40 minutes from when the actual appointment was. I didn't get keys back in hand until 128pm.
My question is for management and Discount Tire corp, why have appointments if you don't have the systems or staff to support keeping them? Prices are nice, but it's worth 5-10% more to go to a shop that will treat my time as important as my $.

Update 4/9/24: Spoke with Manager Steve last night. Was impressed with his response and the care he communicated was clearly sincere to me. Will update again upon any further changes.

Garrett, Travis and the mechanics behind the scenes were just wonderful!!! I was there in February when I had a flat tire. They helped me in such an unbelievable fashion. March 22nd I returned to have the other (2) tires replaced as the tread was not good on these. Their customer service is just awesome. Due to this, Discount Tire has my business for my lifetime.
