I was bullied by employee from Lukeman Group to take down my original post about how horrible this business is, but I have now put thought into and want to stand up for my community. I do not fear the backlash of Lukeman, nor will I be painted as racist or terrible by Lukeman for wanting to clean up the community and bring it back together.
Lukeman Group is killing the Vine Neighborhood with little to no remorse. Buying up/owning all available houses preventing first time home owner buyers from snagging a home, creating a stable community. Instead, they lease their properties to "home managers" and they sublease to people who trash the community, cause violence in the community, and cause heavy drug traffic in this community.
There have been numerous complaints and sub threads of them just barely keeping their rental units up to code, providing their renters with a house of problems, which from a lot of the reviews the maintenance crew does not fix, then deeming the renters that complain as "terrible tenants"
If you own majority of property here in this neighborhood, but don't have enough employees to handle wear and tear in a timely manor, then the most feasible option is to sell those houses for people who want to clean them up and call it home. It would not only help them with all the horrible reviews they are getting, but it also helps this community heal and become one together.
Over-all, Lukeman is a family business that only cares about money, and not the over-all community some people are trying to build on Kalamazoo. I would love nothing more than to see this Cult-like-business to take ownership, rebrand and rebuild the Vine Community with long-term home owners here.

My wife and I had a great experience living in property managed by the Lukeman Group for the past 2 years. People were friendly, responsive, and very helpful. We definitely recommend them, and would do it all over again.

My gas meter has hit by lukeman maintenance drivers twice and damaged the side of my house. Please hire better drivers. Both instances they have denied or not owned up to the damage even when presented with security video of the occurrence.
I've even installed metal posts which have been struck several times by their drivers...

I’ve rented through Lukeman Group for about a year now and I’ve had nothing but a close to perfect experience with them. Holly S. is a very respectful property agent. Theirs been a few times where she saved me from my lease being terminated. I’m very thankful that the Lukeman Group (Maddison and Holly) have been so patient and flexible with me because I have 4 toddler children that are depending on me. Thank you very much Lukeman Group!

Broken furnace for most of the winter. They sent people to fix it but it would never work for longer than a week. Also, when we moved out, we were not only over charged for things like lightbulbs, carpet cleaning (plus a cleaning fee before moving in), and a closet door that wouldn't stay on the tracks, they also charged for things we specifically marked down on the pre-move in checklist. Only reason I gave 2 stars was to be nice which honestly they don't deserve

Lukeman group took over my lease this past summer and took utilities out of my name upon transition without notifying me until 3 months later. I was notified by a letter stating that I owed them for overdue utilities and a late fee. I called the utility company to ask why they were ever taken out of my name, and they would have no reason to deny someone taking over the bill. Auto pay is for those of us who do not want to worry about having to double check the payment went through every month, and I had to go in and verify I had not been charged.
My washer/dryer unit kicked the bucket about a month after paying the ridiculous fees and they decided to tell me I was lucky for having any maintenance addressed. The two men who came in to replace my unit had to take the front door off the hinges to get the unit in but reinstalled the front door so it scapes the floor and screams when closed.
The dryer was never hooked up to be operable when the unit was installed and they had to return for another chunk of time. The funny thing about fixing one thing was that he left two more things wrong when he left. The dryer hose was not secured tightly steaming up the entire house and the washer drain was not secured leaving it to spring out of its disposal tube and out into my bedroom carpet that then flooded.
Did I mention that they left me with a unit that sticks out so far that my bedroom door opened to only 19 inches and forced me to crawl through the closet to get into my room. I removed the fire hazard of a door and asked them to come up with a solution so I can have a door back.
I’ve emailed and left voice mail for months giving them a few weeks between contacts in hope that they will eventually take care of the damage that their maintenance crew added to my already tiny and chaotic home.
I have lived here for four years and don’t want to move, but I also don’t deserve to be neglected as a tenant.
Hey Lukeman, can you please call me back?

Keegan is incredibly unhelpful. I attempted to tour a house with him, but for some reason our appointment had “disappeared from his schedule” despite him calling me that morning to confirm the appointment and telling me he was a few minutes away at the time of the appointment. We decided to give Lukeman a second chance which turned out to be a mistake on our end. After telling Keegan we had a hard set date to move in by, he kept suggesting properties available to move in weeks later and kept asking if it would work for us despite literally telling him the opposite minutes prior. Don’t bother wasting your time with Lukeman.

I live next to one of their properties. When They are prepping for people to move in they do not inform workers of the proper area to park so I am constantly having to ask the workers to move their cars so I can get in and out of my own driveway. They leave trash outside of the house. They do not make any repairs to the house that obviously need to be done. When I called to ask them to inform workers of where the actual driveway for the property was, I was told it was not their problem.

Everyone who has lived in Kalamazoo for more than about a year knows that this is an awful company run by a literal slumlord. An unscrupulous landlord who milks property without regard for tenants or neighborhoods.
