Where to begin? Don't come here unless you want to get scammed. They lie, avoid accountability, and are condescending when they speak to you.I helped my family book a vehicle here for a few days. I used the app to do it and had one quote. I went to pick up the vehicle, which they didn't have, so they had to "upgrade it." They didn't mention not having what I paid for, they simply asked "I only have a small SUV, is that okay?" I said that was fine because they never addressed that there was an upcharge or anything for the vehicle. They said they had to add my name to the reservation, because I paid for it, without mentioning that this was also an extra charge per day. To preface, I have rented with Avis in Burbank, Ca. and Detroit, MI. Both times I was able to pay with my Debit card, Avis can fact check that if they want to. To continue, I ended up paying for the vehicle with my credit card because they refused to run my debit card as a credit card (they "understand that I can rent my car anywhere with a debit card, but their system at LAN specifically could only run credit cards") because they didn't allow my brother to pay over the phone with his credit card (which I I understand). I signed the screen WHICH DID NOT HAVE THE PRICE ON IT, it was JUST ASKING FOR MY SIGNATURE. We got the vehicle, and we left. We dropped the vehicle off today and received an email stating a different quote for over $100 more. I called and got the most left field answers to my questions. "It's not like we charged you a crazy price" and "you saw the price on the screen when you signed it." How that sounds professional is beyond me. They need to retrain their staff because they lack humanity and humility all-together. They are thieves at Avis who look to nickel and dime you any way that they can without you noticing until it is too late. Do not rent from them unless you feel like spending more than you actually have to.

We booked a vehicle on the Avis app, for 3 days, to pick up at the Airport in Lansing, Michigan. Our quote on the app was for $138.97. We did not need a special vehicle, just something to drive until my car was fixed. After dropping the vehicle off I received an email stating my total was 243.74. We called them to figure out what the issue was and they stated that they didn’t have a vehicle I booked so they had to upgrade it. That was not my fault, so I shouldn’t be charged for their negligence especially when they didn’t discuss it with me. On top of that, they added an additional driver (my sister in law) who paid for it because they wouldn’t allow my husband to pay with his credit card over the phone. They did not communicate with us at all when we picked up the vehicle, all they did was give us the keys and paper. “You saw the screen when you signed” and “it’s not like we charged you a crazy rate” was their response, that is not customer service at all. They were rude, defensive, and not apologetic at all when speaking to us on the phone. They looked to steal any way that they could most likely because it was too cheap for them to give us a vehicle at the rate we got it.

My flight plans had changed and I was in danger of losing my reservation. Amani was very helpful and updated my reservation so I could pick up my car after hours. Above and beyond the call of duty!

Highly recommended! Alaa was amazing. I was arriving after hours. Alaa assigned me a car anyway and arranged so I could find it. Then he gave me his cell number in case anything came up. Finally, when the car assigned didn't work for me he assigned me a different one. Talk about customer service! Wow!

Prepaid for a weeklong reservation, confirmed the day before pickup via phone call that my reservation would not need to be modified even though I would be arriving later in the day than originally planned. When I arrived at 6:15 PM, the booth was empty. Phone calls to the office went unanswered. I waited until 7:00 PM (indicated closing time), and no one showed up. No attempt at communication was made by the location about an early closure or possible solutions. The situation had to be resolved via customer service line. Will not be renting from this location in the future.

Quick and friendly service. Vehicle was very nice and new, was fun and easy to drive. Reserved a minivan and was able to receive a minivan so made our traveling very convenient.

We needed to rent a van one-way for an unexpected trip from Michigan to Arizona for a family emergency. Avis offered the best deal with unlimited mileage. We received a Chrysler Pacifica, which was in excellent driving condition and very clean. The gentleman at the pick-up counter was very friendly, helpful, and efficient as was the lady when I dropped it off. I entered my information into the Avis app which made pick-up very quick and simple (barely 2 minutes). If I had needed to make any revisions to my reservation during our trip, I could have used the app for that also. We had absolutely no trouble with the vehicle, and I would not hesitate to use Avis again. I will recommend Avis to everyone I know. Thank you for a great experience!

Upon pickup the exterior and interior of the car was dirty. The driver’s seat was soiled with stains. Upon returning the car I topped it off with gas to the point that more gas couldn’t be added. I drove less than 5 miles to drop off the car was told that I was 1.8 gallons short and was charged just short of $21 after the attendant told me I wouldn’t be charged. Renting from Avis was a breeze. From reserving the car, to the pickup process, to the drop off process. It was all very effortless. The car was nice, clean, and plenty of features to make the trip both easy to navigate and entertaining. I even had to switch the location and time of drop off and the agent was able to assist me quickly and made that happen.

The only advice that I can give someone renting is check the oil life in your car before you drive away. I drove my car less than 500 miles and it signaled I needed an oil change ASAP. It had 5% oil life left. I had to pay $89 out of pocket, on my vacation, only to find out that it wouldn't be fully reimbursed.

Avis refused to rent me a new car after the car I was in was rear ended and inoperable. They wanted to have the old car towed to the airport first, but that took several hours that I didn’t have to waste. The whole process was a nightmare with poor service.

I was over charged for my rental car. Customer service was terrible and would not assist in fixing the issue. If you speak to Marcelino as a customer service representative, he will not assist you. He will be condescending when he speaks to you. Very unprofessional. They do not support the Military.
