Any hard to find part, any type of “old” part of contraption, vast selection of tools and hardware. PLUS: Their website doesn’t say but they sharpen knives, repair door/window screens.All of this with a smile and great service.

I still value traditional hardware stores, and Gales is exactly what they have always been - a place to get most everything you need for your home without walking for 3 miles to find it.

Went to buy some drawer pulls. They only had 3. I ordered 1 more. I waited a month. Finally went in. They said they hadn't sorted them yet and the would call me. I waited another month. Nothing. I went in this week. The drawer was full so I got one. I told the cashier what happened. Absolutely no comment from him. I will never shop there again.

Friendly, helpful staff and an unexpectedly large inventory. You're greeted right at the door, and the staff can provide expert knowledge and assistance on almost any project. As someone who does small DIY projects and home repair, it is easier and quicker to grab project supplies that I need from a local store like this. And I always leave with more knowledge than I walked in with. Highly recommend!

A wheelbarrow tire was fixed incorrectly the 1st time, and would not stay inflated. I took it back, they gave me a whole new tire no charge, since it was their error. Awesome customer service!!!

I've never written a review before but this one's worth it.Searching for license plate screws turned out to be more complicated than I expected. After unsuccessful trips to various hardware stores, including Lowe's, It was frustrating due to a particular issue with the nuts that ruled out the use of regular screws. I went up Gale's and they figured it out in 10 minutes. They genuinely wanted to help. Didn't matter that they weren't getting paid extra for it.I've been to Gale's ever since.

Super friendly and attentive staff! I was kindly greeted as I entered the store and asked if I needed any assistance; I didn't, but the woman right after me did. It was great to see, and I'll definitely be back here! Please try to shop at a locally owned hardware store whenever possible and especially when you are tackling a project for the first time. You will usually get far superior customer service and staff with more knowledge and a lot of times real world experience. Don't worry that they will always be more expensive, it's negligible compared to the end user experience, and they usually have great sales and rewards programs.

This is the best hardware store ever! Luckily I live fairly close but I am over there at least once a week. Not only do they carry things you don’t find elsewhere, they will happily help you find just what you need and give advice with planning and explaining a project. Plus you don’t have to walk miles in a big-box store looking for something, with no help available. You may pay a little more here, but it is worth every penny for the service and I believe in supporting local businesses! Great workers here!!

Once again received excellent service and treatment by the staff......would go no where else for the care of my lawn equipment and snow blower. So much better than the big box stores!
