Nice little store in western Michigan. I was in Union Pier to visit St. Julian Winery, and thought since I was in the area I'd see if I could find a plant stand somewhere. (How, with the rise of plant parenting during the pandemic, is this not a more readily available piece of furniture?). But don't you worry, I didn't leave empty handed--this store didn't have what I was looking for, but it had a lot of other great stuff. It's a little confusing when you get there, trying to figure out where to go in--or if, indeed, you should go in; I was really worried I was wandering around someone's private home. I'm almost positive it *was* a private home at on time, and they've used the space in a really cool way. When you wander through the store--which is pretty large, and PACKED with stuff--you'll find furniture, candles, silverware, dinnerware, blankets, pillows, tote bags, cookie cutters, greeting cards... just about any sort of gift or houseware item you might want. They also have as a part of their business custom furniture building, and they've used one of the rooms to display the different types of wood that you can choose for your furniture. That's so creative!! I really love how in the kitchen they still have old-school appliances like a dishwasher, refrigerator... I swear, I felt like I was in my grandma's home. And the counters are also used to display merchandise. I'm honestly just so astounded by how clever they used this space to make it wonderfully inviting. The thing I don't love about this store is that it doesn't have a website for anything beyond its woodworking arm, and they don't use ApplePay. I asked about both things, because I had wanted to buy a blanket as a gift, but realized I had the household card on me instead of my debit card. So I ended up only picking up a few items and left the blanket. I know that opting against e-commerce is a deliberate choice and they clearly don't need to venture online for their business to work, but it's too bad for folks like me who don't live near and are not going to make the trip to shop there. On the other hand, it does add to the charm. Review #599 - November 18, 2021 #ThankYouThursday2021

A delightful and tasteful home interior store. It's so lovely, that I'd live in the store, if I could. A place that "out of towners" must experience and a place where Harbor Country locals, visit often. Always inviting, always creative, always a pleasure.

We bought four Adirondack chairs, including a glider plus a side table in 2016 and they still look like new after almost five years outside on an uncovered patio. They are comfortable and gorgeous. We will have them forever. Andrew Brown is a pleasure to work with.

Hearthwoods is a must shop destination for the best in custom furnishings and home goods in the country. The talented, creative and kind Mary and Andrew Brown (a husband and wife team) run this incredible lifestyle experience and make you feel as if you are a part of the family wether you shop for special pieces for your home or work with them to create the custom furniture pieces you have always dreamed of. I make a special trip to this special shop every year all the way from New York and my home is filled with their chic, blankets, baskets, cutting boards, candles, bowls mirror, lights and kitchen ware. And don't even get me started about the best family gathering tables, insanely beautiful fire pits, adirondack chairs and stylish bed frames and cabinets designer, Andrew creates. Truly a spectacular shop and furniture owned and run by a very special family!

Beautiful furniture - the show room also has home decor, kitchen accessories, cards, etc. along with the handmade furniture. Every furniture piece looked gorgeous, sturdy and well built - the price tags reflected that, too! Outside of the showroom there are also racks of wood that you can actually purchase if you are thinking of making your own project, which I thought was really cool. The ladies working the showroom were very kind and helpful upon greeting, and left us alone to browse and didn't bother us unless we asked, not pushy at all (which you can encounter at other furniture stores). Definitely worth a stop!
