We drove from Georgia to Lake City Michigan to visit family. During our drive, we experienced a problem with the motor skipping when it downshifted. We were staying in a house three doors down from Northern auto so come Monday morning. I drove my truck up there to have it checked out. They check the codes and were able to diagnose the problem quickly and order the parts. Two days later I was able to drop off my truck and they fixed it in about half a day. Northern auto understood we were on vacation and were very accommodating and pleasant to work with. They don’t treat us like one time customers and understood in a few short days, we were going to have to drive a little over 700 miles back to Georgia. I couldn’t be happier with the service, professionalism, and the friendliness of this repair shop. I would recommend them to anyone in the Lake City area.

They helped in March during a time of crisis; Gas line leak. They didn't kill me with the price. They delivered my vehicle back to me. Recently used them for an oil change and front bearing replacement. Planning to use them in september for tire pressure sensors, so that I can feel safe through the winter.

I wouldn't bring a bicycle to this place to be fixed I had my truck towed in so they could replace the transmission cooler lines and we all know weather yo open a brake line or a transmission line you have to replace the fluid in it that leaks out well they didn't now I have to come up with $2200.00 dollars to rebuild or replace my transmission worst so called mechanics I've ever dealt with if I could give negative stars I would

Last week I left Houghton Lake heading for the Grand Rapids airport. I took the back roads to avoid going through Lake City. My “check engine “light came on. I was worried that there might be something terribly wrong with my car and I might not make my flight.I took the first random road I could so that I could head back to Lake City and have it checked out. We were in the middle of farm fields and woods. Then I became concerned that my car might not even make it to Lake City.Then, like I was in the Twilight Zone, Northern Auto Repair appeared out of the blue! Gabe ran the scanner on my car and reported that I had a slight emissions leak, reset it, and sent me off with a smile.I had popped the hood and had forgot to set reset it. Gabe noticed it from inside the shop and ran back out, shut my hood, and rescued me a second time!Even though I live in Houghton Lake, if I ever need any serious mechanic work done I will be going to Northern Auto Repair!
