This store could definitely use an update. It looks like it was last renovated in the 1990s/early 2000s. However, the prices are still modern and pretty steep. The main reason for the two stars is how we were treated at the self checkout. We were unaware (being from a different state and all) that the bagging process required you to put each item down before scanning the next one, and each time we got an error, the employee got more and more hostile in his treatment towards us. I also don't think he enjoyed that we were laughing about it because he kept interrupting and making rude comments. I will definitely not be returning to this store.

Best Italian sausage, good variety and also some hard to find items. Look here first and save money on gas!

I haven't been to the laundromat in a couple years and had to go there Thursday to wash a comforter. I've never been in such a dirty gross laundromat like it was Thursday. Just gross. The floor was disgusting and machines were dirty. I thought they had an attendant that was suppose to keep the place clean. A mop would've done wonders. It used to be a nice and clean place. Do better pocket change laundromat.

Kalkaska SOS is awesome. Always on time and always quick. I have always gone there on a lunch break and have always been back to work with time to spare, i work in Elk Rapids. Thats fast.

Customer service is always excellent, prefer Northland over Family Fare when traveling in Kalkaska. The store is organized better, employees are cleaner and friendlier, the entire atmosphere is more enjoyable and the bottle return room is easier to get to as well.
