Our realtor Lori Knoll Ambs with Remax of Kalamazoo is absolutely fantastic! We were first time home buyers located out of state and Lori went above and beyond to help us find our dream home. She is upbeat, responds quickly, and is just overall an amazing person to work with. Although we anticipate spending many years in our new home, we will certainly work with Lori again in the future.

My husband and I purchased our first home and the listing agent was affiliated with Remax of Kalamazoo. We knew from the start that the listing agent was friends with the seller, and the home was priced fairly high as it had been listed for 3 months prior to our engagement with the seller. We toured the house for the first time and the Remax listing agent was there. We had several questions about the house throughout our tour, and the agent couldn't answer any of them. We followed up with several questions via email upon multiple occasions following our showing, and we can't recall more than one question being answered. Responses from the Remax agent were delayed, brief, and seldom addressed our comments/concerns/questions.With the guidance of our own agent (from Jaqua, who we absolutely loved), we made a fair offer based on our agent's approximation of the appraisal. The Remax agent represented the seller so poorly, we couldn't help but feel bad. After a few negotiations, we agreed on a "max over appraisal" price. The listing agent utterly failed to explain the terms of the contract to the seller, which created a domino effect for everyone after closing on the house.By fault of the Remax listing agent, the seller thought they had a significant amount of time after closing to move out of the home. Not only that, the seller had no idea that they were accepting our "max over appraisal" when they signed the contract. As we expected, the house appraised for significantly less than the listing price, and the seller had already unknowingly accepted our offer due to lack of clarity on the listing agent's part.A couple weeks after closing, we tried several times to follow up with the listing agent (who should have followed up and clarified with the seller) to confirm our move-in date. The agent apparently failed to get ahold of the seller and/or didn't want to facilitate the communication, so he passed the responsibility onto our own agent to contact the seller directly. Our agent seemingly had to do all of the legwork of the listing agent the whole way through the transaction. Our agent had to clarify the terms of the contract directly to the seller because the Remax listing agent completely failed to do so. Domino effect... the seller hadn't even booked a moving company because they did not know they needed to be out by a certain date, so all of our moving plans had to change to accommodate.Had the Remax listing agent actually done his job from the start, the seller would have had a much more positive experience, and we would have had an enjoyable experience buying our first home. His sheer lack of knowledge, transparency, communication, and skill being a Realtor was evident beyond measure. He has no business representing people with real estate transactions. We were so frustrated and irritated with all of our communication with him throughout the purchase. Our wonderful agent from Jaqua, who basically handled this entire headache of a transaction, had to take a hit on commission because the seller was so angry with the agreed upon price based on the appraisal. It's destructive and detrimental for the listing agent from Remax to continue representing Remax in this manner. What a shame to have your company represented by such a lazy, incompetent Realtor. Unfortunately, this is the story that will first come to mind when we tell all our friends and colleagues about buying our first house.

I would like to give a loud shout out to Neil Meadmore with Remax of Kalamazoo. Even though he was the sellers agent he went out of his way for all parties involved. And when the sale became rocky. He sailed is through it with great confidence and finess. He's upfront, sincere and extremely patient ! Awesome guy to work with!!!
