“I had NOT heard of WMU Surplus sales until I saw something on facebook marketplace for it. They are only open 2 days a week, and so today, figured we'd stop by. WOW WOW WOW. This place! It is an extremely environmentally-friendly way for WMU to reduce reuse recycle furniture, electronics, new lightbulbs, textbooks, a piano, chairs, file cabinets...just about anything you can imagine being used at a University, they have it. Follow their facebook page (WMU surplus sales) for up-to-date inventory (new things posted weekly!), but definitely stop by to see what they have. I was pleasantly surprised. Office chairs are $3! What was particularly funny to me were the industrial-type desk staplers...they would make a GREAT gift for someone that loves stapling. This has been the biggest shopping surprise in my entire time living in Kalamazoo. You'll never know what you will find! The staff are SO kind and friendly. Parking: there is a lot across the street; do not park on the street. EVEN better, the entrance is at the back by the loading dock, so park back there. Anything eventually not sold gets broken down and recycled. I LOVE this environmentally-wise way that WMU works. Bravo!”

People are nice to you here that I’ve notice on my first day I wasn’t sure where to go but whoever the supervisor is for 1st that is a African American man with glasses thank you so much for your help and being welcoming to me.”

“My employer has worked with WMOI previously but this was my first time. We hired them to outfit our new Bank Branch with all new furniture for 8+ offices, 2 conference rooms, a breakroom and our lobby.WMOI arrived to the Branch bright and early and immediately started to unload the truck and got right to work. Given the scope of the project, we never thought that there was ANY way that they would get everything installed in one day. Much to our delight, everything WAS completed in one day!!The Team of installers were polite and very respectful of our facility! They cleaned up after themselves and you could hardly tell that they had been here, which was wonderful! They worked quickly and efficiently and represented WMOI very well. After a long day and all the desks were installed, we had a few tweaks that needed to be made. Mark was extremely accommodating and patient with us as we were figuring things out on the fly. He took detailed notes of the very few outstanding issues and we felt confident that they would be properly communicated back to the office.The follow up and communication from WMOI has been outstanding! We could NOT be more pleased with their service and products!!”
