I have loved this store for many years. Specifically all my ring purchases are made here. The selection is vast & right up my alley, the owner is very knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. This is also noticeable in all of his staff as well. They've all been very accommodating & kind. I may be out of fingers, but I'm sure I'll find an excuse to come back in soon!

Favorite local crystal shop. Perfect for gifts (for others or yourself,) recently purchased tarot cards, a moonstone ring, some perfumeoils, and trust I will be back for more! The owner is a very nice guy, and all the workers are great, understanding, just all around lovely folks. Everything here is affordable and of high quality (especially the crystals, bc we all know how expensive they are these days.)

Terrapin is one of my absolute favorite shops to go to in Kalamazoo. They always have the BEST rings and I own 4 pairs of overalls that are all extremely comfortable and I get tons of compliments on. The rings I buy at Terrapin are all stainless steel, so they don't turn my fingers green and the metal stays silver and shiny. The employees are friendly and helpful and will tell you the origin of many of the pieces for sale, as many are handmade and sustainably/locally sourced. I've seen reviews that complain about the incense-like patchouli smell that gets stuck in clothing items but personally I love it. This is the perfect store for people who want to support small businesses or are looking for unique home decor, jewelry, or clothing items.

I stopped in this store on a whim and had no regrets! There is plenty to look at, but the jewellery is what caught my eye. Watch out for the sizing on the rings, though, if buying a gift. I found them to run small. If you're into the hippie-boho life, this is definitely a store to check out ☮️

Just went around 3 days ago and was so excited to find a cute pair of opal earrings that were marketed as REAL. Unfortunately, I put them on for the first time today and immediately, the "stone" fell out. Obviously it was not real opal, and for $20 it's ridiculous it would break on first wear. I also found their cute selenite earrings on Amazon for $2.50 that they sold for around $20. They also sell an oil diffuser necklace that is significantly cheaper on Amazon. I used to think this store was so cute, but it honestly seems like their entire stock is from Alibaba.

I have been a loyal Terrapin customer for the past couple years, mainly due to their amazing selection of gemstone rings. I love supporting local businesses and I've probably spent hundreds of dollars there over the years. I've brought in friends and even bought Terrapin rings as presents for family. Unfortunately, I have spent my last dollar there. I have had THREE rings from Terrapin break. The first one had a tiny citrine gem that fell out after only a few weeks of wear. I brought it in and they said they couldn't do anything about it because the stone was lost. I was bummed, but I understood. The second ring that broke was a labradorite ring that I absolutely loved, but the band snapped in two after just a week or so. This time, the owner was willing to exchange it for a different labradorite ring, which was nice except he up charged me since the stone on the new ring was bigger. The last straw was the replacement labradorite ring. The stone has fallen out THREE TIMES, and all the owner is willing to do is glue it back in place. Which results in it falling out again in just a few days. I'm really disappointed because Terrapin has been one of my favorite stores in downtown Kalamazoo, and I love supporting small businesses. But for the prices they charge for their rings, they should be able to last and not fall apart for more than a week or two.
