Very deceiving when applying for a credit card, was not told until it was to late that this company's credit card agreement is thru a 3rd party...where we already have a card thru... so a hard inquiry could have been avoided... In addition, every time Ive been in this location, I've gotten this inclination that they only like salt, not pepper..iykyk

Great hours of operation for anyone who needs to get out and buy something g in bulk kind of last minute since the other bulk stores open late and close early. There are plenty of different things they sell. There popcorn and cookies are really good. Once I got bacon and it was already upon its enervation date and they were good about letting me return it. Stuff happens nothing is perfect. I still stop in and shoe for certain items they offer that the other guys don’t.

Very poor inventory control, especially in the cooler, frozen, and meat sections.Be absolutely certain that you check expiration dates on all consumable items. It seems to me that most items are very near these dates. It’s almost like BJ’s purchases old food at a discount, perhaps? I won’t purchase the BJ’s brand of food, as I find the quality/taste to be below grade.Trying to exit the store is far too inconvenient. Checking every item in my cart against the receipt (even if I check out via cashier) is complete nonsense. I have been known to leave my full cart in the exit line, rather than be subjected to this lengthy “pat down”, and simply gone across town to shop at a real wholesale club.Sorry BJ’s, oh, and thanks for the putrid baby back ribs I went to smoke on memorial day!

I absolutely love BJs Wholesale Club- the prices are fantastic- the customer service is with a smile- what more can you ask for? Oh wait- great gas prices- and they have them!

Wow, I don't usually do reviews but the ones here are so bad. I have had a great experience with this store and the savings both with merchandise and gas. I appreciate having this on the west side of town, I also have Costco and Sams and go to whatever one I'm close to. They all have something that I like. This one has Stok cold brew coffee that I buy regularly along with eggs, almond milk, frozen fruits and vegetables. I have gotten more than my membership price back, I am on my second year of membership.

I like that gas is usually around 20 cents cheaper than down the road. But people pull in and block ALL the pumps to make sure THEY get the next one available. Ends up being a traffic jam and you’re stuck waiting.Today, they had samples but all the sample people seemed done with life and not very nice. One guy was “handing out” gummy bears (lol) but was hunched over staring at his phone, not acknowledging anyone around him. So we just took some and walked away. If you don’t like your job, find something that better suits you.Their little snack shop is almost always closed now. They intentionally understaff this store but it does a disservice to the customers. There was a sign saying to grab an employee if you wanted a cookie or drink but the only employee around was checking out a long line of people. Their popcorn machine has been “broken” for weeks as well.Food isn’t too bad. There’s isn’t much of a selection in the bakery compared to Meijer. We bought chicken here but it tasted like it was glued together. You couldn’t even pull it apart fully cooked. It just seems like this store could be something amazing and those in charge couldn’t care less.

Not loving it so far. We signed up for the gas savings, but it hasn't been any cheaper than Shell down the street and the pumps are SO SLOW! I am talking like over 15 minutes to put gas in our truck. They are brand new, but the slowest pumps in existence. The entrance and set up for the pumps is horrible. If someone blocks one of the front pumps, you get stuck there waiting in line while people just pulling in go through the "one way" or "exit" the opposite direction and drive right into the pumps. No employees to do anything about it or help the flow of traffic. The prices are not any cheaper than my normal grocery store. The only way it's a good value is if there is a coupon for that product, and then you have to literary rip a coupon out of a huge book in the store. The app doesn't work for me. I signed up and signed in just fine, but now when I open the app it keeps making me reset my password, which doesn't work, and the link to reset my password doesn't get sent to my email. The products that have coupons are hard to find. They aren't marked in the store like they are at Costco. Often, I have to ask for help to find items or the items on promotion are already sold out.

I called the store yesterday to schedule an eye exam and they told me it was all done through online so I went online and made an appointment for 10am today. I got there at few minutes before my appointment time and when 10 arrived the optical people still weren’t there the lady finally showed up fifteen minutes late holding coffee in her hand from biggby and than began to explain to me that she couldn’t see me today for my eye appointment because I made it online and the person who does online appointments was out today and the lady that was there today only does walk in appointments. Told me I would have to come back next week but that nothing was guaranteed. Absolutely wrong and just lazy when my membership is up next month I’ll be leaving BJ’s and going to Costco. This isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had with bjs but it will be the last.

I kept my membership only for the gas prices. However, every time I try to get gas here the pumps will not work. They shut off after only pumping pennies worth of gas. The person that works the service station is always rude and won’t help you out. The blinds on the service station are always pulled down so you can’t see that anyone is even in there. Definitely done with my membership.

I used the scan and go app when shopping. What a waste of time. When you stop at the exit, they have to scan every item in your cart. Terrible waste of time. If you don't use the scan and go app, then when you get to the exit, they glance at your cart, possibly sount the items and yoiu arae quickly on your way. Yesterday I bought two things and didn't use the app Unfortunately when I got to the exit the person in front of me had a basket full of stuff. It took for ever for the person to be able to move items around and scan everything. So annoying. BTW, I also have a new membership and Sams. They have a scan and go app that is wonderful. After scanning your items, you walk through a special exit at the end of the cashiers and then at the Exit, they merely scan the QR code on your app and you are out the door. WAYYYYYY easier and quicker. I will likely not renew BJs and keep Sams.

1. Some of the most outrageously rude actions and comments by employees and management. 2. Prices are identical and sometimes higher ounce to ounce etc as in MeIjer. 3. Back to #1 above-obviously due to lack of training - it's a free for all. 4. After the most recent employee behavior-my membership is lapsing...never darken their door again...but then for how dead that place is-it may be moot within the year anyway. Pretty difficult to keep a monster sized place open when no one is darkening the doors...I wonder why? NOT

I would give zero stars if I could. Found a Cuisinart set of pans at Canton BJ’s that I wanted. It was 15 piece set, a BJ’s exclusive. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any and it was discontinued. However, the Lansing club had 5. Great! I called the Lansing club and spoke with Daniel. I told him what I was looking for and he told me they had 1 on display and 4 in the rafters. I asked if I could pay for them over the phone and have them shipped to me. He didn’t’ know if that could be done, but said I could buy them on line and have them shipped. Again, great! He gave me the item number, and it came back no such item. He couldn’t get a manager because they were having a “hiring event” and they couldn’t be bothered. So, what do I do? I use my only day off to drive 1 and a half hours to Lansing to make my purchase. I go to the counter to ask for help on the floor (I need someone to get something out of the rafters) to which she says oh, I don’t think we can do that during the day, let me call a manager. The manager comes over, and again I explain to her what I’m there for. About 10 minutes later she comes back to tell me that apparently I was given false information. I saw the set on display. The computer says they have 5, but she can’t find them. I was quite upset. Why do you still have the product on display if it’s discontinued and you don’t have any in stock? Unbelievable - the only good thing I can say about that club was that Daniel was very helpful on the phone. Too bad he wasn’t working on Monday when I went in.Zero customer service there!

I was an employee until recently when I walked out. This place is absolutely horrible, toxic and overly priced. They are CONSTANTLY short staffed and due to that they overwork their employees. The store manager Mike is the reason for the short staffing, trying to stay under budget with staffing for his own incentives. They claim to have an “open door policy” but you are always pushed away by the store manager when we come to him with anything. He gives eye rolls, shoulder shrugs and smirks when you try explaining anything to him (if he does give you a minute of his time). He was a favorite of mine until the day I walked out when he mocked my very WELL documented and LONG history of chronic illness (which I had FMLA for upon leaving). He’s very UNPROFESSIONAL and too IMMATURE to be running a store, and lacks a great deal of compassion for human beings. A great company is ran by happy employees…he has absolutely no sense on how to do that, just worried about making himself look good to those above him.My stress level has greatly decreased since leaving. God speed to anyone that applies for a job here lol✌?

I purchased a membership in Feb 2022 after receiving a flyer that advertised a $40 store credit after paying the $55 membership fee. I had to call customer care several times to get the credit because it did not come as described by the salesperson in the store. My family shopped here several times and were generally satisfied with the store and products, but we didn't use the membership. BJ's sends multiple emails to me weekly advertising their products, but I am concerned as to why they did not send me an email about my auto renewal as a reminder. I realize that ultimately, it's my responsibility to keep track of, but it would be a nice customer service move to receive a notice ahead of time. Now I have been chasing down a refund for over a month, and have called their customer care at least 4 times because the information about my refund that they've provided has been false every single time. I am currently on hold because a customer service rep hung up on me when I was attempting to get answers once again. My advice--DO NOT GIVE ONE RED CENT TO THIS COMPANY! I would give a minus 5 star rating if I were able!

Okay I was thinking about not renewing my membership. But I’m so glad I didn’t go though with not renewing! So far this year I have saved several hundred dollars on everyday items. I saved 300 dollars alone on tires (Goodyear) when compared to Belle Tire and Discount Tire. So much money has been saved on everyday items ranging from toilet paper to laundry soap. You really just have to look around and think outside of the box. Even water is so much cheaper! Yes I love this place better than Sams! I even bought my eye glasses here recently! No I’m not an employee or paid by this place but just thankful that they have saved my family so much money in this inflationary economy. God bless!
