I recently moved to Lansing, MI and had Allied Moving do my household move, all the way from Albuquerque, NM. For the most part things were fine during the move, now I admit I did not deal with Allied in Lansing at all, so this is not on the local establishment. This review is for the corporate Allied Folks. Absolutely HORRIBLE claim service.1. First they overcharged my weight and owe me a refund, that still has not been paid.2. The driver shows up to offload my belongings into a storage shed and says he left his paperwork at home and there is nothing to go by on the inventory of my property. Uh....ok fine....they unload, moaning and groaning the whole time about me making comments for handling fragile boxes, do not stack them on the side, etc, etc. Anyway driver leaves, emails me that night and says sign off electronically, he is being pushed to submit his paperwork, blah blah.3. Next day I realize that several items are not in the inventory, i.e. they never were delivered.....so I file a claim, explain what is happening. 15 days later.....yes 15 days! They say, "our paperwork shows it went into storage, we are not responsible", I said whoa Nelly.....it never got delivered!4. Challenged the claim and explained also after calling the driver for Allied, he says and I quote, "yeah I never unloaded them, those items were in the belly of the truck and are too large to ship to return to me". He then says call and file a claim. So they KNOW I never got the stuff and still denied the claim. Pitiful.....if you value your belongings, I would be watching these movers like a hawk on packing and unpacking, and I would make them go line by line on all 38 pages or whatever of their inventory process, and NOT give them an out, for "I left the paperwork at home."Just disgusted with this company right now. Would never use them again.

I used Allied to move me from Tennessee to Michigan. The salesman talked me into an extra $134.75 charge for packing our mattresses into protective boxes. The driver didn't bring the boxes with him when he showed up to load my belongings. So, I requested a refund of the extra charge. Allied is refusing to reimburse this fee, stating that the overall weight of my shipment went over their original estimate. NOT MY FAULT! I still didn't receive the service that I paid EXTRA for. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for a moving company!

Don’t get duped! The biggest downfall of our experience is that we were talked into purchasing the full (most expensive) insurance coverage of our items, under the promise that we would easily be cut a check if anything were damaged, no deductible. Of course one of our ikea dressers ($279) was damaged and the company refused payment saying that ready-to-assemble furniture isn’t designed for being moved. Interestingly, the other identical dresser was moved without any damage, so obviously their argument doesn’t hold water. To sum up, this company lacks integrity, so if that is important to you, don’t choose Allied Van Lines.

Please don’t hire these people. I’ve heard Two Men and a Truck are great and I’m sure Corrigan would do a fantastic job. Our “move coordinator” quit and no one told us. So when no one showed up on move day, we couldn’t get a hold of anyone. The crew finally showed up almost 6 hours late with a truck half the size of the one we were told. Our move was supposed to take one day and took two instead. The second day, they no call/no showed again. When they showed up 3 hours late, there were only two guys instead of four. The crews themselves were great, but the people they work for were unavailable, unhelpful, unreliable, dishonest, and rude.

I highly recommend this company to move your items, wether it’s a small move or your entire house. The team was on time and took great care in going through door ways and asking exactly where we wanted the items placed.

The team was friendly, easy to communicate with and helpful. So much better than moving all of the large things on our own.

The Lansing Morse moving team moved us over a two day period. They were patient, extremely careful and always pleasant. Even after working all day carrying heavy boxes up and down stairs they never lost their motivation and happy demeanor. We are very pleased with our experience with them and will recommend them to others in the future.

Moving is a stressful process, and it's important to work with people you can trust. My career has resulted in 4 interstate moves in the past 10 years. I strongly advise you to look elsewhere for moving assistance. Short version: The movers and driver were rude, smoked cigarettes inside the truck around our belongings and stunk up our house, showed up late, forced us to physically help with the move, and broke our furniture. Complaints were ignored and our damage claim was denied. We spent over $7000. We contracted through North American Van Lines via Mid-Michigan Moving and Storage (3000 Sanders Road, Lansing). There is no accountability due to tiers of subcontractors, but I figured this page was the best place to start. Here are some of the highlights from the first and last time I trusted this company, during spring 2019. - The two guys sent to pack the day before didn't even make it halfway through the house, leaving us guessing if the move would happen on time. Instead of packing, they made jokes with each other about our belongings while I did half the packing myself. - Almost all of the employees smoke cigarettes, which left the house smelling like smoke. Plus, we are just thrilled to have cigarette tar on all of our things. - On move-out day, a group of four guys took frequent smoke breaks inside the truck around our belongings, and the driver became argumentative when I approached him about cigarette smoke sensitivity. Direct quote: "it's MY TRUCK!" - We were hit with last-minute demands like "drain all the gas and oil from this lawnmower" when we were told we could drive it onto the truck. Reasonable request, if given with any notice at all, but it wasn't. - The driver wouldn't take our (empty) 55-gallon glass aquarium without making us sign a waiver, even though the aquarium was extensively discussed when we received the quote following a full home walkthrough. - There are too many middle managers and little accountability. Any complaints are deflected until you reach someone who shuts you down. - On delivery day, we were told the driver would arrive between 8-10am (6 days after pickup for an 800 mile move). The driver had issues locating unloading labor and, after phone calls with 4 different people with everyone blaming everyone else, the truck arrived at 1:30pm, without labor. Unloaders finally arrived at 3:30pm and scrambled to throw most of our boxes into the garage and basement. Our furniture was not reassembled. - Our driver deceived us by repeatedly telling us there was a 90 day risk-free claim window and not allowing us time to review the contract fine print (being so late and rushed). During those first days, as we assembled our house, I assembled a list of missing and damaged furniture and garage equipment. My claim was denied by the adjuster because I didn't immediately report damages on delivery. It would have been impossible to assess the status of 200+ boxes and my unassembled furniture. I hope you have a better moving experience. If you value your belongings and your sanity, look elsewhere. Good luck.
