Called Generac to get scheduled for a whole house generator. Given this company's name for installation. They missed appointment Generac set up with me involving them. Got a call from Kerwin after that appointment came and went to schedule an appointment for them to come out to give an estimate. Weeks later, appointment came and went with no call or show from Kerwin; after they scheduled their own appointment, and left me wasting a day waiting for them. Not sure if I want to entertain a 3rd attempt from this company. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can only imagine the hoops you'd have to jump through with this company to get anything done...

We received a mail from Kerwin Electric about servicing our whole house generator. My husband stopped in a paid and was told someone would be out next time a technician was in the area. Customer service was so- so, but the payment was taken. After a month we called to see if we were still on the schedule as was told yes that needed several customers in the area. That was fine we were not forgotten, we asked at that time if the self testing time could be changed to weekends when we are home, was told yes they could do that. They came out 6 weeks later, left a postcard. But and now no self testing by generator at all. It goes without saying that we wont be calling them again for maintenance.

We were unfortunately affected by the ice storm here in Kalamazoo,MI. Our power went out on 2/24/23, however, our generator did not come on. I called Kerwin electric around 11AM on 2/25/23 and was told by Karen, though they were very busy, someone would be out to check on our generator. She did not mention anything about a fee, so we thought it would be covered by the warranty. With most of the city out of power, I knew it may be a while before they were able to get to us. Once 5PM came, we thought they may have been too busy to get to us. We decided to catch a 5:30 movie. After the movie was over and I turned my phone back on, we had a message from Luke calling to tell us he found the issue with our generator, and that he jumped the battery and that the generator was now up and running. On March 1, 2023 we received an invoice stating $300 was due: $150 for emergency labor to diagnose generator issue and $150 for battery replacement.I found this odd, since the voicemail from Luke stated he jumped the battery not that he replaced it. I called Kerwin on March 2, 2023 and spoke with Karen again. I advised her that we received the invoice for service and that I didn’t understand why I was being charged $150 for a battery replacement, after being told the battery was jumped. Karen became very loud and rude and stated “He’s not going to lie, if he replaced the battery then he did”. I then stated (still nice and calm), that I was not saying Luke lied, I was just asking why in the voicemail he stated he jumped the battery and I am now receiving an invoice saying the battery was replaced. Karen grew louder and angrier and started shouting that she doesn’t know why Luke said that on the voicemail because she didn’t leave the message and to speak with Luke.Karen is VERY rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I do not recommend Kerwin Electric to anyone that wants to be treated with professionalism and have their questions answered without being yelled at.Do yourself a favor and get service elsewhere.Services: Electrical inspections

I have used Kerwin many times through the years however recently I have found it impossible to get any sort of response from them about new projects. If you call you it always go to voice-mail and when you leave messages there is no response. I have walked in the door , had my contact info taken by a person sitting at a desk and still nobody calls.? If you read the other reviews this is a common theme. Not returning calls from people trying to hire you? What is that? Being Non-responsive is a middle finger in the face of people trying to hire youServices: Electrical outlet & switch relocation

I got 6 quotes from different electricians for a 240V outlet in our garage for an electric car. In the future I will save time and go straight to Kerwin & you might want to for your job. Not only were they the most competitive but their service onsite was a 10/10 experience. It was obvious the crew was much more focused on doing a quality job than just getting to the next job site. They answered all my questions and didn’t mind me hovering to see how they went about it. Wore shoe covers inside without me asking and cleaned up like they were never here. Highly recommended.Services: Electrical outlet & switch installation

I called in September of 2021 and was put on a waiting list for a home generator. At the time I was told that it would be about 3 months. When December came around I hadn't heard anything so I called multiple times and left 3 voicemails but received no call back. I used their request form on their website, again, no response. Ultimately, at the end of December, I had to use Facebook messenger to get in touch with somebody that told me the generator would be in sometime during the last week in January and they would call to schedule. That week came and went so I called again and finally got to talk to somebody on February 28th. That day I was told by Chad that he was talking to Generac that day and would call me back later once he knew the whereabouts of my generator. As of March 8th I had heard nothing from him so I called and cancelled my order completely. My biggest concern was having the generator serviced by a company that can't be bothered to talk to customers once it's installed. I certainly understand the state of supply chains right now but they could have at least picked up the phone once in my 6 month saga. As a final note, the person I cancelled my order with on the phone was quite rude. I guess it's understandable as I was no longer a customer but it would have been nice to at least get an explanation instead of "...ok, I'll let them know. Bye."

They won’t return calls, emails of a generator due for installation over a month ago and the only contact I got from emails was a former employee saying the guy I needed to contact because he wasn’t there anymore … guess that guy is benefiting another company by his good customer service … I called Generac to find a new place to get me generator that I already have the loan for … I would not recommend Kerwin Electric

In desperation I called them one day after 32 hours of no power. My home generator was not working, which someone else had installed. They (the installer) would have told me that it would have been days or longer to get out to our place. Kerwin was there that day, despite having to drive around a downed tree blocking our drive requiring significant off-roading. They went beyond the call of duty. If i could give they 6 stars, i would. They are going to get a yearly contract to come out!
