ZERO stars. Do NOT rent from Main Street Properties. I rented at unit at Lofts on Q - a brand-new building - and was the first tenant in my unit. THEY ARE ALREADY TRYING TO RENT MY UNIT AND DID NOTHING - SO IF YOU SEE THIS, DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE. I stayed for 5 months because it was absolutely MADDENING living there. The walls were SO thin you could hear both of my neighbors turn on their light switches, open a can of soda, get ice out of their fridge, even hushed, muted conversations. Everything. If they had their closet door open, it felt like they were in my bedroom. I knew my neighbors names and I had never met them before. They did NOTHING to try and remedy this (said they sent someone to work on it, but it was too big of a project with tenants in the units). Both myself and another tenant moved out within 5 months. The office was incredibly rude, unresponsive, and dismissive the issue. The property manager refused to give her email and then said to me "well, you never emailed me about it." lol. They have been renting to college kids and this is their first foray into traidtional renting and it shows. So rude. So awful. I have moved so much and lived all over the country. I have lived in horrible apartments downtown in big cities. I would rather deal with my roach problem in Chicago than rent from main street properties again. Absolute con artists and I will never support any of their other busineses in town again either. You all should truly be ashamed of yourselves (they aren't) taking advantage of people in this housing market.

Main st Properties is a great place to live. But a horrible place for employment. They have endless promises with no meaning. Please never work for them.

0 star review. Mainstreet properties undermine young college students and rip them of money that they do not have for complete bs reasons. I have had the worst experience with the old goat tavern specifically. I have been towed multiple times with parking passes and my friend who literally lives there got towed while being parking in his own spot. My other friend has been fined hundreds of dollars for having her emotional certified service animal on their property, thanks to Amber.

I thought about whether or not I wanted to write this but just in case anyone ever has a similar issue I hope you find a way to get out even if it means spending extra $$$$. I lived here back in 2015-2016 & had a situation where the bathtub above us was leaking through our roof, they kept “fixing” it but it was always painted over and would re-leak. The smell of mold was horrid & For the last few weeks I refused to leave my room when I was home. Years later I started developing stomach problems & loan behold I find out that the mold exposure is one of the main triggers for those health issues. I still have some resentment towards the situation because of the impact & how little they were willing to help out. Just make sure if you ever have a leak you know & understand their process they are taking to resolve the issue.

Despite some properties being nice, the overall experience with Mainstreet has been so shady to me. There has been so many times when the people in the office could have helped prevent fees by simply relaying a message. Instead they never help make you aware of a wrongdoing, instead they just charge you a fee and don't offer any form of understanding or room for explanation. Its almost as they are told not to help you out before a mistake is made. They never keep in mind that as young individuals we are still learning, when all it would take is a simple warning.Anytime we ask for maintenance, it is never a priority and always a hassle. Not to mention the maintenance guys just walking in unannounced. I have even called ahead to leave notes to keep furniture for the next tenants (who are friends) since they asked, just to be completely ignored and find that it was all thrown out. They nitpick at everything.Couldn't even tell you how many fees ive been charged. Whilst the location is nice, they are just unempathetic and unprofessional.

Our basement flooded, submitted maintenance ticket, nothing was done until they came for move out inspections over a week later, and the basement had flooded a second time by then(one of the bedrooms is in the basement).Additionally, when I was finding a new place away from Main St. They took so long to respond to an information request I missed out on not just my first but also second choice apartment. Now, the last month before move out they have weekly inspections because the city is doing an inspection and they want to pretend they are fixing the place up to appease the city, even though the basement walls are curved inward and you can see sunlight through some of cracks in the cinderblocks. Will update post after moving out and getting security deposit back. From our experience so far with Main St. I'm sure it'll be a hassle.

These people are the most incompetent realtors I have ever dealt with. They’re terrible. Never lease here ever. If you pay rent early, they have no problem distributing your early payment to cover people who haven’t paid there share of rent yet. And then they will try to get you to PAY EVEN MORE AFTER THAT. This place is a joke.

This apartment complex randomly started towing every car in the complex. There is a total of 6 guest parking spots in the complex, yet there is a complete lot that they reserve just for retail spots... Why do they need 25 spots for Nick's Gyros and a vape shop? Both; resident cars and visitor cars were towed. Very odd behavior.

Really nice place! You can tell the staff genuinely care about the tenants and are always really nice when you come into the leasing office. The parking lot and entrances are really lit up which makes you feel safe when coming in and out of the building and they have key fobs so that only tenants can get in and out. They provide parking stickers and guest parking too. For the price, this is a great place to live. Other areas charge more for less so I'm very pleased with Main Street Property and its management.

Loved living here. It is so close to campus and is one of the only apartments in Kalamazoo that I felt safe in. They have a ton of promotions for the nearby restaurants and you get discounts if you are a tenant. I would recommend Main St for college students due to all the discounts and its literally the closest apartments to WMU while also being a short drive to KVCC. You get your own assigned parking spot too so you don't have to worry about parking. The few times I've been in the leasing office were good, the staff is very caring and worked with my schedule to be flexible. I was out of town and had a package delivered and the property manager delivered to my apartment for me. I felt like if I ever had an issue I could speak with management and they were always receptive. 10/10 would live here again.

Do not live here. The management never knows what is happening. They’re unreliable, and the account ledger can get very confusing due to the fact that nothing is separated. They give no notice for fees added to your account so if you have a late fee for example, and don’t realize it and don’t pay it, the next month they’ll keep adding late fees even if you’re not late on rent. Worst place I’ve ever lived. We received an eviction notice for $1280 worth of fees that we had no idea about, and the management refused to help us with our account ledger. DO NOT LIVE HERE. If you’re reading this mainstreet workers - you are the absolute worst.
